Cobblestone Inn & Suites-Winterset

Very clean, friendly front office lady who told us all about the covered bridges and other things to see. Lovely decoration with local photos and quilt in the corridors.

Plastic cutlery and plates, and even orange juice in plastic cups. Very limited breakfast options and the girl attending looked like she’d rather be anywhere than in the breakfast room - she did not bother to add bagels or any pastries when they were finished. And there is no elevator so you may take this into account if you are elderly or have heavy luggage.

The hotel was great! The staff was Amazing! The room was comfortable. The hotel was really clean. We also really enjoyed breakfast! It was delicious!

The only downfall to this hotel was there was no pool or hot tub. We knew this when we booked it so it wasnt a surprise. But still disappointing.

Nice-looking and very straightforward hotel, we spent a night here when we came to Winterset to visit the Bridges of Madison County. We booked and dropped for the night. It was a lovely setting from the opening to enter the building to the wonderfulness of being right near the outside door for easy escapability when we didn't want anyone to know we were gone. It's basically a comfortable Holiday Inn Express-type hotel. Greeters and workers there were very professional and kind. We stayed one night then went on our way. Highly recommended and a good bargain for the price, too.

I have zero complaints about the hotel.

Easy to find, loved having the lounge with very affordable food and drinks. Having been traveling for 2weeks it was quite nice not to have to search for a place to get something to eat. Currently so many restaurants on our travels were not open or had very limited staff. The breakfast was good as well. Room was clean and comfortable. Ice machine was just 2 doors down but never heard it with the door closed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was maybe a mile from John Wayne birth place museum. This was a plus.

Convenient location, easy to find, friendly & efficient staff, clean room with lots of space, well arranged bathroom, microwave & refrigerator, options to buy snacks or forgotten items, the BEST continental breakfast.

All the guests I saw wore masks and observed social distancing. The breakfast was excellent--good variety, very tasty, socially-distanced. The property is close (within about a 10-minute drive) to all the covered bridges and other places of interest. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The price was reasonable for the accommodations provided. We definitely got our money's worth.

The ceiling insulation between the first- and second-floor rooms isn't the greatest. Our room was on the first floor, and we had--and heard!--considerable foot-pounding as the people above us navigated their space.

The location was perfect for us on our way from MA to CA. We wanted to see some of the bridges of Madison County and the hotel was perfectly situated on the scenic byway. Breakfast was good…we always take to go.

No elevator. I knew this in advance, but it is inconvenient.

We loved everything about this place. From the friendliness of the staff to.our accommodations. It's perfect location to go site seeing and view the bridges and other attractions was ideal. I HIGHLY recommend it here and would have to say it is one of the best places I have stayed at in the past 10 years in any USA hotel. They have plenty of literature on sites but don't forget to stop at Ben Franklin store ( closed Sundays) and quilt museum. This area would be a great retirement option ! Definitely coming back to this hotel when the grass is green instead of winter time ( although it is beautiful in winter also). Can't wait !

We LOVED EVERYTHING about this place ! The 2 gals that attended to us ( Kim and Pam) were not only kind but went above and beyond for us. If I had to say anything bad it may be that parking lot needed to better lit. Handicap parking not really close to main entrance.

the breakfast location was perfect. The options were good. Staff were very helpful suggesting a place to eat. We were able to ck in a little early and that was wonderful. Our room was very comfortable.

the scrambled eggs were artificial and not hot. They were cool. The shower head needs replacement or adjusting.

The beds were very comfortable. The full continental breakfast was very good with a lot to choose from. The location was very convenient.

The carpets could have been cleaned and/or vacuumed better. I felt sorry for the staff person who was working cause no one else was there to help her out. She did the best she could for being alone.
