MainStay Suites Northbrook Wheeling

The facility was perfect for our needs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Common laundry facilities were ample, clean and in good working order. The kitchenette was we’ll equipped. The price was reasonable for what we received. We did not make use of the fitness room although it appeared to be ample and in good condition.

The air conditioner was too strong for the room and as a result the environment cycled from too warm to too cool.

The room I got was cleaned and I didn't know that it had a kitchen and a FULL fridge! Overall I would stay again at this place because of the clean room and property.

What I didn't like was I requested to be on ground floor and when my partner and I got to the hotel around 9:30pm, we were told they are out of rooms. I requested to be at ground floor because I had two bikes that I needed to bring in as I didn't want them stolen out of the back of my car.

Staff was very friendly. They picked up a package for me and held it for a few days before I checked in. Free of charge (Vegas most hotels charge a high fee for this) Didnt interact much with them othwerise.

Wifi was extremely slow. It made working out of the hotel hard, and almost zero streaming capabilities at 1.5MB speeds Location is quite remote - No public transport around so make sure you have a car or Uber around.

The personnel were very friendly and helpful. The location was ideal with easy access to the highway. What I really liked was the bathroom. Had plenty of room for all my toiletries plus the bathtub wasn't slippery as most of them are. I know it sounds silly but it does make taking a shower a lot easier. I would definitely recommend Mainstay and definitely plan to stay there again on my next trip.

I liked everything about it

The hotel served its purpose being close to where we needed to be. The staff was very friendly. Room was comfortable and clean.

Very annoyed having to smell marijuana from people smoking in their rooms. Clearly not allowed, but certainly not enforced. We would definitely come back when in town for the price.

I was very happy with the room/price/facilities, etc and the value exceeded my expectations. But on the booking.com and other websites, it said breakfast was included - but it wasn't

the main floor carpet by the elevators could use a cleaning, but otherwise, I was very happy with the cleanliness. I was disappointed that the hotel was represented as including breakfast, which it did not. I understand covid had some bearing on this, but other hotels I stayed at before here provided grab and go or full breakfast buffet.

The curtains are really thick for blocking the sunlight. The water pressure is strong for showers and baths. The staff was pleasant. There are nice walk neighborhoods in the area, and two petrol stations are in walking distance for snacks. Fitness center is open. Coffee was good.

Only one nightstand, inconvenient for two guests. No breakfast at this time, April 12th - April 21st. Most likely because of covid, but figured I'd best comment on it for any readers wondering. My booking confirmation email did say there was a breakfast, so don't trust that if you see it in your email. I suggest specifically asking front desk what date your room will be cleaned. Then on that date, verify with housekeeping. Just to make sure everyone is on the same schedule.

I like the large room with kitchen.

The staff was a bit weird. The garbage wasn't taken out of the hallway for the 2 nights I stayed. The area was out far from stores. Refrigerator made weird noise.

The staff were so helpful, professional and friendly. The size of the room with the kitchenette was perfect and clean.

My only complaint was the pillows. They need new pillows. I needed 5, because the felt like flat balls of fluff.

Checkin with Marisol was very pleasant . Large room, clean. Everything worked as it should.

The only area for improvement was housekeeping would leave trash bags by the elevator
