Palm Garden Hotel

The hotel has a lovely pool and hot tub which are located in between the buildings making for a more enjoyable experience. Heated beautifully which made swimming even in January very pleasurable. The included breakfast was a great feature although it was rather limited due to the ongoing restaurant refurbishment. The room looked like it had been recently updated feeling quite light and bright. The bathroom facilities were very pleasant to use. For the price that I paid it was an excellent choice of hotel - I visit the area regularly and have stayed in many other properties in the vicinity and this offers the best value for money. It will be even better when the restaurant is finished as presently there are no bar or restaurant facilities on site. I was advised as soon as I booked that the restaurant was being refurbished so top marks for that.

The room I had did face towards the freeway and I found the noise from this a little irritating at times. I would recommend requesting a room facing into the gardens if you want it to be quieter. I would say though that many of the hotels in the area are in close proximity to the freeway.

We stayed here while visiting family in the area. The hotel is clean and well maintained and our room had been updated. We were around the back with a door directly onto the sidewalk, so it was easy to get in and out and we could park right outside. The lot and the walkways felt safe a night and it was quiet. The buffet breakfast was a good version of what you would expect at this price point - coffee, bagels, hand fruit, hotel breakfast eggs and sausage, cereal, oatmeal - served on disposable plates. It was summer and there was lots of outdoor seating on the patio. Very nice. I did not go in the pool, but the pool area looked pretty and there were lots of loungers and places to sit.

I was was pleasantly surprised with the coffee. My family enjoyed the breakfast except the plain eggs were just that. Plain. They would have liked to see more of a variety like waffles and more cut fruit. Otherwise, it was good. All the staff were always busy resupplying the buffet and keeping it clean, all while being very friendly too.

The floors in our room were dirty like they hadn't been cleaned in a while so we asked housekeeping to come in and mop but they still seemed dirty to us. Then, some of the guests near our room wouldn't use the designated smoking areas and would smoke right outside their rooms, which was unpleasant.

We stayed one night when passing through the LA area, we were so impressed we chose to return and stayed our last night in California before flying home to NZ. Check out time of midday is great, meant we could enjoy the sunshine and pool the afternoon we checked in and half the following day. Our AC was a bit noisy the first stay but absolutely no complaints on our second visit. We stayed in both upstairs and ground level rooms and our preference was the ground floor. Great room and well set up bathroom with modern fit out. Pool area and gardens are immaculate. A very attractive property and very nice staff.

Beautiful hotel. We stayed an extra night. It’s in a quiet area away from the hubbub of LA. Staff were professional and really helpful helping us navigate around and printing off information for us. Pool area and gardens were well kept and housekeepers were always polite and friendly. Lots of free parking spaces. Breakfast was plentiful, hot and replenished constantly. There was some building work going on at side of hotel but this in no way affected our stay and builders were respectful with regard to time. Would definitely stay again. There are a few shops within walking distance for snacks, drinks, etc which was useful as the restaurant was being renovated.

Beautiful hotel. Staff were professional and very helpful printing off attraction info for the area. Room was clean and comfortable. The area was lovely and nit too far to drive to coast. Shopping locally. Pool area was great very clean. Breakfast was fresh and replenished regularly. Would stay again as its in a quiet area away from the city noise. Liked so much spent extra night.

Not a huge issue but forgot to mention to staff on leaving that thermostat on shower was an issue with water going from lukewarm to scalding and back to lukewarm which could be an issue if you have children or are disabled and unable to take evasive action. Room 160.

wow I was not expecting it to be this amazing beautiful place I was so worried that I picked a place that it was not going to look like it’s pictures but it does and even better because the beautiful flowers and setting of everything was so nice now the only thing I would have preferred  would had been a different breakfast menu  not the breakfast was bad it was good. I just wish it could’ve been changed up a little bit.

We enjoyed our week long stay at the Palm Garden. It was well located for my trip's purpose and had many good restaurants and stores nearby - many within walking distance. I liked the well-kept garden, outdoor seating and pool/hot tub area which offered a respite from the day's activities. The room was well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was provided. We will be returning to the area in the summer and plan on staying at the Palm Garden Hotel again.

Some more variety for breakfast from day to day -- especially for those of us who are staying multiple nights. But appreciated that the hotel served breakfast.

The room was clean and comfortable. Loved the pool area! The gym room had some basic equipment (treadmill, bike, elliptical and weights) that suited me fine. Plenty of free parking and a Ralphs supermarket next door.

Air con in my room was a quite loud. The breakfasts were basically the same thing every day - plane food style eggs, potatoes and sausage either on a plate or in a burrito. No fresh fruits or healthy options like granola etc. Also everything was in disposable cups/plates/cutlery which created an appalling amount of waste.

The breakfast was very good, the staff was friendly. The room had nice accommodations and it was very clean. The maids were very sweet and helpful. We had travel plans that got held up so we were extremely grateful for the late checkout option. That’s a huge plus for us and is definitely a stand out attribute. We will definitely stay and recommend again because of the late checkout accommodation and everything mentioned above.

The only small issue we had was that there weren’t as many premium channels as we had hoped for. The rate per night was a little high considering there was no option of purchasing room service or premium movies which we would have happily paid extra for.
