Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine

It’s beautiful. It was decorated very festively and attractively for the holidays. The staff were super nice.

I booked a king bedroom, and asked for a quiet room. I got a room with two queen beds, which I didn’t want, and it was far away from everything except a generator or hydraulic equipment, which was really noisy and actually vibrated all night.

Great staff.

Parking a little pricy.

The view was swell-- Prior to my stay at the Hyatt I was at The Inn, on Mirimar, with my Daughter & her Family (we had 3 rooms)for 5 days ( She & husband are retired Military Officers,} --the room was the same size & arranged exactly the same as the Hyatt, our car was outside our door- the laundry was nearby, full variety breakfast included --refrigerator was enclosed & larger, for $145.oo/night --this stay I didn't have time in SD to enjoy your pool etc. etc. merely the room, plus needed to pay for parking, & breakfast--so the stay was not that memorable. But I Enjoyed seeing the gull with her babies in the large pot, bowl- top of a column in the front entrance parking area.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff specially during breakfast were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. They had a lot of facilities (fitness room, pool) and they were clean. Location was close to UC San Diego and beaches which was nice but you still had to drive there. Parking was free and easy to get. Room was fine, had a nice view.

Rooms are tired and a bit grimey, specially the carpets. You could tell it was getting old and needed replacement even in the hallway. The hallway walls had dings and dents.

The location was perfect to the event I attended. Unfortunately I could not stay the entire stay due to the hurricane that was predicted to come that did on Sunday am . The concierge was very understanding in allowing me to check out a day earlier after contacting Booking.com and being instructed that this would be handle by the front rest manager at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla. Everyone was very understanding of the situation with the severe weather predictions of hurricane Hilary.

Location is convenient, just off the freeway and short drive to La Jolla Village. The staff is accommodating and check in/out is efficient. Room is spacious, with good wifi. Pool is great for Lap swimming as well as lounging. The Parking garage has free electric vehicle / Tesla Charging is a bonus.

Hotel charges $32 for self parking, which should be included in the room charge. Windows in the room are a bit too high and small (but there's nothing that could be done to improve that). Shower could be stronger (I prefer strong shower). During my stay, there seemed to be a big convention going on at the hotel, and the lobby area is full of kids / teenager running around, which made it felt like a "summer camp" (as opposed to a Hyatt Regency hotel).

Breakfast buffet was delicious!! We loved the green smoothie and not too sweet. The French toast option takes the WIN! Our server, I cannot remember her name but she was lovely, polite and helpful when it came to inquiring about 2-free buffets per day. She was tan, dark curly hair maybe 5'6". She was pleasant to have in our presence. Thank you!!

I would have liked to have a small refrigerator to keep drinks cold like water, juice, or snacks. We didn't have any handsoap in the bathroom only a facial bar by the sink. For the price we paid, I expected something discounted whether it be parking for 1 day or 15-20% off on a spa service.

I complained the toilet and bathroom sink were a little clogged. I immediately received an apology and a credit for the parking garage. Also I asked for an extra blanket and pillows. They were there when we arrived.

Parking is expensive. And although I received an apology and a credit for the parking, we would have preferred to flush the toilet only once instead of twice.

it was a great hotel with spacious rooms. It had great food and the beds were very nice. The room service was very good and they were prompt. The front desk was helpful and was available 24hours a day.

the way to get in was a little congested and hard to get in. The elevators were also a little slow and it took a long time to get to top floors above the 3rd floor. But the rest was great.

My wife left her hoodie in the closet by mistake. We realized it on our way home. She called and asked if it could be mailed to our home. They called back & said there was no hoodie in the closet. So someone is lying! We were 2 hrs away when she realized she had left it. Other wise we probably would turn around. This really soured us from staying at a Hyatt again
