Hampton Inn & Suites St. Louis/Alton, IL

The staff, particularly the manager, was absolutely fabulous in working with me, after there was a problem with Booking.com regarding my reservation.

Booking.com needs to have a better reservation transmittal from its app/website to the hotel. I had to wait over an hour, with the manager's help, before I could get a room. My online reservation via the app never made it to the hotel, thusly the manager had to call Booking.com. The delay was unacceptable. I had to end up cancelling via booking.com and reserve under my regular way.

The area was nice, everything was clean and smelled nice. The front desk was always very helpful and pleasant when being spoken to. They made the stay enjoyable, and we will most definitely do it again.

There is nothing that I can possibly think of at this time that I would change about our stay. Maybe we'll find better pricing next time around, but even that wasn't so bad on such short notice.

The room was nice and large, the free breakfast offered a nice variety of options to choose from.

I noticed some markings on the walls which looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in a while.

The hot bar and coffee bar were generous, fresh, and delicious.

The pool had not been maintained for quite some time, judging by the green water. We were never able to use it, which disappointed all of us after a long day on the road. The children were especially disappointed. We were told that a new owner had taken over and the manager thought about dumping chlorine in, but decided not to. Not sure what's up with the pool but it will require extensive treatment to be usable again, in my opinion. I felt that they should have indicated it was out of order at the time of reservation, instead of claiming it as an amenity.

convenient location, quiet area

my daughter was in need of some pain meds. went to desk and lady working was no help in finding it. she watched her not find it, and offered no help. my husband found it, so why didn’t she help her? the grounds outside could be a little more clean. a lot of cigarette butts.

Staff were friendly. Checking inand checking out was a breeze. Appreciated check-in staff wearing a mask. Room was spacious, beautiful, and comfortable.

The price was steep. We were told masks were required in common areas but only one staff member wore a mask and there was no enforcement of guests. Either require masks or don't but be prepared to enforce any requirements.

The breakfast was great and location was good. The only problem which was a big one was the issue with the payment for the room. I did about 2 hours of research to try to solve the problem. Turns out, it was booking.com who was at fault.

Communication between booking.com and the hotel was very poor. Many people at the hotel worked to solve the problem along with the time I put in at a hard time(we were in town for my parents memorial service and burial)

Very accommodating, they were able to find me a room through a cancelation while I was trying to check in from my booking.com reservation which had over booked as the motel had been sold out for three weeks previous.

Booking.com booked me a room that wasn't available..

The friendly staff was very helpful

The strong Oder of weed. Was through out the hotel. You have a police of no smoking but you allow people to smoke weed. I’m confused. I understand it’s legal in Illinois but wow in Oder is overwhelming. Further there are children being exposed to this in your hotel. Not cool.

Cleanliness of the room and hotel in general. Also staff was very friendly.

Didn't care for the breakfast. The food wasn't very good. The dining area was clean, just didn't care for the food.
