EZ 8 Motel Old Town

It’s the most affordable accommodation close to Point Loma, Old Towne, & the convention center. I last stayed here in 2017 and there have been huge improvements as far as comfort and overall safety. The rooms weren’t 5 star cleanly, it’s a 2 star motel. I’m pretty sure I had an interaction with every front office employee - don’t put your room key Mex to your smart phone, deactivates super easily - and every employee treated me with kindness and respect. Michael is the only one I can remember by name, he was very professional and helpful when I extended my stay. I never saw an employee just chilling being unproductive, it’s visible the housekeeping staff was trying to make miracles in a 4 hour window between checkout and new guest check in. I was in the back building first floor and had no issues with noise from the Highway or guests above me.

Since it was a heat wave, there were tons of guests taking advantage of the pool to cool off. Which I guess isn’t a negative, but would’ve been nice to have some time in the jacuzzi without a bunch of kids having a blast haha. Also some of the other dog owners weren’t responsible about picking up after their pet, that wasn’t cool

it has great prices staff are great intil you get behind or late or even have some crazy dude come crack the window it wad me and my kid and we called the front office to tell them we done know this guy whos tryn to break in all the office did was call the copswitch came hoursssss later wr ewhere freaked out the securty gaurd there stode by and did nothing.the guy had the wrong room!!!!!!!! and guys i got charged for it i had stayed there for almost 3 week but thay do have the best prices

the rooms where so so clean the flour nastey the tv couldnot of been any smaller hardly any channels but the prices are great

Rooms are very big. Nice bathroom. Clean and convenient close to home. Security guard all night makes me feel secure and safe parking my car during my stay there. Reception is clean. Customer service employees are very nice, friendly and helpful.

There is nothing I did not like. Only parking while motel is full. I would like the rooms to have a microwave, hair dryer and iron with ironing board. Other than that I loved staying there.

I loved how how the staff worked with us to extend our stay and also help with supply to clean the room on our own. We didn't ask for room but at our request. Pool was clean and security guard at night for safety. Pet friendly and clean on the property ( staff put pet friendly liquid to prevent the smell of pet urine on pet walks) and also had pet bags on the property.

I love everything about the hotel.

I like that they are so great at accommodating disabilities, as well as no issues for our service dogs. It's more chill Than an uptight bougie place and people are less nosy. I think it would do well with a little more attention to the wifi quality. It definetely has a decent vibe though!

I would prefer a nicer atmosphere as far as the druggie and sketchy people, but no one bothered us. We've had our car broken into here before but as long as you take all your valuable items and medications inside your room, you're at alot less risk.

I took a bus, crossed an International border, and a train. Then walked.. It IS close to a trolley station, but you might "miss it" if you were driving. Also, it is a big complex! However, they give you directions, and available to help. I also like the fact that the Security Guy "checked" me.. Meaning: People can't just wander in, and out.

My door card didn't work, when I got back. NEVER, around the world (look at kingonabudget or queenonabudget dot com).. had that issue. Made me (and some of my "neighbors") feel like.... HMMMM. this Guy should not be here.

We enjoyed ourselves very much it was very relaxing. And the people that work there from the check in process to the house keeping and maintenance were all very nice and pleasant. We stayed from Sunday Feb 11 - Feb 15 2024. 5 days , and we had a wonderful time. Thank you Michael and the rest of you at ezt8

The floor could have been a bit cleaner.

The location was perfect centrally located; within 5 to 30 minutes to everything we planned to do. Very helpful staff in office and considerate my needs to health issues, for example non smoking room that I had booked.

No microwaves available in rooms. The one centrally located was always dirty/unclean. It said pets welcomed. However, it did not list the requirements. For example, you cannot leave the pets alone in the room. This limited my tours, sightseeing, museum visits, etc that did not allow dogs or service animals.

Receptionist al 7 pm on Friday, gave us our room, but when we opened the door, was full of people, including a dog barking.. can you imagine my shame.. Lucky for us that rooms where available at this time.

An older property under a freeway overpass and right next to train tracks so it's not super quiet but all considering, I was impressed at how quiet it was in the room. It was pretty clean and for the price, I was very happy with my stay... The two young ladies in the office were very nice and accommodating and if I'm ever in that area again I will definitely consider staying at this motel!

For the price, I really can't complain about anything...
