Holiday Inn Express Slidell, an IHG Hotel

The gentleman at the desk greeted me promptly when I walked in. He was very friendly and made the check in process swiftly and easily. He and another lady established rapport with me asking where I'm from etc. This was a very nice touch (getting to know your guest like this) It made me feel welcomed. The room was very clean, smelled good. The water pressure and temperature was absolutely amazing. The breakfast area was clean and the food was good. The ladies were constantly out checking the area and restocking the food as there was a crowd there eating.

Breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast we ever had. The bed was super comfortable. Well-lit parking area. Friendly staff that was always helpful. For once, a hotel room with plenty of outlets for our phones, fans, etc. The whole hotel was spotless clean. We really didn't find anything we didn't like.

Only being nit-picky, but having a tub for our toddler instead of just the walk-in shower would have been good. She still enjoyed the shower though! Honestly we couldn't think of anything we didn't like.

Great breakfast bar - wonderful staff - went for a soccer game that got cancelled last minute, decided to stay anyway and had a great time. Staff recommended a wonderful restaurant on the harbor - my grandson enjoyed our "unplanned, mini" vacation so much.

The only flaw is when you pull out the sofa bed you have to move furniture around before you can open it.

Our pickup, along with two other vehicles, had been broken into the first night we stayed there - smashed the passenger rear window but nothing was taken. The manager offered us a free night stay if we needed it, as she said this had never happened before at their hotel. As it turned out we couldn't get our window fixed until the following day, so we took her up on her offer. Any video they had was turned over to the police to see if they could determine who was breaking into vehicles. The hotel was very accommodating to us.

The fact that the video wasn't clear enough because we were parked way back in the corner because we were pulling a trailer and the window smashed was on the side of the pickup farthest from the camera so they weren't able to really get a good description of who was breaking in. Maybe more outdoor cameras would be helpful.

Everything was great! The staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. Our rooms and the entire facility was very clean. The area was well lit and felt very safe. We definitely stay here again the night before our next cruise out of New Orleans.

I was extremely happy to be able to book at this excellent hotel at the last minute. My first night in Slidell was at another hotel that was not up to my standards for cleanliness. The minute I walked into their clean reception area and was greeted by their friendly staff, I knew that the rest of my stay would be getting better. My thanks to the very capable and friendly staff.

Very tasty, hot, attractive breakfast food was served in a clean, organized, and friendly manner.

Could not find light switches when entering the dark rooms. Not a big thing. The bedding did not smell fresh. The mattress and pillows were comfortable and the linen was clean but there was an odor and I think it was the mattress. Old, maybe?

It was a quiet stay. The staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast had a great variety.

Not enough space to sit and eat breakfast(specifically when people are done and decide to sit and talk).

Not a “property” issue… I didn’t know that the city of Slidell has brown-tinted water. It caught me off guard but a simple google search reassured me that it was safe.
