Hotel Emblem San Francisco, a Viceroy Urban Retreat

We really enjoyed the atmosphere and all their decor. As soon as we got there they offered us complimentary Sangria. At the entrance they have an entire wall made out of all books. The room was very clean. The room had a very tiny fridge, coffee machine, and a safe. When you walk down all their hallways, you can read all these amazing inspirational quotes on the carpet. As we were checking out, they asked if we would like to take a Polaroid picture of our family! We really loved that!

On every floor they have a water dispenser so you can get fresh water but the one on the 3rd floor was not working. We also tried the one on the 2nd floor and no luck. That was a big inconvenience because we had thirsty kids!!! Also, there is no free parking so be ready to pay a total of $75 for valet parking at the hotel.

I liked the eclectic vibe of the hotel, and the art in the room including the "pot is fun" pillow

I was not impressed with the $29 urban amenity fee or the fact that the parking garage that was recommended for $30 was full. We had to then find parking and paid $40 for it. The parking fee and the urban amenity fee should be listed when choosing this hotel on Booking.com!! I did not use ANY of the "urban amenities." If I would have known about these 2 extra charges before I booked I probably would have made a different choice.

Not one bad thing to say! From check in to checkout the staff and place was amazing -exceeded our expectations. Free glass of welcoming sangria upon check in was a nice touch! The staff were super super nice, welcoming, and accommodating and we interacted with at least 6 or more different individuals from front desk to bartender -etc. Great location -and close to bart and muni station quick walk to Powell street. The room was great -very spacious with a nice couch as well, comfortable beds , dimming lights are nice in the rooms , access to ice that was fully loaded , and fortune cookies were cool too! Shower water pressure was awesome! Great 24/7 diner nearby pine crest. Several liquor stores in walking distance . Also a great VERY affordable breakfast spot nearby is Fresh Brew coffee on bush street.

Great coffee shop adjoining entrance with good coffee, food, juices. Hip and cute decor. Fun theme. Staff were very friendly and patient. Nice lounge/bar area to read or relax in… or have a drink! Central location. It’s an old building but with a nice reno so adjust expectations accordingly.

No real fault of the hotel but our dates (which were not flexible) coincided with a big conference in San Fran and hence our room rate was very high, not really worth it but we were captive to our reasons for being there and hotel availability on booking.

The location is perfect, also close to a cable cart route (Powel) and in a nice and safe area. Walking distance from upscale shops, big department stores and Chinatown. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. There is a great breakfast place ( excellent chai latte !) on the ground floor and a really cool bar.

The only comment I would have is that the water pipes make a lot of noise. When the people in the room next door ran water, you would get a lot of noise from the pipes.

We stayed July 27 & 28th, 2022. Loved everything about it! The customer service was top notch. The decor is fantastic, I want to move in permanently! The room was small but adequate, nicely arranged, plenty of room for two. The bed was super comfortable. The location was great, easy access to public transportation, restaurants, bars & Walgreens. The coffee shop attached was amazing, I need coffee before interacting with other humans, so I could roll out get some coffee and come back to the room. There were coffee makers in the room as well, but I was on vacation, no cooking of any sorts! When I return to SF I will be staying at Emblem.

location was amazing, great coffee shop attached to the hotel, big size rooms, super comfortable, loved having a water station on our floor as well as the complimentary fortune cookies! love the decor and design of the hotel - cosy and cool! the books in the hotel rooms and the little quotes on the floor everywhere was a nice touch! staff were very friendly and accommodating! sangria on arrival was also a plus!! amazing stay!

Hotel has a really friendly and relaxed vibe. Superb staff, really comfortable rooms and excellent location.

We couldn’t work out how to turn the shower on. Apparently a common type in the US but we’d never seen it before and we were in a hurry as we had an excursion planned. No instructions in the room. When we spoke to reception they could not have been nicer and bent over backwards to make it up to us.

The service was outstanding. All issues were resolved immediately. It was nice to be in something other than a cookie-cutter hotel. The location suited our needs.

This is an older property that was extensively remodeled. If you are in to new and sparkly this is not for you. Rooms vary but are not large. My only real gripe was that currently, the bar is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We love a nightcap and this was a reason I booked. This is personal and may change.
