The location was very quiet and the room was large. And our hostess, Lorraine, is lovely.

I didn't realize there were stairs only to our room and that was very difficult for my husband. There were homemade chocolate chip cookies in our room waiting for us but, unfortunately, they had been there a few days. It's probably better not to offer them if they aren't fresh. Also, apparently only decaf is served and rather weak. I'd suggest the hosts remove the conventional drip machines and invest in a couple Krups. There was a coffee machine upstairs also but it was always out of grounds. No such problem with a Krups. Breakfast, however, was lovely.

My mother and I really enjoyed our stay with Lorraine and Jan my mother recently had lost her mother my Grandma) about 2wks prior and I kept this visit booked to help my mom ease her nerves and have some much needed mother and daughter time my mother really enjoyed the host of the house the food and we enjoyed our room and how relaxed we felt ❤️ and how at home and welcomed they made us feel this was our 1st stay at a bed and breakfast and it was above excellent!! There was nothing I didn't like

Jan and Loraine are the most hospitable of hosts. The bungalow where we stayed was perfect- very clean and comfortable with all the conveniences we needed. The breakfasts were wonderful, and Loraine keeps all guests stocked in her homemade cookies. It is an amazing place to stay to explore Galena.

It was a little further away from town than I had thought, but it turned out to be a ten minute drive to downtown, so really not a problem, However it is not walking distance to downtown.

Lorraine was a welcoming face at the door as soon as I arrived and continued to make me feel at home to whole time. I liked the choice of coffee table books. The room was very pleasant and I appreciated the small refrigerator in the hall.

The only thing I found objectionable was the strong smell of the bed sheets from either detergent or dryer sheets. For people sensitive to perfume smells you might consider something more natural and less strong.

The breakfast was delicious. I thought it was a nice touch to have recipe cards for meals that you found particularly delicious! Jan and Lorraine were absolutely wonderful. It felt like visiting family.

The bed was a little uncomfortable. It was manageable, but not the best. We did what we could to make it easier to sleep on. However, this was honestly the only bad thing we can say about the place. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time!

Breakfast was five star in my book. I don't think you could find a better breakfast ANYWHERE! Lori and Jan were marvelous and I highly recommend Belle Aire for a most pleasurable stay. We very much enjoyed the breakfast conversations. They were so very helpful to new comers for things to do just ask any time.

There was really nothing to dislike,

Lorraine and Jann were absolutely the best hosts. They were like family. Loved the great conversation and the food was awesome. We stayed in the cozy Victorian room which we loved. Location was great so we could visit Galena and tour the U.S. Grant house. Loved sitting on the deck and watching the world go by. Also loved the pear tree in the front yard.

The creaky bed was somewhat irritating when we were trying to go to sleep but nonetheless comfortable.

The inn keepers were wonderful and friendly. The food was delicious. The conversation was warm and casual. The location was nice and quiet, but also close to town and local stores. They had great books and magazines to look at lots of games to play. Access to 2 outdoor porches with a great view was great, and living room area was nice and homey. We loved the chocolate chip cookies in our own cookie jar in our room, and the candy jars and cupcakes offered all day in the dining room. After staying just 2 days, we feel like we are part of the family.

Didn't like the hard water, but didn't think about that when I booked- it should have been expected for the location. I wish they would offer bottled or filtered water to guests. We are big water drinkers. We had to bring our own. Our pillows were pretty flattened out and it was hard to get comfortable. Overall, the inn keepers made us overlook this.

Lorraine was a terrific hostess! She made us feel so welcomed. This was our first bed and breakfast experience and she made it such a positive one! The breakfast was incredible. The homemade cookies in our room were such a great treat. The accommodations were very homelike. Had brochures and menus of the area and local establishments.

The location was a little out of the way, but not really a big deal.

The location was a short 3-minute drive to town. The hosts were so welcoming and kind. The room was spacious and lovely touches such as freshly baked cookies, local candies were made available and coffee stations available on both the first and second floors. The hosts went out of their way to make sure you were comfortable and had everything you needed.
