Loews Chicago Hotel

The property is excellent in terms of rooms, cleanness and location.

The view from the room was not the one shown in the picture at the time of booking. When checking in staff didn’t clarify how breakfast works, which a la carte with a max amount to be spent. The booking confirmation said that breakfast is included and when I asked staff about that they confirmed it. However, when I checked out they said that I owed money spent on breakfast. Lastly, the swimming pool is really tiny.

Clean modern rooms. Very comfortable bed. Professional, friendly staff. Loved the swimming pool and terrace bar (Steeterville Social). Convenient location in nice neighbourhood. Great coffee shop inside hotel. So much to like! Would definitely return.

No complimentary bottled water in room. Yes I loved the outdoor terrace bar but was a little disappointed because it's advertised as a rooftop bar, which. technically it is..... but it's only on 3rd floor - not top of building. It was also difficult to work out how to access this bar area. Wouldn't have known it was there if I hadn't gone to the pool. I had to ask the Concierge how to get in.. Cityscape views from this bar were nice but not much difference from being on the street. That said, the ambiance and good menu quickly overcame a small negative.

Pool was freezing! Even after swimming some laps.

The bedroom we were in had magnificent view on Navy Pier, the river and city which was kindly managed by the hotel upon request. In addition, the bathroom was very spacious and well comfortable. The location of the hotel is one if not the best in Chicago downtown - walk-in distance for most of the areas. Last but not least, the staffs are very professional, look extremely trained and always useful and ready to deal with any requests.

Almost nothing. Just one comment about the accessibility of the swimming pool.

Could barely understand the English of the Argentinian receptionist but she was friendly and helpful. All housekeeping requests for additional towels and other things which was communicated very clearly well before arrival (with a promise it would be there and the receptionist said it was in the room) was not there upon arrival. Very annoying. Service could be improved.

The staff were great - helpful, friendly, efficient, etc. The bed was comfortable - more than most hotel beds I've slept in. Clean room. Overall, no real complaints as it was an excellent stay in a lovely, clean hotel room. Thanks!

The only tiny disappointment was the lotion that was extremely watered down despite having 'creme' in its name. Not a big thing but a mild irritation every time I used it. Oh - and are the $8 bottles of water necessary? Just let people have free water or lower the price to a couple of dollars.The bottles have probably sat in the room for months or years.

perfect location for walking around the city! I also liked how it’s entrance was on a quiet side street so it was very easy to enter / exit hotel without tons of traffic and people walking around your entrance door!

Nothing really…..If I had one complaint it would be that we were never able to enjoy the bar on the 3rd floor because it was always at full capacity. This would have been a bigger deal if I was traveling with my husband because we like to have a glass of wine prior to dinner reservations but I was traveling this time with my daughter so it wasn’t really a big deal. The hotel also has a full bar that is very well staffed and lots of seating in lobby to enjoy an evening cocktail!

Good sized suite, comfy with great views. Clean, housekeeping staff helpful and quick with requests. Staff overall friendly and helpful. Location great for our trip with kids Breakfast included, and was enjoyable. Would stay again, suites good room type for families as you can order in an extra bed (fee) and there is a sofa bed too.

The location of the hotel is very good. The lobby is decorate very nicely and the rooms were ok too. The pool is also not bad. I can't think of anything else.

The staff at the reception desk were mostly unfriendly. They had straight face and just doing the work. Not a kind welcoming attitude that you see even in the worst hotels. The beds are vway too soft and pillows are almost flat. The room had a funny smell, kind of old furniture smell.

We've been to hotels all around the world, and Loews Chicago was one of our best overall experiences we've ever had. the key reasons why are below: - The Suite we stayed in was very spacious - both bedroom and living room had plenty of room for all our things (bags, stroller, jackets, etc...). It also allowed our 2 year old plenty of space to roam. An additional bonus was the huge windows with a great view which our son loved to look out everyday to point out the boats, cars, trucks and buses. - The staff (front desk, concierge, and porters) were all friendly, helpful and always smiling. For example, the 2 ladies at the concierge were helpful but more importantly very friendly with our son. They even gave him a nice welcome package and made sure to give him a special goodbye on the way out. - Location of the hotel was perfect for us - close enough to walk to main sites we wanted to visit: navy pier, millennium park, the bean, and the Magnificent Mile. There's a Whole Foods, Target and Pharmacy very close to the hotel as well. - We felt that the hotel was very family friendly as well - from the staff, to our requests and services they offer. Whenever we would spend time in the lobby, our son always enjoyed it with so many other families around. - The Starbucks in the lobby was also a nice additional bonus!
