Days Inn by Wyndham Dubuque

We love the location, because it is so close to downtown. The room is nice size, and the bed is very comfortable. We enjoy coming here because the pool area is very clean and nice. Also, the bar area is very nice, and the grill is open late if you get hungry. They also have a very nice outside area where you can have your drinks or watch the game on comfortable outdoor seating and a very nice gas firepit. They had live music on Friday when we arrived and also on Saturday. The staff is very nice, and we always meet very friendly people. This is our second time here and we will be back again.

I didn't like that other people are so dirty and leave their garbage in the parking lot for the staff to clean up. There is plenty of garbage containers around to dispose of your trash. So sad that some people are so lazy.

The Jacuzzi tub in the King Suite was very nice, and surprisingly very clean. The pool was very nice, and the main lobby seemed like it had been recently updated.

Like a lot of the reviews said, our room did have an…odor. But it wasn’t terrible. Luckily I read a bunch of reviews and I came prepared with my own febreeze. lol The TV had no hookups, my husband was a bit upset that he couldn’t hook up his Xbox. And they must only have 1 internet router at the lobby, because we barely got a connection in room 301.

Room was clean and neat. Bed was a little soft. Continental breakfast was a little light, but that is a sign of Covid times.

Two signs out front where the street meets what is basically a long drive way. The larger sign was not lit and made it difficult to find. You cannot see the sign from the highway at night and OnStar told me I had arrived and to make a left turn onto the property. I was on highway 20, a 4 lane highway with a concrete divider. So a left turn was impossible. The smaller sign that was lit was difficult to see until you were right on top of it. Just a small, but significant, OnStar problem. Not a problem during the day when the larger sign was visible.

There was problems when we got there they didn't book enough rooms on our reservation, but the lady named Heather made it 100% better. She was very, very nice and actually walked us to the room to make sure the key card worked because at first it didn't. I think Heather should get the customer service award. The lady named Kathy who appeared to be maybe a cleaning lady, and worked in the breakfast area was over the top awesome, accommodating and helpful also. The bar staff and the food was excellent that we ordered late night and they still accommodated. Of course we will stay there again we always do they rock.

I didn't like the fact that the casino didn't pick us up like they used to. It's causing people to drink and drive and that's not good. The cab service wasn't its usual, but yet the Green Cab Service was beyond expectancy they were awesome.

Hotel situated in very pleasant surroundings in a hollow. The building was like the old style Motel accommodation where you parked outside your room, which was great. So convenient to take stuff into room from car. Check in staff very friendly. Some reviews of this place almost put me off booking, so we weren't sure what to expect, but the room was surprisingly nice. We had a non smoking King room which was carpeted, clean and nicely furnished. It had a full length mirror, which is always one of my bonus ticks, Work Desk, Fridge, Microwave, TV Coffee/Tea Maker. There was also two small armchairs, which was a nice touch, but the arms could have done with a clean as they were a bit grubby. Shame really, because they were quite comfortable. The lighting in the room could do with a bulb upgrade, a bit on the dull side! The AC was nice and quiet. Bathroom had a nice long work top to put toiletries etc. Lovely white fluffy towels. Fixed overbath shower. There was a bar area where you could also purchase hot food. The staff here were also very friendly. There was an outside seating area which was very pleasant. The hotel had a good size outdoor pool and area with seats and sunbeds. Our room was at the far end of the property. The area was partly wooded and grassed and had picnic type table seats. Perfect for sitting outside and relaxing with a drink in the evening. Breakfast was a Grab & Go. Muffins, Cereal, Porridge, Yogurt, choice of Nut 'n' Grain cereal bars, Usual juices, Coffee, Tea and Fruit. As with most of the budget hotels we had stayed in on our road trip, you need to be an early riser for breakfast, as once its gone, its gone! Its not replenished and invariably there's no staff to ask for more. For what we paid, we found breakfast choice okay. All in all we found this to be a very pleasant hotel for our one night stop over and would recommend it to fellow travellers.

A very nice, out of the way, location. Quiet and in a good area. Excellent shower (unlike most places I’ve been, it had a proper power-shower) and other facilities such as a fridge and microwave.

I think the only thing I’d complain about is the lack of a light curtain. On the ground floor, it meant either keeping the heavy curtain closed all the time, or leave it open to let the light in and anyone be able to look into the room.

The first room did not have a shower head. We were given a new room immediately.

Coffee machine died the 3rd day. We did not get a new coffee pack on the second day. We had to go buy coffee. The continental breakfast was low by 9am. The pillows on the beds while we were happy there were 3 to each bed they basically added up to one pillow as they were not substantial or supportive

Convenient location. I needed a handicapped room and being able to park at the front door certainly helped. The sloped lead up to the room entrance was nice.

Could not get the room maids to clean up the coffee pot, not leave coffee and cups. Went to the office for help. Finally got that taken care of. Wish there had been a breakfast as the brochure said. When I made the reservation, that was a plus. The Days Inn I stayed at in Joelton, TN. Had a continental breakfast. The Baymont I stayed in at Tuscaloosa, Al had a full breakfast. The one in Normal, IL had nothing.

Good value. I have stayed here about 6 times, going back maybe 30 years, no problems. I'll stay here again if I ever visit Dubuque again.

Probably could use some updating. My home is 100 years old, so I don't expect everything to be brand new. Waffles and eggs would be nice for the free breakfast.

Although I did not receive the extra blanket I requested, I was able to add pillows on tops of me to keep warm enough while sleeping. Bed was comfortable, towels were clean, and location quiet.

The breakfast was a lot of carbs, so not very nourishing. I would like the option of no breakfast as all bread products and packaged preservatives.
