Northern Queen Inn

Your front office person was so personable about the history and how nostalgic it looked, at my check in that made the first initial contact a start to a good start at your Inn. He also gave me with a simple phone call (more towels/and necessities needed for my 2nd of staying here). I have to admit this was a gem of a find on the the booking.com website for Nevada City for where we stayed compared to our Wedding Venue and the distance from your Inn to downtown Nevada City....Wow👍😁

The only thing was it was mentioned that the restaurant on the property was a great place to eat, which made us more anxious to enjoy a great dinner the day we arrived ( literally 35 feet from our hotel door) as we approached the restaurant a rather monstrous sign was much to my disappointment "Celebrating our Rep. Seats to blah-blah-blah" and the celebratory well dressed suit&tie person greeted is with "restaurant is having a private party tonight" sorry but 'have a good night. We could have been told when we arrived and been excited to go downtown grass valley at a rather nice Thai food restaurant which made us very happy. You see it was election times and politics was heavy right now, apparently obvious in this location! Ooh still had a great stay.

Thought price was a little high considering I've worked in housekeeping for 9 years and I see a lot of detail work that could be done. As my blow dryer was dirty and didn't work, no irun but they did have the irunorning board, just a few little things overall though, id give it a thumbs 👍🏻

Friendly check in, clean room, close to Nevada City and coffee maker worked.

Bed was very hard, towels were thin, but serviceable. They make it look like a train station where you check in then there is no decor that goes with the theme. The trunk that had the t.v. would have been great to put your feet up while watching t.v. that should be mounted on the wall. Couldn't see t.v. from the bed.

We took a cabin for 4 people. It was quite spacious and well equipped. The hotel is nestled in a forest of giant trees with a half-abandoned narrow gauge railway. As my daughter said, this is a very "mysterious place". The city is just 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes by car.

There is no breakfast at the hotel. I think if the owners pay more attention to the freshness of the rooms and the cottage, as well as to the details in the decoration, the hotel will become a local gem. A very annoying dump for old room appliances that the hotel built right outside the back gate in the woods. It is absolutely horrible in this beautiful environment and contrary to all environmental laws.

I love the location and the cabins are spacious and cute and the bed is very comfortable. Beautiful nature all around you.

There’s no pots and pans or dishes in the full-size kitchen, The pool has been closed for years and says it’s under remodel but hasn’t been, and some of the furniture is getting old and could stand some updating like the couch and chairs in the cabin.

We had to stay overnight in Nevada City unexpectedly and late at night. Very happy they accepted us as guests!

The front desk person couldn't give us directions to the hotel from downtown, but the Nevada City Police kindly escorted us there! Wish the front desk had located us away from the highway noise. Didn't like that we couldn't see the TV screen from the bed.

Just like being at home 😊The cabin was clean and comfortable. The property offers great views and very walkable trails. We love staying there.

Could’ve had a extra roll of toilet paper just in case (we had to ask housekeepers for one). Wish they had complimentary breakfast.

Hard to say how insanely cute first receptionist is?/was. Insanely absurdly cute. Hopefully zuckerberg or besos stays there and gives that person themselves or family to marry. Or date. Or be friends with. Northern queen is so empty now, sad day. Rooms were way underpriced, bed was enormous for any price, unless you want to sleep the lakers and/or clippers on the beds while making them share. Fair notice, I'm not a yelp picky tire kickin' sorta david. More like someone who really liked my room. Also kinda in love with receptionist, so way biased. Morning staff were less cute, and we're dudes, but we're nothing but helpful.

Could have shown up in a Koenigsegg and floored it and made everyone love me and found a date, but fell asleep at 9:35 pm and still don't have a swedish supercar, just a need to find a place to rent. I like mountain biking a ton, that's a problem, because I snapped another frame now I love.my bike to ship.

The couch was nice

No wifi it's very difficult to do my administrative work away from. Home already. Try throwing no wifi into the mix and its impossible. Also the bed had some metal structure under it. And well I hope 8 didn't have neighbors cause that made a lot of noise. For several hours

The location was good for our needs. The room was clean and ready for us. The furniture was comfortable. It was quiet, no road noise at night. The staff we interacted with were pleasant.

The whole property looks rundown. It was over priced for what we had.
