Taj Campton Place

Am glad we chose to stay at the Taj. The staff are very courteous and welcoming. All my requests was met and it was a lovely 5 day stay here. Location could not be better.

A bit on the downside though: pillows were a bit hard. Also we booked through booking.com and it mentioned breakfast was included. It did not say it was limited to a certain amount per room.

The room and the service were good.

The problem is that when I booked the room with Booking.com, the price of the room per night was quoted at $179.10, which is what I was charged for 3 nights of my 5 night stay. The 4th night was charged at $252.00 and the 5th at $342.00 without any explanation. I am quite unhappy that I was not told about this in advance either by Booking.com or the hotel.

Great and welcoming service generally by all staff who are all truly exceptional. Typically Taj! You can’t beat them at that. Set menu and only served in the room till 9 pm . Kitchen wholly inflexible on menu. For instance they have club sandwich. When I asked them to make it a vegetarian club sandwich they said they can’t do it!! . Really I thought!. No freshly squeezed juices, Very limited (2) Indian veg selections on menu. Poha for breakfast and Paneer Makhni . The Room service wouldn’t allow me to speak to the chef. Not what you expect of the Taj but then they have adapted well to America to cater to the market here and what’s expected including by offering free coffee and pastry in the morning in the lobby. Same cup cake all three days I stayed. No variation . Was disappointed. I ordered hot milk one night with haldi and pepper at 9-10 pm and they obliged despite the kitchen being closed . Next day I ordered only hot milk and they remembered to serve it with Haldi and pepper. Now that’s the Taj I know!. Otherwise I had to remind myself that I was staying in a Taj.

Location, People, Art decor , Clean and good bed. Good coffee machine in the room

We stayed for 6 nights in a big corner room. Of course, the location was stellar, but the professional staff set Taj Campton apart, from housecleaning to the doorman. The bistro and its professional staff were an added bonus. Beautiful, calming interior design.

The ONLY thing that could have been improved was our bed. It was uncomfortable, and we slept on the floor one night. It might be time to inspect bed frames and support.

Breakfast was in room due to COVID but we were expected to spend some of the amount of money allocated to us for breakfast on mandatory service fees so eventually we were left with not much money to order a satisfying breakfast The toilet flooded once, the system of flushing isn;t very powerful

Exceptional housekeeping, friendly front desk staff and very good location.

Couldn’t get a rollaway bed in a two twin bed room due to the room size. Bed not very comfy. Pricey.

Perfect location for walking around the city or catching a cable car; well-appointed, comfortable, and clean; excellent housekeeping; excellent staff — courteous, friendly and very helpful; very quiet; food and beverage available on site.

This hotel has a superior location(at the top of Union Square) so it is very convenient for shopping. The staff are lovely and very helpful. It has a super little bistro and bar serving excellent food and of course the main restaurant wine open has a Michelin star rating. Hard to think of a better place for a getaway weekend.

Great location, staff were so nice and helpful, rooms were cleaned daily and so comfortable.

Breakfast was room service only.

it’s homy and the staff is excellent. love the Molton brown products and love the mattress, very comfortable.
