Location was great. Breakfast could have included more hot option, bacon, sausage, eggs, etc

Central air didn't work, so there was an in-room unit that was loud.

It was a cool ski lodge vibe complete with afternoon cookies, apple cider and hot chocolate in the afternoon ! Wifi worked great! The rooms were spacious, it was cool to be right on the lake. I got a great view of the sun rising while enjoying complimentary breakfast! It would have probably been really gorg in the spring. We were there during a huge blizzard and the staff was so helpful! The lady at the front desk helped my husband shovel out the car, helped us with traffic alerts, had boots and gloves to use and was so pleasant in the midst of such a snowstorm ! Her attitude and support made the memory of this family vacation amazing !

The restaurants nearby were high priced and closed early. It probably wouldn't have been an issue if the streets to the other side of the lake were open but that was a bummer. I will say being able to walk to the little grocery story and breakfast spot in less than 5 min was really helpful. Not the worst thing we couldn't get chain type restaurants. Fyi no microwave which isn't the worst but it limited ordering food you couldn't heat back up.

The physical location on the shore of Lake Tahoe is stellar, and the property is situated well away from the junky shopping strips that mar many parts of the lakeshore. The lodge amenities are impressive! Our room had a small balcony that permitted sunrise and sunset lake views. Other things: a high quality, completely silent ceiling fan that allowed air circulation within the room, a large shower with good water pressure, and just an exceptional bed and bed linens. The menu choices in the property’s restaurant were varied, and dinner was good. The included breakfast was continental, but there was lots to select from. This is a great place!

Rooms are upstairs so possible issues with regard to mobility.

Over the past two decades, I've stayed in many hotels, inns, B&Bs, Air BnBs and other vacation accommodations. Staying at the Sunnyside was THE BEST hotel experience I've had in many years. The room was exceptionally comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is awesome and views are fantastic. The continental breakfast is quite good, despite what others may have written. It is full of locally-baked goods, a bagel-salmon spread, coffee, Tea, and other drinks, all served in the comfortable bar area. The restaurant is very comfortable and the food is solid, but not exceptional. The view of Lake Tahoe from the hotel bar and dining room is gorgeous and unsurpasssed in Lake Tahoe. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others. I just can't say enough about what a good time we had staying here. Also, it was wonderful to stay in a hotel room that was clean, aesthically pleasing, with nothing broken or damaged. Thank you Sunnyside for an absolutely fantastic weekend. We'll be back.

There were a few minor things that could have been improved: 1. The outdoor stairs were icy and slippery and need to be kept clear. I slipped more than once but luckily did not hurt myself; 2. The restaurant is a goof and has a fantastic view of Lake Tahoe, but is a bit pricey given the somewhat standard fare; 3. It was a bit difficult to carry all of our winter gear etc.... up to our room on the 2nd floor. In the future, I will try to stay in a ground floor unit. Also, it would be helpful if Sunnyside could offer some sort of "bellman service" to assist travelers with loading and unloading gear etc...

The staff were friendly. The restaurant in the lodge is great and it's super convenient to have a perfect dinner after coming back exhausted from skiing. And the breakfast is really good (I'd never had such good breakfast in a hotel in US. I was forgetting how the hotel breakfast used to be in other part of the worlds tbh.)

I wish the room had a microwave oven. We love dining in the restaurant, but sometimes you just want to warm up a leftover you have, or make a popcorn while watching a movie and a microwave oven would be super helpful.

Sunnyside is a classic Tahoe resort with zero fuss and all the necessities. My wife and I and our two kids (10 and 13) shared a double queen and had a wonderful time for New Year's. Our room was updated. The view of the lake was spectacular. It's a sleepy part of the lake which is nice considering Heavenly is just a giant tourist trap. The onsite restaurant and bar saved our bacon. We arrived in the middle of a major winter storm and when the power went out everywhere else, Sunnyside's generator kicked on and we had warmth, food and libations. A nice continental breakfast is included and the downstairs lounge has a wonderful view of the lake. It feels like you're literally floating on the water. Sunnyside is conveniently located near Homewood Ski Resort and Firesign restaurant, both of which exceeded expectations, though don't rent skis at Homewood if you're traveling, they'll take advantage of you. Also, buy lift tickets weeks in advance. We travel often and would highly recommend this place especially if you're looking for a more authentic Tahoe experience. We'll be back in the summer for sure.

The daily breakfast (included) had a lot of high quality choices, great for a quick, nutritious meal before hitting the slopes. The location was great for skiing at Palisades. Junior Suite perfect for three. Would definitely return and recommend to others. Beds comfy. Staff friendly. Clean.

Moldy smell in our fridge closet, shared vent system sent intense cleaning smell into our room from neighboring unit, barking dog in next door unit, sliding door to bathroom was noisy and difficult to slide and close. All minor inconveniences.

The property was in a good location as there were many things in walking distance from the lodge. Next door there was a store that had coffee, pastries, sandwiches, flatbreads as well as other foods, drinks, beer, wine. They had it all! across the street there was a little breakfast place. At marina you could find rentals for water sports.

The breakfast that was included wasn’t really that great. We only ate there the first morning since we weren’t impressed.

Nice lodge on the shore of Lake Tahoe. Comfortable beds, clean bathroom. Rooms a bit dark. Good welcome on arrival. Restaurant good. Dinner good breakfast OK.

Staff generally friendly but in some cases a bit gormless. No guidance or help in fixing activities so I’d recommend looking into that and fixing in advance, the hotel is no help. A good many staff seemed to be gap year students or suchlike. Some of the cutlery wasn’t properly clean.
