What I really enjoyed about Basecamp Boulder was the sense of sustainability and the building of community. The sense of comfort and being 'home' after a long day of exploring Boulder was evident in the amenities offered. Fire pits with offerings of s'more kits, a climbing wall, hot tub/sauna, comfortable open rec room made for conversations, board games and competitive ping pong games. The bar had a nice array of Colorado craft brews, a nice selection of wine and coffees. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The bathrooms had a great shower. And, best of all the location was an easy walk to a variety of restaurants, local shops and the 29th street mall.

This is NOT the hotel's fault. I did not like that a hotel patron backed their truck into a parking spot that was in front of the open window of the room I was staying in. Truck exhaust is no joke. A suggestion; at check-in, a notice to pull in the parking spots, not back in would have been helpful. (I really don't think the person realized that the exhaust went into my room.

The grab and go breakfast was $5 and for that price I got a substantial amount of yoghurt, a large coffee, and a granola bar, other than the coffee it was all pre-packaged stuff though. I liked the fire pits at night and the s’mores kits. The rooms were very spacious and well-appointed. Location is pretty good, there’s a JUMP bus right outside and you can walk to the transit center (about 10-15mins). Getting to the university was super convenient. Also the staff are very friendly and helpful, it feels like a family-run place.

The bathroom is tiny. It’s a converted motel with no elevators so if you can’t climb stairs or have a lot of luggage then you probably want to request for a ground floor room. I never understood how the heater worked but it didn’t bother me too much. The front desk isn’t manned 24/7 and you communicate with the staff via text message afterhours, so if you have no US cell service you’re out of luck. Food is not very conveniently located, you have to either walk to Pearl Hill or to the university areas to eat.

Loved having a bathtub! Felt safe due to the layout being enclosed from the street with my vehicle inside the hotel property.

One night there were some guests talking LOUDLY at the outdoor fire pit area at 9:30 when I had gone to bed. Was annoying, though I didn't know whether Boulder had any noise ordinance which is typically around 10:00 most places. Was thinking of getting up and informing the party that they needed to settle down though I didn't want to get out of bed - I think another guest stomped out to politely inform them. It would have been better had the staff on site told them to cool it, though perhaps she was already gone for the night? My only complaint, and it's a minor one.

We liked how convenient the property was to everything we had planned in Boulder. It was even within walking distance of some things on Pearl St. The bed was pretty comfortable and the staff was very friendly. We really enjoyed the s'more kit and the fire pits.

We had some problems with the TV that took a while, but we were able to resolve without assistance. Additionally, we could hear the steps of the people above us VERY clearly. The seemed to wake up around 6 AM and stomp around for the better part of an hour, which was not really great for my rest. My partner slept though it. If you're a light sleeper, the sound insulation may be worse than average at this property.

Our King room (#101) was incredibly comfortable & well-appointed. It had a seating area & foldout couch, the king bed was like a cloud & the air conditioner cranked on our hot weekend. Fab location to Pearl Street & food/shopping. The jacuzzi & game room were welcome bonuses. But most of all, the staff John & Connor were super helpful & owner Shannon, was terrific. Will definitely stay again - hoping my son will go to UC Boulder.

N/A - really cannot find anything negative to complain about.

This was a very comfortable place to stay, and I had everything that I needed in my king bedroom. There was really nothing lacking. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the place was reasonably clean. The staff was so very friendly and helpful! I really appreciated that aspect.

The lighting in the room was VERY harsh. I get the outdoor/camping themed lamps, but the bare bulbs need to be replaced with softer lighting. Also, the inability to fully open the shades on the lower (ground) level added to the darkness of the room, and, consequently, the need to use the harsh lighting. Also, the carpeting was pretty dirty. This was a tad bit depressing. I feel like the room would have been cleaner if the carpeting was removed, and a wood floor (which could be washed) was installed with rugs or something.

was a fun place to rest head. cool vibe. loved the fire pits

I expected it to be closer to main attractions/restaurants so we didn’t have to drive, but wasn’t. the room had a cool vibe but the bathroom was tiny and the Beadboard on wall was warping, ceiling vent/heater didn’t work, as well as the “light flush” on the toilet. additionally, the wall near sink was clearly water damaged and looked terrible with drywall and paint peeling. disappointed that main common room wasn’t open earlier than 8 am.

I didn't want to be in a big corporate hotel, so I was happy to find this cool and unique motel. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. Great location, in easy walking distance to restaurants and entertainment. Would be a pleasant walk to CU Boulder in better weather. We would have enjoyed the large jacuzzi and sauna, if we had remembered to bring swimsuits.

We could not figure out how to turn off the heater using the dials on the unit or the wall thermostat. It was noisy and the room was too warm for our liking when we were trying to sleep.

Love the location!! and the place has the friendliest vibe! Their bar is open till 10pm and the guests mingle around the fire pits and chat and make s’mores. What bliss! The common parts are brilliant: a huge room w an enormous flat screen, Ping Pong table and rock climbing wall; a smaller room for yoga with a peloton bike too (I was too busy gallivanting/hiking to use much apart from the bar and the fire pit in the evening). I’ll definitely stay again on my next trip to Boulder.

Convenient location with easy parking. Nice alternative to big chain hotels with a good, laid back atmosphere. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Hot tub and fire pits are nice perks! Pour-over coffee packets were so much better than what other hotels offer for in-room coffee.

Sound isolation between rooms and with the hallway was poor - could hear the neighbors talking and the TV running. Parking could be tight in the evenings.
