Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Deland South, an IHG Hotel

We were here four nights. This is a nice, new, clean hotel. Rooms are in great shape - carpet, furniture, bathrooms. Everything is new and clean. Hotel in general looks and feels well-cared for. Location is very good - everything you could want is in the shopping center next door, and I-4 is only 5 minutes away.

Not much to complain about. I thought the bathroom sink was a bit small, but my wife said it really wasn't. And I can't say I was wild about the sliding "barn door" bathroom door. But otherwise, this is a great hotel. (and for the record, I did not title this review "Wonderful" - booking.com did that automagically)

We arrived at 11:30 pm from an oversees flight. 10 minutes away from the hotel we get a call that they did not have a room for us, which we had reserved 3 days prior for a 5 night stay. At midnight when your exhausted and don’t have a car it’s no fun trying to find a hotel. The man at the desk was polite and kind. It’s not good fault. I blamed the manager for not checking the logs and being aware of the daily availability. This was really a horrible experience compounded by the fact we were exhausted In the end we found another hotel which was through the roof expensive as a last minute booking. We canceled the original 5 day stay and came back the next day with a new 4 night booking. Thank you.

Facility is (more or less) brand new. Supermarket, restaurants and fast-food chains are within a few minutes by car - many parking available at the hotel. Location itself is awesome, just 30min to Daytona Beach, 5min to Interstate 4 and many parks in the near area. I highly recommend Blue Spring State Park! Room is clean and offers a lot of space. Comfy beds, TV, fridge, microwave, and clean bathroom. Hotel staff super friendly. Room service is currently on request (cause of COVID), you can request it on the evening before - no problem here.

Booking.com messed up my booking. I booked 6 nights originally and extended the stay to 8 nights with help of booking.com agency, unfortunately the hotel never got the extension to 8 nights ... Thankfully the hotel staff helped a lot and extended my stay without changing rooms! Thanks!

I liked the small in door pool. Hotel smelled nice too.

I really dislike how much you could hear above our room. ALL NIGHT long was somebody either walking really hard or walking on their heels, or exercising or something. It really sucked. Worst sleep I've had in ages ...when I say all night I mean that, not exaggerating. The sausage patties were dry and inedible. Pretty bad. Gravy had a strange taste and the little cartons of OJ could be colder.

We picked this Holiday Inn Express because it was co chose to our kids and because of its central location to a several retailers and eateries. The staff was extremely helpful with information about the area, and we are looking forward to using them again on our next trip to the area.

Some of the breakfast bar items could be fresher, but it was enough to get you started and the staff was friendly and kept the area clean and stocked.

We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel. The hotel was full so we went to Kiki's. The hotel is located within walking distance of several good eateries.

I received several calls the day I left while still on the road. When I got home I call & spoke to a young lady & stated I received a message about something I left behind. She found nothing. Today I called again & stated Keith left me a message but he comes in for the night shift. This individual didn't know anything about it. Lack of communication among the staff??

This property is very clean and neat. It’s about 15 months old. The best part of our stay is the help and assistance we got from Gina at the front desk, she made our stay memorable. Always willing to go the extra mile. All other employees should learn from Gina. I thought I was the only one that noticed her exceptional service but other family members did. Keep up the good work Gina. “Faleminderit” which means Thank you in Albania.

Pool was cold

Location was great. Last minute booking after family's house we were staying with lost water pressure. The beds were extremely comfortable. Best sleep we had in a 2 week vacation spanning several states. Loved the soft lighting behind the furniture/headboards.

Bathrooms need extractor fans.

I didn't dislike much except that the price per night was higher for Saturday night. Great location and the beds were so comfy!!

Great staff...friendly, helpful. One thing, where the door opened I could see too much light, Crack of light when it was shut and locked. Potentially someone might have seen through, but I hung a towel there.

The King suite far exceeded my expectations. The free hot breakfast was fantastic and the facilities were new and very well maintained. Great place to take the family. The people were very helpful and always had a smile for us.

The only thing that could have been better was that the great indoor pool was not heated and stayed "VERY COOL".
