Baymont by Wyndham Hays

Bed comfy. Linens & towels all clean. Couch is nice addition for seating along with desk & chair. Enough furniture in the room. Plenty of lighting & outlets to charge devices. Fridge w freezer & microwave. Freezer needs to be defrosted. TV okay; some channels don't work. Saw in another review the same issue. So, why hasn't it been fixed? Bathroom clean with good shower & hot water. Vanity fine. Toilet paper & tissues were stocked. Breakfast was good. Puja was at the Front Desk when I checked in and she was professional, helpful and pleasant. The woman who was there on 5/9, when I checked out, did not smile, spoke one word answer ("no") in response to a question I asked, and was not friendly or helpful. She needs to be terminated, or become more professional, helpful and friendly in a front-facing customer service position. And, the difference in her attitude and Puja's were like night and day. Puja is the best. I asked to speak with the Manager, Mr. Bhakta, because I wanted to know if he was related to Roger Bhakta in Salina, KS. He is not related, but knows of him. Mr. Bhakta at Baymont and I had a pleasant conversation. I would have mentioned the issue with the employee, except she was standing right there when I was speaking with him. All-in-all, as I said to Mr. Bhakta, a pleasant stay. I recommend Baymont, and I would return in the future. Good value for the price!

Freezer needs to be defrosted. TV channels need to be as advertised - those not working need to be fixed. The Front Desk employee on 5/9 needs to be terminated, or she needs to immediately become professional, friendly, and helpful to guests.

We have family in Hays. This is our go to property because of the king suite with spa tub. We reserve it any time we need to stay in Hays. It's clean, pretty, and the convenience of having a spa tub in room is worth the extra $. We needed extra pillows and blankets, the staff ran them right down to our room.

Breakfast area was lacking. Other properties we have stayed at this summer have already gone back to offering full breakfast. There was 2 flavors of Walmart brand yogurt, juice, packaged blueberry muffins and honey buns, 2 bananas, a basket a of sad, tiny apples, coffee, and packets of quaker instant oatmeal.

Bed and Room was clean. Only issue was that the front desk said "Full Breakfast" upon check in. Then saw a sign later that said no HOT breakfast. Didnt really expect HOT, but after being told on check in that it would be. Then it was expected. Funny, we drove north to Phillipsburg from Hays, stayed at the Rodeway Inn. And had a HOT breakfast there............

We were only looking for a one night room on a cross country trip. These hotels work great. Wasn't really looking for anything grand just a nice comfortable place for a reasonable price. It was clean, comfortable and right off the highway.

Room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.

Not sure if we'll stay there again as the rooms all face the outside and when people walked by they were very loud. And the guy next door would go out to smoke and talk loudly on the phone at 11:30 at night.

The room was really clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was located right off the highway and close to several places to eat. It was comfortable and quiet.

The motel was a little tricky to find. We missed it the first time.

The breakfast was good, room was clean, and the staff was friendly. We shower had great water pressure!

Nothing really to complain about....it is an affordable, pet friendly, hotel off I70 so it is what I expected.

Location.

Outdoor only access. No ramp or elevator to get heavy luggage up the stairs, no coverage from the rain, ice machine and area felt unclean.

Comfortable room, well cleaned, nice "extras", convenient to highway.

I think the carpet needs to be cleaned. I had my shoes off and my socks were extremely dirty.

The room was clean and we’ll keep. Breakfast was adequate for a continental breakfast. Price was right and I’d stay there again for that price.
