Wyndham Southbury

We were visiting for a conference, the staff was fantastic at accommodating guests, as many were young children. It was my kids’ first stay in a hotel. They loved it.

The room was very comfortable. I advised the front desk that a prior guest had spilled soda or juice all over one nightstand and remote, the safe was missing a battery and would not close, and the sheers (curtains) had one rod laying on the floor. As they allowed us to check in at noon, I’m guessing they hadn’t finished maintenance prior to our entry. Bed was comfy, all else good.

I loved it we booked this stay for a night just because we wanted to get away from home I enjoyed my stay my fiance enjoyed it the pool was very clean inside outside all around not too many people in the pool at once the lounge was beautiful my son is 3 everyone knows its tough keeping a good handle on a toddler but absolutely everyone was nice other people staying and employees usually I have issues staying in a hotel because of the complaints against my son but not hear everyone was so nice. Its a must visit definitely coming back

Only think I didn't like was we were up all night killing spiders not small ones not medium ones but large ones we had so many in our room but it was so peaceful and so nice there we didn't bother to switch rooms 😊 but too many spiders next time please spray something in the rooms to avoid spiders or any insects or bugs other then that no complaints

The room was very spacous! The bed was very comfortable and the staff was extreamly helpful and pet friendly! The breakfast was good but a littly pricey but I was willing to pay the price for the convenience of having a resturant right in the hotel. I would book this hotel again when traveling.

The pool was small and the pool area was really hot and humid if there was options to vent the room it would have made the pool area more pleasant but the room and the staff made up for the pool.

Room was cleaned each day, which hasn’t happened for the past few years. Breakfast was excellent, if a little pricey. No complimentary breakfast.

Only minor issue was that the curtains did not close. Not sure why they are designed that way, but would have preferred that they were able to close. Would have been a bigger issue if we were on the first floor.

Close to where I was working and shopping/restaurants/highway. It was a very large room and comfortable. Very easy check-in and I could park outside my room window.

It was very cold outside, and the heat automatically turned down to 66 degrees every couple of hours, so I had to reset it a lot to keep warm. There was a convention in the morning, so it was busy and noisy - this was primarily due to my room being located at the end of the entry hall - I'd probably request a room away from the lobby in the future.

it was conveniently located off the highway. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean.

There was no breakfast on one of the 5 days. Outdoor grounds were not kept up (a lost pair of socks sat in the parking lot for the 5 days we were there. It was never picked up). Cigarette butts were not picked up around the grounds. The building had peeling paint. The bathroom exhaust fan did not work. It was reported, but no one came to fix it.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Location is close to where I had to go.

The Main entrance to the Hotel Is not facing the street so I came in a side door where everything was dark and I had the impression that I had entered a construction site because there were men working at the ceiling. Breakfast was not available because the cook was preparing food for other guests in the kitchen and there was no other person to accommodate additional guests.

Comfortable, clean place to rest. I like that the front entrance does not face the street, so traffic doesn't watch you going in and out.

I don't expect ironed sheets, but also don't like many wrinkles. Otherwise bed was very comfortable. Also, odd sort of tapping noise suddenly started around 10:30 from floor by desk wall but eventually slowed to a stop.

The room was clean, the King sized bed was very comfortable. Though breakfast was served from Friday - Sunday, I was there from Monday - Friday. So most days I had to go elsewhere for breakfast. The young man who checked me in was very helpful in meeting all my requests when I told him there was no microwave... I had expected a microwave... had not noticed that the booking.com description didn't mention a microwave. My bad. I really wanted a room with a microwave, especially since there was no breakfast. I don't eat out alot, so I did want to heat up at least one meal a day. A microwave was delivered shortly after I got into my room! That was a big surprise, that I was given a microwave with no further discussion. Gratitude!! BEST OF ALL: there are many beautiful parks nearby to walk in. Every morning I walked in a nearby park before I visited my elderly mother. Two State Parks within a short distance: Southford Falls State Park. Beautiful! Especially since it was Fall. And KettleTown State Park. Each morning I walked in the beauty of Autumn light and color while staying in Southbury, CT at Wyndham on Strongtown Road. I expect I'll stay there the next time I go visit my mother.

That I couldn't get breakfast, and the room didn't have a microwave, but the person in the lobby who checked me in said he'd have one brought to my room, and it was delivered very quickly. The only other thing was the lack of available television channels, but I didn't watch much tv anyway. Minor complaints, I'd say.

The breakfast was ok just missing oatmeal cooked cereal. Also the three of us had to leave early in the morning to attend my graduation but the Manager said they did not have disposable containers I felt he could have been more flexible to help a guests out! He seemed to have a slight attitude. One of the persons in my group was a diabetic.

The room and hallway smelled of cigarettes so there needs to be more deep cleaning of the carpet.
