The Kinney - Venice Beach

I loved my room which felt more like an apartment - It had many interesting and cool style touches

No onsite food available (though close to shops) you needed to request for your room to be cleaned whcih made the Kinney look a little down maket

Loved the ambience, the staff were lovely. The beds were super comfortable. The pool, although small, was a great place to relax, and the outdoor spaces were calm and relaxing.

I believe parking should be included in the price. Not having breakfast available or a vending machine with breakfast or protein bars was a bit inconvenient as there were not many places open walking distance for breakfast, and the ones open were quite expensive. Maybe having a mini bar with food that can be purchased would be great . There was a store around the corner, but again, it was pricey and not very well stocked.

King room - good size, comfortable beds and clean. Room serviced daily. Child’s cot provided on request. Secure parking on site (additional charge). Rooftop pool. Good location for exploring Venice and Abbot Kinney Bl, Santa Monica, and wider LA.

No breakfast service (although Booking.com listing showed breakfast included) and nowhere really walkable to get breakfast. Coffee provided in room was bad, particularly compared to other places on our trip (only basic filter and powder cream). Wasn’t clear that parking charge ($20 per day) was an additional cost. Re the room - safe not working (even after battery change), deadbolt on door not working as door misaligned in frame, bath plug didn’t hold water (difficult to bath kids).

The hotel exceeded my expectations. When we arrived, there was plenty of parking available, conveniently right next to the entrance. Check in was a breeze, we headed up to our room and was met with very cute spaces that included a BYOB bar, TV, ping pong tables, hammocks, and a small pool/hot tub area. Our room was perfect! The beds were extremely comfortable and we slept peacefully.

Our room was in a great area in order to have a quiet experience. Everything was wonderful until around 6a. I imagine the guests upstairs had children with them. It sounded as if kids were jumping off the bed and running around. It was very loud. I would ask for a quiet room on the top floor if you are traveling without children.

We booked a King sized room for 2 nights after disembarking from a cruise from the L/A cruise terminal. 45 minutes taxi ride cost us $85. Good value, nice pool sunbathing area, no restaurant on site but easy to find places to eat. Good value and cheaper to stay in Venice than Santa Monica. Edwin on reception was particularly helpful with advice. 15 minute walk down Washington Boulevard to the Venice Beach pier and buses available to go to Santa Monica (only $1.25 fare each way). Fantastic beaches and very walkable. Felt safe and people were friendly. Taxi back to LAX airport cost $45 and took 20 minutes.

Smack dab between Venice and Marina del Rey, this is a great value location with a trendy vibe that is safe and clean for anyone looking for a home base for a few days. The hotel itself is def trying to be hip and trendy- the decor of the hotel and rooms is nice and feels like an extension of Abbot Kinney. Overall, the beds and rooms are clean and comfortable and feel safe. It is an older building, so if you look too closely, you will see things from an 70's era motel and honestly, for the price, thats ok. The value is great, the vibe is fun and you are in LA, so you wont spend that much time there anyways!

Rooms smell musty, some discoloration/staining on the walls

The room was fantastic, we had a suite and the size was great! The location has great access to Venice beach and is about a 20 min walk and can also take in abbot Kinney which is 5 mins away on foot. The staff were great and on hand if we needed anything! Our stay was that good at the start of our holiday, we stayed the night before we went back to the airport!

I would have liked parking to be free for people staying. Parking is charged at most hotels in LA, would give a great advantage to the Kinney to have free parking for people staying.

The hotel was beautiful, bed was comfortable, your facility was very clean and we will be back to this hotel!! Eduardo was seriously amazing and deserves a raise, he went above and beyond for my family and I. We had a big Uber issue and he went out there and helped us solve it. He was very kind, understanding and if I Lived in CA I would take him from your company and make him manager of mine. We own two businesses in WA state and he is someone we look for in customer service. I hope you guys realize what a gem you have. Thank you for an amazing hotel experience. I come to CA for business and pleasure about 2-3 times a year and I do plan on coming back to your hotel, I will also highly recommend you guys.

There is nothing negative I can say about our hotel experience

Close to Venice beach , lots of restaurants around .. bed comfortable . Room with sofa bed very comfortable for a family of 2 adults and 3 kids . We didn’t need the extra bed we had initially requested

Not much , it’s all good for a family looking for a good location , nothing fancy but has all you need . Would have been good if they had breakfast but so many options around in the neighbourhood

The Location was perfect for us, 20 min walk from the beach, it was easy to go to the airport and drive around. Parking was very easy. The rooms are nice. Very friendly staff. The look of the hotel is very fun and artsy! We enjoyed the swimming pool!

The only thing we didn’t like is that you could hear people walking on top of our room and if your room is by the main terrace we could hear people talking or walking and we didn’t sleep very well.But the staff was very kind to move us to another room.
