Staybridge Suites Glenview, an IHG Hotel

Great location in an upscale suburban area with walking paths through prairie preserves and around a large scenic lake. Very quiet and safe area, and a walk or short drive from many shops and restaurants. Lots of car parking spaces. Hotel was attractive and very clean. Rooms were modern, well-furnished and spacious and my bed was very comfortable. Daily room keeping was impeccable. Staff were very friendly and obliging and greeted me daily over my 10-day stay. Breakfast was buffet style with freshly made hot and cold choices, lots of drink choices, with the staff continually replenishing the food stations and cleaning up. Best value for money.

Reception from Betty and supporting staff was top notch. Breakfast buffet was fine, and plenty to good stuff. Love the Social evening, wish it were M to Th, but 3 nights also do, nice touch. Friendly staff and clean. Free Laundry and Pool and the Exercise room, adds to the positive experience. Rooms are large and comfortable. Kitchenette was supplied with everything that is needed.

Walls are not sound proof, neither are the floor in spite of being carpet. Perhaps good pergo o laminate flooring may be better. Windows were fine, not perfect but better than average. Barely I could hear the heavy traffic outside. Temperature could be adjusted and everything seemed to work but it will be nicer to have a better organized cleaning schedule for guests that are staying 3 nights or more. Also I would add cold and hot water dispenser in the great room as well as in the Exercise room, where actually there was an old water dispenser but no cups.

The room was great. The kitchen was very useful. I made coffee in my room every morning. I could have had coffee in the lobby, but preferred to make it in my room. Great place to relax.

My room was above a mechanical room. I should have asked for another room for my weeks stay. But this particular room was noisier than most. I would think that every other room is nice and quiet. BTW, my room was 235.

Breakfast was great! Perfect location for our plans also 99.9 % of the staff were very friendly and had positive energy.

The breakfast lady, it could just be her personally or she was just having a bad week when we were there not sure , she wasn’t approachable and seemed a little grumpy at times but the food was great!! Also that our room could not be serviced even after we asked we were there 4 days with children and could of used a cleaning we were told we had to be there for a week to have it cleaned.

The location, the cleanliness and the staff! The breakfast was really good too!

Our bathtub in our room would not drain. It had water standing in the tub for hours as it drained. I complained to the front desk she wrote it down and they didn't come until it was time to check out that was very frustrating paying almost $200 a night. We were there for two nights and this happened the first day we were there.

Super helpful staff. My flight arrived early and I had to take a few work calls while my room was being set up. Not only did the delightful woman at the front desk expedite early check-in, but she offered to bring me coffee, helped me find a quiet work space, and came over to the business center to let me know when the room was ready, bringing her mobile tablet so I could check in without interrupting my call. Truly exceptional.

Honestly, everything was great. It’s a great place to stay - comfortable, close to food shopping, free washer/dryer, and with walking trails and a nature center behind the hotel. It’s our place of choice when in the Chicago area.

We checked around at other long-term stay hotels in the area and the Staybridge had the most beds per suite for our 5-person family. The breakfast is fine, and the place felt clean. But what I really appreciated was that the management was flexible and accommodating when we had special requests. I felt they went above and beyond and that was great.

The hot breakfast food--individually wrapped mcmuffin-style sandwiches or similar--is okay at first but doesn't vary much day to day and it gets old. But the other breakfast stuff they have--yogurt, granola bars, cereal, bagels, muffins--was good enough for us.

From check-in to check-out every staff member encountered was pleasant and very helpful. The little things like trash/recycling on every floor were really great. Then items provided in the kitchen were great. Even had storage containers for leftovers.

The staff were great! All were friendly and helpful when needed! Breakfast was really good!!

We had problems with the water, mostly in the kitchen but also in the vanity sink. When you turn on the cold water, you only get hot water. Even if you let it run for a long time. We did report it and they said that they would send up a plumber. But we were gone all day, and when we returned the water was the same.

I left néw unworn sweaters, slacks etc as I had lost weight since these new purchases and left a note: for the maids / front office threw everything away; not even a thought of others on team or donating! :(
