This was such an amazing place to stay. Even though I was a nurse spending the night by myself the history of the Inn captivated me. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I was welcomed. I was checking in after a long shift and it was after midnight. I had a rough night and I didn’t have a cell phone charger but it was too late for me to find one. Kayla, the night shift innkeeper, literally gave me her personal phone charger for me to use for awhile. It turned out the clock in the room I had just needed a usb and not to plug she just gave me. While I know it’s not a huge deal, that was such a nice thing for Kayla to do in the middle of the night for me. All the staff make my night/day. 😊

I have stayed at Carrollton Inn several times. I’m not picky so I guess these are more suggestions. : 1. I wish bathrobes are provided instead of asking for them. 2. I wish breakfast could start at an earlier hour (however I know this isn’t feasible given staff hours). 3. I would love it if guests could get a tours of the building and all the history behind the Inn.

the 1840' decor was historically intriguing as were the patio and gardens would love to tour the gala venue! i am a finance professor and enjoy history and art. Best Ed and Sylvia Fleck

there should be something in the property description about the rooms facing Albemarle very noisy especially early am. we requested snd were given room 102 much quieter. Also the refrig was noisy such that we covered it with a towel! we missed the opportunity to try the ornate double tub with lovely local birds depicted - I recognized a red breasted grosbeak only one of which I saw one at our birdfeeder last week!

Carrollton is a lovely quaint Inn where the staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is calming and comfortable. Very nice room which was clean and had all amenities. There was breakfast included and you have the option of delivery to your room ( my choice). Quiet grounds and a warm home away from home feeling. I would definitely return for a longer visit.

The only con I experienced was that while sitting in the courtyard I was bit by mosquitoes (Uugh) not prepared for that. Next time I’ll take precautions. The property was wonderful.

I will recommend BUT...... Had issues with prope rty mgt. broken toilet seat, charged $75, wasn't when I left. Breakfast great. Staff nice and accommodating. Tub great. Pillows were pancakes. Interior design well....great but realized overpriced. I still had a great time. Right of line of don't walk around at night around area. Ordered food. Grubhub had address at 845 Lombard St. UGH. Had to recall Grubhub and correct food. Midnight staff/Mikalaya recommended SilverSpoon diner for food. AWESOME!!! Horshoe Casino, horribly dirty. Otherwise great location 1840s Carrollton Inn for peace and quiet. ME time.

OVER PRICED. Had issues with property mgt. broken toilet seat, charged $75, wasn't when I left. Pillows were pancakes. Noisy neighborhood.

Though the neighborhood is still a little dicey, (there was some disturbance in the street between 2 and 3 in the morning,) the hotel was fine and secure. We were very happy with the two folks at the desk: Margo, who checked us in, and who recommended a fine eatery down the street, (La Tavola,) that we liked a lot; and Devon, who greeted us in the morning, served us a fine breakfast in the courtyard, and was a great conversationalist. We had a fine ‘stay.’

Our bed was very comfortable, but a little noisy every time we moved. (But we have one like that, too.)

What a charming little inn! Above all, awesome customer service, which isn't even something I usually care that much about in non-luxury hotels. But everyone on staff was easy to reach, knowledgable, accommodating and friendly. It was such a pleasure to stay here. Cute digs, comfortable, clean room, jacuzzi tub, great free (and very filling) breakfast options, lots of little extras... WiFi was fast and reliable and location was pretty central. I once sold antiques and am a fan of vintage and antique decor, so that was a bonus-- though do note that most of the *in-room* decor-- at least in the Senator's Room-- are reproductions. Which-- of course they would be, but just FYI.

Any quibbles are *extremely* minor-- I had no real complaints, it's more that there's a tiny bit of room for improvement. The "biggest" issue I had was that there was no floor-length mirror in the room. Not a lot of place to put one (not because of the size of the room, but the layout)-- but maybe on the front of the closet door or the back of the bathroom door. Something grippy on the bottom of the marble/tile shower floor would be awesome-- I didn't slip, but I almost did once. And maybe a couple of extension/power strips to make up for the fact that there aren't a lot of outlets in the room-- I'm sure because it's an old building. All minor issues that didn't affect my overall excellent experience!

Our overall stay was very nice! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was presented nicely, tasted wonderful, and was portioned well. The courtyard was very nice, I enjoyed being able to eat breakfast outside.

My only real complaint was that there was a lack of accessible outlets to plug our phones into. I didn't find the pillows very comfortable and the bath towels were rough however that's more of a me preference problem...not a hotel problem.

Staff went out of there way to bring breakfast to the room every day. All staff was top notch and quick to respond to any needs or questions. Staff was always ready and able to assist in a professional manner whether it was morning or very late at night. I’d recommend staying here to anyone. Lots of private grounds to enjoy when there wasn’t a prom or two weddings going on.

Staff knew nothing of the connections of the property and adjacent museum. Hotel was never actually part of the Carrollton estate and he and his family never lived in the hotel. Found that fact out after we figured out how to book a tour of the museum located on the property with the city. It’s very misleading to imply your staying in the home of Carrollton when that is completely false advertisement. The “gift shop” was unrealistic and unattended. Serious consideration should be made to clarifying the lack of connection between your property and the actual historical figure you are capitalizing off of dishonesty. This seems to be common practice among the hotel industry unfortunately.

Breakfast in the courtyard was fantastic, room was quiet and beautiful, location was perfect... we could walk to every place we wanted to go. But it was the staff that made this place exceptional.

Well, the whirlpool tub had no directions except a warning about the fill line... long story short, my experience in there could have been a scene from I Love Lucy!

The stay itself and hospitality of the staff was outstanding.

Completely unresponsive to my requests to cancel to the point of deliberately ignoring me. I attempted to cancel as my mom passed away just a few days before the planned trip and a storm that made travel hazardous. I received not even an acknowledgement of my requests despite multiple attempts to engage. extremely disappointing that I had to force myself to travel in spite of my grief over my deceased mother due to a lack of compassion and communication from the establishment or lose 200 dollars.
