Venice Suites

Location, location! Rooms were bright and clean, like having an apartment for the week! Can't beat it for ocean front and boardwalk access.

Drop off and parking. You can park in the lot right next to hotel, but it's $45 a night. Otherwise expect to park a 5 minute walk (at least) to nearest lot for $20 a night. Drop off was a small hassle, entry door is in the front of the building facing the beach. The elevator is small, and a little difficult to maneuver luggage, but it's manageable.

The location is amazing. Walk outside and you are right on the Venice Beach walkway. We walked or used busses to get everywhere. The room had a sliver of ocean view from the dining table that really made me enjoy my meals. We plan to get the full ocean view next time. Shower was very good. Staff were super friendly and even helped give me first aide when I fell outside. Roof top is quite lovely too.

The phone didn't work and they never fixed it. The staff response was "most people don't use the phone". We were from Canada and needed to use the phone. No tea towels in the kitchen. Only paper towels which is not great environmentally. And nothing to hang towels on in the bathroom. It would be nice to have a towel rack in there. These are small things though. Overall the room was great.

The location is perfect - right on the beach. The suites are very clean and comfortable. We loved the rooftop deck.

The rooms are super nice, but the hallways are outdated and could use some sprucing up. Also, the staff wasn't there when we checked in. We had to call and find someone from their other property to come over. It took quite a while and was a hassle for parking, etc. At 4:00, check-in time, it seems someone should be on site.

This place was fantastic!! Perfect location!

On one side of the building (out my windows) was a "pay for the day" parking lot... it was SO noisy! The attendants shouting from morning to evening to the people parking their cars!! It was crazy!! This is the only reason I gave the place a 9!! Luckily it's right there on the beach so you don't spend a ton of time in your room but man a peaceful cup of coffee with the window open in the morning without all the craziness would have been AMAZING!! But other than that the place is WONDERFUL!!

The staff are very friendly and accommodating.

I was surprised at the state of Venice Beach, and didn't feel altogether safe going out after dark. That is beyond the control of the hotel, which offered secure entrance at all times.

This place is a gem. It is sparkly clean--the kind of clean you rarely see in a building that has, well, seen many years go by. I mean, the front door faces the ocean walk, yet they keep all that sand in check! It's a central location to locations you'll want to visit in Venice and Santa Monica, and it has a lovely terrace from which to watch a beautiful sunset!

One side is next to a valet parking lot, it can get loud around 2am for a bit, thought that's normal in a bustling urban area and so close to nightlife venues.

The location is sensational! A few steps from the front door and you’re on the beach. The rooftop is very cool too although it was way too windy for us to enjoy. The staff are so lovely and helpful and it was really easy to check in.

This is an older style property so if you need to use the lift and you’re claustrophobic then probably not for you! It is also not very soundproof, you can hear people walking around in their rooms upstairs. We only stayed a night so wasn’t an issue for us.

Very, very thin walls. You can hear even the smallest noise from the other rooms. The ceiling is very thin too so you feel like the people on the next floor are gonna fell on you when they walk across the room The heating system was so dusty and when you turn it on there is a very toxic smell. The bed is small for 2 persons and the bed frame is very squeaky. The mattress is bad also so everytime the person next to you moves you wake up. The bathroom could use un update.

The location was perfect, and right amongst the quirky Venice Beach character. Whilst I had a room down the hallway, I still had a slight view of the ocean. The two managers were both very friendly and helpful giving us pointers on where was best to go. The roof top deck was amazing, and we probably would have used it for more than photos, if it hadn't been so windy. The building itself is full of character, and the rooms very well appointed. The bed was possibly a queen size, so not huge, but was very comfortably including great pillow selection.

The only bad thing about the stay, was the road works on the street behind. The noise started at 730am, and after a late night at a couple of bars that was pretty tough. However this can't be blamed on the establishment, and I would fully recommend that if you are looking for somewhere to stay that's great value for money, and a little bit outside box. then this is the place for you.

Good location, clean

Check in was done poorly. I messaged them ahead of time that one partner would be arriving early. When he arrived, they had no record. When I called, she said "oh that was the evening shift you talked to". In contrast, when I checked in late at night the service was outstanding.
