Hilton Garden Inn Solomons

The awesome aspects: The lady at the front desk was amazing, both at check in (around noon on 6/30) and checkout. The room was very quiet, clean and cozy as well. And the bed was so comfortable. The pool was a salt water pool; the outdoor pool was open, so the indoor pool was closed, which was fine. The pool was also open late as a bonus-- until 10pm. It may have been heated, as it was not freezing-- still cooler than I would have liked but you get used to it. They accepted our quiet, chill dog for $50 as well, and generously allowed for an early check in and a late check out. And the kids (5 and almost 7) loved it. I would stay here again.

While minimal, we were surprised by there being no water bottles given at check in. I was very thirsty as well, but this was just a bit surprising. I also thought I saw that a restaurant was listed, but there was no restaurant, just a bar. Still, there were plenty of restaurants nearby, so this was not a deal breaker. My husband mentioned the breakfast "chef" was pretty grumpy and frustrated. Aside from this, there were no issues. And I rated the staff as excellent, because the front desk lady was so welcoming and amazing.

How clean the hotel was even though it was going through renovations. Staff were very friendly and were willing to help in any way they can. Room was a nice size and very clean

Because of the renovations there were things that were not available like breakfast or a bar area but we were able to make do. We did notice that the pool was not as clean as far as leafs and trash in the water and seemed a bit over corified

No breakfast available at this time as they are still renovating. Inside,except for a few areas, the hotel looks brand new. Bed was very comfortable, room was clean. Staff are attentive and helpful. Outdoor pool was open. Indoor pool and fitness room still being renovated. Laundry room (for hotel guests) looked like it was ready. Lobby is modern and spacious with multiple sitting areas - very inviting. Ample parking.

The check in via app the night before* (see below though). The staff were all very helpful. - the hairdryer looked crusty and didn't work at all, and within 5 minutes of calling someone showed up with a brand new one. We requested extra pillows and were able to get them from the front desk promptly. We came back to the hotel with takeouts and needed a place to eat. The staff graciously allowed us to use the dining area, and upon finding out the restaurants forgot to give us utensils, the manager found some for us. The 12pm checkout time was generous. The facility was clean and well maintained. The pool hours were great.

I used the online app to check in the night before and purposefully selected rooms that were right by each other based on my family's need. However, upon arrival, upon pulling up my digital key, I found that one of the room was changed to another floor. I was told that the manager did so because another guest needed to stay 5 nights so in order to not make that guest switch rooms, they gave one of my original room away. I would have at least appreciated a phonecall asking if that is possible, where I might have been able to choose alternative rooms that were right by each other. Front desk could use a call bell - sometimes I had to call the number in order for someone to know that someone is waiting for help.

Parking costs not told about beforehand. Had to ask for glass glasses as all the room had was plastic and cardboard. No fan in bathroom and no way to open the window rather than use the AC. After Covid, fresh air should be available in each room!

In past Day trips to the area, I had admired the “big hotel on the hill” and secretly wished to stay there. When this later actually happened… the place did Not Disappoint in any way !! My stay there was absolutely a joy in every way.

From the first greeting at the door. The wonderfu African American lady with the purple shirt needs a bouns. There was an issue with my reservation. The system had my name in the wrong order... after a few minutes she found me. But she was so calming and pleasant. She got me to laugh through tears. She gave me directions to the beach. Our room was everything I imagined. The city everyone was pleasant. Celebrating our first anniversary, and will make this happen every year.

Nothing everything was wonderful. Nothing bad to report.

Great location! Lots nearby incl a great restaurant directly on the other side of the parking lot..2 min walk. Really cool sculpture garden 5 mins away too. Great area to walk and ride bikes! The manager knew we were celebrating our anniversary (had added that note in our reservation) and upon arrival, gave us a gift bag w/a handwritten note, candle, mini wine bottles, sweet treats, etc. How incredibly thoughtful!!

1. Bed was incredibly uncomfortable..our backs were killing us! Was like sleeping on the floor! 2. Pillows were as if we had none, so we called for extra and they brought us the “new” pillows. Vast improvement! Guess they hadn’t gotten around to replacing them in all the rooms yet. 3.They need a TV remote that had a guide...or at least a card showing what all the channels were..that was frustrating.

Very clean, woke up property. Staff is friendly.

There was a children’s sporting event on our second night. Adults were smoking in the hallway which filtered into our room while we were trying to sleep and children were running up and down the halls late in the evening. To which parents would yell after them. In the future maybe I’ll youth oriented groups can be sectioned into one part of the hotel. This way they won’t be disturbing the other guests. They were also congregating in the parking lot in the parking spaces which made it difficult to find a place to park when we came back after dinner.

They now charge a Parking Fee to park at this Hotel, which I consider to be wrong as their prices are rather steep to begin with !!!
