Best Western White House Inn

Our stay at the Best Western White House Inn was wonderful. The rooms were clean and spacious and the staff were all very friendly and helpful! The location of this hotel was perfect! Right off of route 95, just a few minutes from downtown Bangor and about an hour to an hour and a half from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park! We also really enjoyed Dysart's Restaurant located right next to the hotel at the truck stop, the food was delicious!

The only thing we didn’t like was that you could occasionally hear the interstate traffic in the room late at night and early in the morning, but that’s to be expected where you’re located right off the interstate!

The staff in the breakfast room area kept taking food to the back early @ 8:45am instead of 9:00am. I do wish they had breakfast till 10:00am to give everyone a chance to get breakfast. Also staff in the breakfast room would stand and stare at people if they would get more items right before 9:00am. She made a couple so uncomfortable that they left without getting anything. However the rest of the staff at the hotel were very nice and friendly and very helpful. Thank you.

Everyone at the facility was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast provided a great variety and was well stocked. The location was perfect for us and provided convenient access to family who live in Hampden.

These are minor issues. The hotel seemed a bit dated and the room smelled a bit musty. The windows were an older model and the latching didn't seem very secure and since we were on the ground floor, that made me a little nervous.

This was our first stay at Best Western White House Inn and we stayed in one of the theme rooms. The decor is beautiful, the massage chair and whirlpool tub is must, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The young lady in the breakfast room was very attentive to all the guests that came in and ensured there was enough of everything the whole time we were there. The variety of breakfast foods was a shock - there is just about everything you could want! The front desk staff was great.

The hallways were unbearably hot. We were unaware that there was a free gift basket in the theme room. We became aware of that after our stay. There were limited towels and washcloths. The second day we had one towel each. This was a bit inconvenient given that we had a whirlpool tub in the room and needed to shower. There was only three coffee pods in the room and two of them were decaf, however staff at the front desk were happy to give us more when we asked. They also provided us with a hair dryer that seemed to be missing from the room. The dislikes of our stay were small but sometimes its the little things that put a place over the top in terms of rating.

The massage chair remote was partially damaged. Didn’t work properly. Breakfast food quality was lacking. While it was wonderful to have a full breakfast and not just continental, it was obvious the food was not prepared, it was all boxed/frozen or fast food quality.

We liked all the employees, who were very friendly & helpful. We like that the property is close to Dysart’s, since we love their home cooking. We’ve stayed here several times in the past, so we definitely liked it well enough to return.

We didn’t care for this particular room which has a window in the roof that cannot be covered completely. Since the sun comes up early in Maine, we got light in our room very early in the morning. The mattress was lumpy & the drawers on the nightstand opened on their own. Also the door we had to open to get to the refrigerator was rickety & hard to open, causing the refrigerator to move around when we tried to use it. There was a loud, thumping noise when people in the rooms around us would run the shower. We didn’t complain about the room while we were there, so that’s on us.

You can tell the building is a little older, but it’s beautiful and well cared for. Staff up front was very pleasant. There was also a tiny store area up front for any last minute things you may need.

We didn’t try the pool, we were mostly looking forward to the spa area (hot tub). It could’ve been a lot hotter, felt lukewarm more than anything, but it was still nice after driving all day.

The Staff was Friendly & Helpful. I loved the "White House". Just what you'd expect to see, All the Presidents lined the walls. The decor was great. They have an Amazing Breakfast, which Exceeded my expectations. The pool looked great. Unfortunately, we didn't get to use it.

Everything was Great. The location wasn't near any attractions or local restaurants. Still worth the experience🙂

For the price of the room I would have thought it would have been upgraded a bit more. I am hoping it was sanitized before I arrived. As a guest one has no way of knowing.

I thought the price was high but compared to similar places it was about the same. Everything was fine but thought for the price it should have "felt" better. The price was high compared to the last time a few years ago.

The room was very clean and spacious. The beds were extremely comfortable. The staff that I interacted with were very helpful and very pleasant. The breakfast was very good and their were many choices.

The hot water was not hot, it was lukewarm. As for the breakfast it would be nice if there was a hot cereal such as oatmeal.
