Best Western Gateway To The Keys - Florida City, Homestead, Everglades

Room was cleaned and serviced daily.Breakfast food was great. Both Night auditors was amazing. All cleaning staff and Fernando was pleasant. Love how they work as a team to make sure the guest is comfortable. The pool was good as well. I wanted to stay a few more days but we just headed to Uptown suites after the breakfast lady had bad service the second time (Not Joyce) can't trust her making food. Shey the only reason we won't be staying again.

The only issue was the breakfast lady NOT JOYCE. Joyce was amazing, polite and meet her expectations for the hotel. The other lady with the ear piece was rude . Did'nt make breakfast enjoyable. I watch her one Wednesday when a little girl ask her something about the waffle maker and she had one BIG attitude, walked around with her face frowned up, when ask questions she ignored or short answered. literally was slamming the equipment from the waffler maker all the way down to the end of the food. She should not be working around guest. Whatever she was mad about wasn't serious to come to work and take it out on people. Nasty worker. Also June , wasn't welcoming. She wasn't mean neither but just answered everything with a BLAHHH.

Our second time staying here and we love the hotel and it’s location to south Florida and the keys, easy drive to anywhere or anything u want to see or do, room is always nice and pool is very nice for the kids only issue we had this time was room service came round one Morning asked if we needed services and we said yes we needed a set of bed sheets and pilow due to a child spilling drink on it, the lady at the door instructed us to leave the dirty Linens outside out door and maintenance would come by and pick them up, so we rolled them together and laid them outside our door as instructed. Well a different lady comes walking by and knocks at out door and starts yelling at us cuz we laid the linens outside like that and we was like the room service lady instructed us to do so, anyways she was getting after us for something we was told to do by hotel staff, so this was very aggravating cuz I don’t pay to stay somewhere to get yelled at by the staff, room and facilities are nice but staff was very disappointing.

Staffs attitude

I have stayed at this hotel many time but always seem to have a problem with your front desk check in manage I don’t know his name but he is from India, he just seems to want to make things extremely difficult I have no problems with any one else I was in room 122 with queen or double bed on ground floor I decided to stay another few nights and booked and payed for it on the first day I was staying there I requested to stay in same room 122 pool view when I booked it , but when I went to desk the following morning I new I was going to have problems when I seen who was working the desk same Indian gentleman manager he told me I could not stay in same room even thow I had booked and payed for it the day before and requested to stay in same room 122 he told me that room had already been booked and the only room he could give me was upstairs on second floor I would have to re pack all my cloths and carry suitcase and two large bags upstairs , what I don’t understand is I did not think when you book a stay in the best Weston florid city you could specify a certain room as I have tried many times to do that I’ve been told I cannot I will be told which room I guess when I booking at the hotel I can request it but not be guaranteed, so how was the room already booked up? When I rebooked the room the same day I moved it for some extra days, I canceled my booking moved to the quality inn across the street and current nice room ground floor with a pool view at least now I know when I’m booking the room on the Internet that I can specify a room number because that is what I was told had been done to the room I was already staying in it seems man nothing I stay in the same hotel every weekend that I visit floria city ‘ would you please get back to me via phone please I would just like it explained so I can understand that I can not specify a certain room, but I’m told I have to move out of my room because somebody else had managed to specify that room I was staying in Keith

Manager on duty at desk as always being as difficult as possible male Indian gentleman’ all othe desk reception people were fine including cleaning staff who are very polite and helpful

I liked it however I am a hotel owner I offer housekeeping daily I had to clean my own room after 4 days of being their. the housekeepers gave me sheets and towels and cleaning supplies. I had waited on the 4th day and was told after asking to have the room cleaned that it will be fine within the next half hour. not so I waited 3 hours and finally decided to search for a housekeeper and get the supplies I needed to do it myself the place was a bit dated the chairs were stained snd the lamp didn’t work but it was still a decent place for the price I would go back again. these are tuff times we live in and I experience the lack of staff in my own business but everyone was friendly. I would give it a thumbs up

A great choice for the traveler on a budget! The location is ideal for those exploring the Everglades or to use as base for a visit to Key Largo and the Upper Keys. Even Islamorada is only 45 minutes away. The room was clean and large enough for a family of four with two Queen beds. There is a second sink outside the bathroom, which is very convenient. The big closet with hangers and plenty of storage space was a nice plus. The free breakfast includes a good variety of items, both hot and cold. The make your own waffles are a huge hit with the kids. There are plenty of parking spaces so you can conveniently park close to your room.

The surrounding neighborhood is a bit on the shady side, so be aware, even though I never personally felt unsafe. There is no elevator so you do have to carry your luggage up the stairs to the second floor. I don't like the motel style doors opening to the outside corridor either.

The location of this place is great. It's central to Miami, the keys, everglades... super convenient. The staff was extremely friendly and thorough. Rooms are generously sized, sofa, refrigerator, microwave, and little dining table. Nice pool view from our room and nicely landscaped. It's definitely not the ritz but it is a great choice and value for the cost.

The parking lot and general exterior of the hotel is poorly lit and a feel a little scary as a single mother with 5 yr old. Without my son, I probably wouldn't have felt as uneasy... I had a huge suitcase with everything for my son and myself, for a week. Definitely not fun lugging it up and down the stairs but not having an elevator seems like a first world problem and I feel guilty being annoyed by it 😬😅

Breakfast was the best we've had staying during the pandemic. They had actual cooked food in a to go box for you (bagel, hard boiled eggs and sausage. You could also get cereal, muffins, yogurt, juice and coffee. The best part is that they didn't mind boat parking and even had water hoses around the facility you could use to wash/flush the boat! The room was much nicer than I was expecting for the price. If you're like us and don't want to spend a lot of money you're probably going to be debating between the Travelodge and this place because they're right around the same price and the same distance to the Keys. We stayed at both this trip and Best Western was MUCH BETTER. Plus being right behind Pollo Tropical was a great plus because you can walk there to grab a quick lunch.

Our bathroom door didn't close... Like at all, it had to stay open. Housekeeping doesn't come every day. Pool was dirty.

The room was clean and comfortable. Other guests were courteous and friendly.

The hotel seemed short on supplies. I called the front desk and asked for two extra pillows, and was told that it would be difficult to locate one, let alone two. No one ever brought any pillows by our room, so I went to the front desk and was able to get one pillow from a disgruntled employee. Our room ran out of toilet paper just before checking out, so I asked the front desk for a spare roll during checkout since my partner and I were still packing up and would still use the bathroom before leaving. Not only did they not provide any toilet paper, the front desk associate questioned my need for a single roll of toilet paper. I found this to be extremely unprofessional, and there should have been at least a few rolls stocked at the front desk in case guests need some at odd hours.

It was clean and fresh and had everything we needed Pool area was lovely with ample beds Breakfast was an added bonus and although a little busy and disorganised it was very good

The rooms were a bit tired and could of done with an update Breakfast appeared very disorganised although it was good Location was a bit iffy to walk around but lots of good things on your doorstep you could drive to

We liked the location as a starting point for visiting Everglades and a trip to Florida Keys. The room was spacious, clean, well equipped. Beds are super comfortable. Free parking available, no complications.

Breakfast was kinda average american, but if you came a bit late, there was not much to choose from and there were also no knives left. The staff was already cleaning and they were not helpful or kind at all. They made you feel like you should leave as soon as possible although officially there was still breakfast time. But that was basically the only turn-off at our stay.
