Orchard Hotel

I initially booked a room with their sister hotel but it closed down due to covid. They then offered me one of their best rooms here instead it had made my stay in SF during a stressful time (I was presenting at a conference) truly a wonderful one! The room was nice and very clean and of course your own patio never hurts! And the staff were all so nice and attentive. Location was also quite okay. Highly recommend.

That I did not book the rest of my stay in SF there. :P

Lovely, well kept property in the heart of San Francisco. Helpful staff - especially Steve who had an understanding of our needs as a family and moved reservations around so that we could have connecting rooms.

Appreciated that staff activated themselves to find my son’s missing soft toy - which was caught up in bed sheets which housekeeping had sent to the laundry.. At the same time - once found (2 days later) and though it was housekeeping that should maybe have been more careful - we were told that personal belongings are the responsibility of the guest and would have to pay for the Hotel to send the soft toy to us. We therefore went to pick it up to avoid risk of losing it again. - and almost lost our flight…

- very safe area, especially with the current situation in SF (it's on the slope though so it's a bit tiring to walk back to hotel) - very clean and spacious room, comfortable bed - nice breakfast area (although i didn't dine there) - water machine available which is very convenient - plastic-free (they provide glass bottle for your to refill water) - high-pressure shower, awesome! - right in front of a tram station, very convenient if you'd like to take a ride - welcoming and helpful staff

On the plus side-the room was clean, comfortable and well laid out. the bed was awesome and the bathroom was very nice and spacious. We loved ur single king room. another plus, the hotel is 50 feet from the cable car line that goes to Fisherman’s wharf and Chinatown which was really convenient and fun for those whole want the SF experience!!

nothing about the property was not up too par other than the tv which included the worst remote I’ve ever used. our gripe is with the incorrect information on the ad regarding food and parking. first, there is no parking! you have to use a private garage about two blocks from the hotel. this was a nightmare as the entrance near ghee hotel was closed and you had to gps your way through the confusing and somewhat challenging streets of the busiest part of the city. also the ad said they had a lounge which is no longer true and the only meal they serves is a grossly overpriced, but very tasty, breakfast.

Ideally located only two blocks from Union Square, we were so glad that we chose to stay at the Orchard Hotel. The staff were lovely and allowed us to check-in despite arriving earlier than the check-in time. The room was spacious, warm, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and had a very good hot shower. There was a water dispenser on our floor which was great. I loved how sustainable the hotel is., while not compramising on quality. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Orchard Hotel to anyone visiting San Franscisco.

The only thing which is quite small, is that cleaning staff didn't re-stock the coffee or sugar when they cleaned the rooms. However the reception staff were happy to provide these items.

The room was spacious and spotless. The friendly and competent staff and the room cleaned daily made the whole stay a very comfortable experience. The location is excellent: close to Union Square and a cable car stop, restaurants, and Walgreens nearby.

Apple Pay was not an option, so I couldn't pay for breakfast with the same card I paid for the hotel, which made some business/private expenses headache. Breakfasts were a menu, with no open buffet. While I eat light, vegetarian breakfasts, I had no choice but to eat oatmeal/avocado toast every day or eat elsewhere.

I booked this hotel as the booking.com rating was so high. The visit was pleasant, easy to find, in a nice location near Union Square. The tram went from outside the door which was convenient. The staff were super friendly. My dyson hair dryer wouldn't work but the hairdryer provided was very powerful even though it was tiny.

The room was quite dated with old wooden furniture and the bed was really uncomfortable. I felt like I was in a waterbed whenever my husband moved. We both had an uncomfortable sleep. We were only there two nights but I feel like there are nicer hotels for similar prices in the area.

Beautiful room very clean 2 large double beds ( twin room requested ) Fantastic location and would definitely recommend this area of San Francisco even if you don’t stay at this hotel Friendly staff and well informed Didn’t eat here so can’t comment but would highly recommend Lori’s Diner - almost opposite - for the American experience!!

Had to go down 2 floors for water for coffee machine No kettle for tea Asked for a quiet room which I got but the view…. 😏 but you can’t have everything

The Orchard Hotel was very well located close to Union Square and right on the Powell Street cable car line. Not knowing our way around - how surprised were we when coming back from sightseeing that our cable car stopped on our corner. We found a great little place to eat and drink at all hours - The Last Drop Tavern - round the corner in Powell Street. Nice little restaurants just down the road as was a Walmart for missing things.

Shame that the Hotel bar wasn't open but The Last Drop Tavern in Powell Street was a wonderful solution particularly when arriving late on an overnight flight from Australia via the world!

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Everything in the lobby, elevators, hallways and our room looked brand spanking new. The bed was large and comfortable. Although located in a very busy and noisy part of town, the room was incredibly quiet and peaceful. Excellent hot water and water pressure in the bathroom. I was really impressed with how quickly the elevators sped between floors, so they were never really crowded nor did we have to wait long for them to arrive. The bathrobes and mini fridge were a much appreciated inclusion in our room

As with most hotels in the area, the price was a tad high, but this is expected for being in such a convenient area. The decor was a bit out of date, however it was immaculately maintained and pristinely cleaned.
