Holiday Inn Express Southington, an IHG Hotel

Nice lobby area and good breakfast.

The parking lot! Understand that there was apparently drainage work done and it needs to be paved … what it really needs is to be dug and graded first. AND the parking spots need to be wider and more clearly marked! So much wasted space because people couldn’t squeeze into the spots. Also, the room smelled like Febreeze; so what did it smell like before? Better to actually clean the room!!! Very cramped getting in the doorway - and we’re able bodied and not overly large! The wallpaper in the bathroom was applied badly. No worries - with no exhaust fan it will be peeling and moldy soon enough.

Property was fine.

8 needed a second night stay and when I called front desk to do so. I was told I'd have to check out of my current room and rebook. I tried to rebook on the phone, but the staff told me to book through Booking.com as that's how I booked my first night. I booked again through Booking.com, received a confirmation email and when we arrived back at the hotel later that night we were told there was no reservation and that the hotel was completely booked. WHAT! . The night staff states that front desk reps are not allowed to recommend third party agents. Well that was a lie b/c that's exactly what I was told to do. We we offered a biz card to call a.d compkain and we received a bottle of water for our troubles. Thanks so much!

Great location near I-84. The facility was clean and welcoming upon entering and that continued into our room. In the room there were plenty of USB ports available. The walk-in shower was a definite plus for us. The commissary in the lobby is much more convenient than vending machines that require change. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked with a pleasant staff member on duty. This was a welcome change from our bad experience the night before at the Holiday Inn Express in Hagarstown, MD,

The room was not well insulated from sounds from outside and within the hotel. Plumbing noise from other rooms, doors that slam shut, outside traffic noise, and the heat/AC unit made horrendous noise when in use. Had to turn it off in order to sleep but then the room was overheated.

We were nervous when we saw 2 stars. But were very haplpy when we came in. Our room was clean, smelled good and the beds and pillows were comfortable. We even loved the pillows were embroidered with soft and firm. We LOVED the Dove showering products that were available. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We loved breakfast the options. On Saturday they didn't have oatmeal, pancakes, yogurt so that was a bummer.

Have all the food options advertised available

It was a clean, quiet room, close to I-84 but I heard absolutely nothing (my room faced the back, the opposite side from the highway.) The shower was incredible, comparable to high-end hotels at a much higher price. A large flow, and the temperature was consistent from beginning to end. I wish I had known, I would have taken one upon check-in to refresh after my trip! The free breakfast was typical, but fine.

The desk was in an odd position so the chair was right against the side of the bed when seated. I managed, but a larger person might have problems. When the desk wasn't being used the chair was next to it, to allow walking around the bed. If you don't plan to use the desk, it won't be a problem.

I so enjoyed staying in Southington at the HIE! The staff members were extremely helpful, friendly and went out of their way to make my stay as perfect as possible! My room was so clean and quiet, and completely furnished with frig, microwave, coffee, toiletries and more. I would definitely stay again! And last but not least, the morning breakfasts were excellent. I’d rate this place 10+!

I liked everything .

neat, clean and close to where we wanted to go for an event. the beds were super comfy and the shower was so roomy and had great pressure not to mention Dove products too! room had pod coffee maker too which was awesome!

although complimentary breakfast was available and overall pretty decent, the sausage patties and cheese omelette wraps were not very good. so I would stay clear of those options.

I came here for the first time and it was very good feel, the rooms were very clean and tidy, the staffs were friendly, the food was good and I am very happy with the experience. I like the seating area at the back entrance, Good place to chill out with a coffee and relax.

I did not stay for breakfast. It was a late night. Hotel is exceptionally clean and cozy. Staff is great.

The heater/air con unit wasn't working properly. This was only issue and I did let the front desk know. They assured me it would get looked at so future occupant of room does have it working correctly- which is what I asked of them.

Thermostat was still cool optional. I like to sleep in the cold air. Shower pressure was most excellent. Breakfast was very good. Beds were most comfortable.

Clothing from past guest in room closet. Room was way to small. Cleaning was mediocre. Hair on tub and floor. Bathroom had no fan or heat option. TV had no guide. Had to flip through channels and guess what was on.
