The Lodge at Russell - Russell Inn

There was homemade sausage/hashbrown/egg/cheese casserole and homemade coffee cake both days we stayed here (in addition to the usual hotel breakfast items). Staff were friendly while we were in the lobby eating breakfast.

The walls are a bit thin. A man in the room next to us was on the phone having a conversation at 4:30 in the morning and we could hear every word.

New updated room appearance. Friendly staff. A/C great. Exterior lighting great. Clean linens/Bath towels and offers a rag for clean up you should not do with the regular towels and washcloths. Soaps that appropriately are sized for short stays...less waste.

TV stuck on higher channels and could only access 7 of the lower channels for viewing in one room and the other room the Guide came up and had a delay on 30 seconds before going to the channel. Shower head in second room leaking water out the side. Continual squeaking door sounds ,but not from a door. Bathroom appeared to have multiple cosmetic repairs from ceiling to drain in shower.

Convenient location - there is a Walmart and lots of food nearby. The rooms were excellent, especially for the price. Very clean, and there were a lot of little conferences we didn't expect. We had a giant walk-in double shower that was awesome, although it cut between all hot and all cold every 30-60 seconds or so (probably when someone elsewhere flushes a toilet.) Staff was super friendly and helpful and facilities were nice. Breakfast was pretty good for a hotel breakfast.

Keep in mind that there is no elevator, and because of how the parking lot is set up, you may have a walk to your room, and then up exterior steps. Not a super long walk, but keep it in mind if you're traveling with someone who is handicapped.

Liked the decor in the room with the quilt on the bed. The breakfast was the highlight of the stay! Wide range of tasty selections from scrambled eggs and sausage to fresh waffles and cinnamon rolls. The friendliness of the staff added to the enjoyment of the stay.

There needs to be better lighting in the rooms. The lighting was dim with a marked yellow cast. The lighting around the bathroom vanity was especially bad; it was impossible to apply makeup in the dim, yellow light. The paucity of towel racks in the vanity area was inconvenient. There was only 1 small metal hoop available for hanging towels.

Rooms were spacious, clean, and well designed, including bathrooms. Beds were comfortable. The building is rustic and well maintained. The restaurant is spacious and served an excellent (included) well-laid-out breakfast. There are reasonable quality restaurants nearby. We stayed in 38 different hotels/motels over 45 days and, all things considered, I would say this was the best of them all.

The landscaping around the hotel could be improved but, for our purposes, we had no complaints.

The breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold options. The kids enjoyed the pool and the game room. I really appreciated that they had room options with 3 separate beds. It’s convenient to the highway and there is a grocery store and several fast food options nearby. Felt safe. Comfortable beds.

The room smelled a little doggie (?) at first. But once we turned the AC on the smell dissipated. The shower pressure was a little on the low side.

We are on our way back home and found this lodging on our way to WA. Hidden Gem! First, if you are looking for a 5 star hotel, move on. This place is for those who like a great travel bargain, a clean place to sleep, secure, and with a good breakfast. Our room, 106 was clean, mattress was very good, good air conditioning and lots of towels. Microwave and larger fridge/freezer…..yea!!! Yes, there is several older items in room but clearly taken care of. Again, it’s like your family room down in the basement or at your camp. You get what you paid for and we got a very good price. Dylan at the front desk was very nice. I especially liked his attitude. They were able to get me into a ground floor by luck, which was good for my old body. Another gentleman assisted me with a bathroom issue, it happens but jumped on it immediately and resolved it. We loved that there were other families here along with kids for my niece and nephew to swim with. Nice big property. Like your back yard with a pool setting. Breakfast was good. Being a southern girl from birth, get the biscuits at breakfast. Yum. They are like my homemade one. Overall, good customer service, warm and friendly and my niece little pup loved it here. He was able to have a huge patch of grass off to the back for his business. We had two other small dogs but kept them in their kennel with air conditioning inside our vehicle. We didn’t want them to bark if anyone was walking around. They tend to be protective and didn’t want to cause any problems with other guest. Overall, looking for a good place to stay, I highly recommend this lodge. You will enjoy a bit of the good old days️ Sincerely Rhonda 7/8/2022

It would had been nice to have a small table and chair in room.

The staff was very pleasant. The breakfast was one of the best we have had at a motel. The owner’s wife greeted us and made the stay even better. I would consider it a delightful experience.

Staying at the motel was like going back in time. The rooms face the outside rather than a hallway. A two-story with no elevator made it difficult getting this elderly couple into the room. However, the room was very clean, all equipment worked (tub drained, stool flushed, AC was cold, hot water was hot and the cold water was cold - all said, the stay was very pleasant. We will choose this over more expensive rooms, but I will call ahead in time to get a lower lever room.

Good price, Friendly staff, Wonderful breakfast variety, Clean cozy rooms. The overall "Lodge" feel and decor is very charming. Power strips mounted to each side of the TV cabinet to make up for lack of wall outlets were nice for cell phones (although by the beds would be better). A mat for shoes by door and an extra rag for dirty jobs (with a note explaining it's to save the white towels) were excellent ideas I've not seen before. Would definitely stay here again.

Limited TV stations (but if keeps the cost down, I'm ok with that). Side table lamp was so large we had little room for our things (including C-PAP machine) but we're told there are still some renovations to be done (including new mattresses) so I don't want to over critique things that may be upgraded soon. It will be nice when they get the parking lot paved though.

Staff was great! The beds were very comfortable, nice TV,shower did the job. Very nice room. The pool was filthy,with a bad oder. I messaged the front desk and they closed the pool.

The pool was green and smelled funny. It was filthy and we only put our feet if for a moment. Took a shower so the smell went a way. Took chairs from pool to sit outside our room. Flys everywhere!! Can't help that.
