The Flamingo Motel San Jose

Room was clean and comfortable and had all we needed for the nights stay. Parking was available however not sure there would have been parking if we'd arrived later. Plenty of places to eat and coffees to drink nearby. Very close to airport which is what we were looking for. Beautiful neighborhood for walking too.

We stayed in room 205 or 206, can't exactly remember. It was right on the main road which was LOUD. At all hours. So that was unfortunate. Also we stayed on a Friday night and on Saturday morning, the building next door had their maintenance team out at 7am or so blowing the parking lot - if we had been trying to enjoy a lie-in, we would have been out of luck

Funky old retro hotel totally updated and clean. I expected the decor to be kind of tacky retro like the outside but it was modern and new. Nothing fancy but super clean. The check in clerk was very nice and let me enter early since my room was clean. She was very friendly and kind. Great bed and well equipped room.

The entrance off the street is a bit hard to see. A narrow driveway thru a breezeway and then diagonal parking. It’s not obvious from the street and it’s a busy street as I a big sign that says Enter would be in order. The office sign is small too. The bathtub plug did not work.

Everything! The room is lovely and clean, the amenities are good and the location is wonderful and so is the price. The manager actually knows me and recognized me because I'm a frequent customer. She even gave me her card so that if I have trouble getting a booking online, she could see if they have something anyway. 😁

On this trip, for the 1st time, the housekeeping staff was really assertive about getting me out of the room so they could clean it. However, the manager called my room and totally took me off the hook. The only negative thing I could say is that the coffee packets are nasty. 😉

The people who run the front office are very nice. We were able to secure an additional night's stay, and they were willing to negotiate on the price even though it was for a Saturday night. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, and the heating was more than adequate for a chilly rainy night. The rooms have nice crown molding, textured walls, and an arched doorway into the bathroom. Overall, we could tell by the appearance that the place was well-cared-for. It felt secure also, we didn't feel like it was in a bad area. It is close to major San Jose arteries, as well as near Santa Clara and Campbell. My wife and I have stayed here before and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable, centrally-located place to stay in San Jose.

There is no breakfast offered, but it's San Jose, so there are plenty of places to find food. We really didn't find anything that we don't like about the Flamingo. The price for an extra day would normally be on the high side, but as I said, we were able to negotiate on that, so we were happy we could stay another day.

Very friendly receptionist when checking in. Was able to check in earlier than 3:00pm the day I arrived. Great location and good amenities for the price. Next to a residential area and a fantastic Mexican restaurant and also close to a great breakfast spot midtown. Within a mile of the downtown area as well. Plenty of off street parking away from directly in front of someone's house, which was necessary because apparently there is not enough of parking spaces in the motel lot. Overall a pleasant experience. I would consider coming back.

Came back late one night and every motel parking space was full. No NBC bay area sports channels available. DISH network is the worst network for sports, especially local sports. The main room light wasn't working. Has to turn on lamp light when entering room.

Exceptionally clean and so adorable. staff were lovely, dedicated and friendly. I got so drunk on hard seltzer at the Sharks game on our first night that I had to spend an entire day recovering in our motel room. therefor I can comfortably state is was a lovely clean and cozy space - even for an entire 24 hours.

the bath plug wouldn’t stay up so I couldn’t enjoy a bubble bath but who in their right mind takes a bubble bath at a motel?

Nice big bed, clean room, cold fridge & accommodating staff. We wanted thought or room would have a bathtub, but they are only on the 2nd floor - since we we're unable to use a 2nd floor room (due to a disability) - they we're kind enough to get us a shower seat.

The only thing we didn't like - was that we couldn't hook our roku device too the tv, because it's mounted to the wall. It's not a huge deal, but we do prefer to stream our own tv & films (commercial free).

Love the simplicity. Just a nice cozy room. No other bells and whistles, just the basics. The place may not offer breakfast or room service, but there are PLENTY of good eats around the neighborhood.

The tile in the bathroom in my room (215) had a crack. I was careful around it, but could potentially hurt someone if not fixed. Other than that, no other complaints.

Large room with a big tv and double comfortable bed, also a small desk, table and chairs. Good sized and clean bathroom. I didn't drive but looks like there is plenty of parking at the motel. You can also order take away to your room if you like. The road it is on is quite quiet, there is a whole foods market not far away and I saw a couple of food places and cafes. Not far from the Amtrak train station.

Stairs are really narrow, and most rooms are walkup - fine for young, healthy people without massive luggage (like we had). There was also a loud buzzing sound - i think it may have been a vent fan in another room. I probably could have asked for this to be addressed but it was late night and i did not want to bother another guest. These were not big problems, though.
