DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston - Downtown

The location was fantastic. Right by Tufts hospital. In Chinatown. Close access to the start of the Freedom Trail as well as restaurants, shopping, and other attractions. The cookie at check-in was a really nice touch. We were able to text someone prior to check in and throughout our stay. That was incredibly helpful.

Parking was expensive. The hotel overall appeared clean. Our floor was not vacuumed well. Complimentary water at check-in would’ve been appreciated.

The location is great. It is a walking distance from many restaurants, shops, and parks. The bar downstair is great. My room has a view of children playground which is nice. The warm cookies given at check-in is a nice touch. They are delicious.

The gym is really small for a hotel is size.

Everything was great. Room was clean, the bed was comfy and the hotel is closed to Boston downtown. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and will consider the place for our future trip to Boston, US.

The choice of breakfast could have been better but $16/pp is quite reasonable. Happy to pay more for a better quality breakfast.

Handicapped Room had excellent shower with handrails and it was spacious (35m2 claimed). The beds were very comfortable and the room location was nice and close to the elevator.

The room had only two light bulbs in one fixture between the beds - no ceiling lamp - no floor lamp - no desk lamp ; it was dark !! Called the front desk and they denied having any lamps available to brighten our room! Serious discussions ensued ... eventually resulting in a desk lamp and after further requests ... a floor lamp arriving. Finally there was enough light to read a book.

Staff are amazing. Attentive, caring, kind. They were the best part of the stay. Room is large and comfortable, and the refrigerator and microwave were a nice addition. Bed very comfy, a really good stay!

My only complaint was housekeeping. I do not like having to request housekeeping each day (especially for the price of the room) and would have preferred to have it automatically unless I requested not to have it. I also found it to be late in the day, around 4-5, which is the time when I want to rest after a day of sightseeing and before going out for the evening. The service itself was very good, I just would prefer it to be earlier and automatic.

for my first time in Boston and so many hotels to chose from. i decided to stay here. I’m so glad I did! right next to the metro station so coming from the airport was easy. Perfect location - always a worry when visiting a new city. Nice 10 min walk to Boston Common. Very central. The staff and the reception welcome was first class - I travel a lot and have never had such a lovely welcome when checking in. Room was on the 6th floor. Very large room. very large and comfortable bed, coffee machine, fridge to stock up on your own snacks/drinks. great bathroom and shower. All amenities were top standard. i didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on the food. There is a Starbucks as part of the hotel which is great first thing for coffee. Main shopping area 10 min walk away. But it’s closeness to the metro station was great when travelling the city. i can’t recommend this hotel highly enough and if I return to Boston - as I plan to do, I will definitely stay here again.

Overall the hotel was extremely convenient in relation to where I needed to be while staying in Boston. Everything I needed was within walking distance staff were very accommodating and giving me directions each day. Loved the Starbucks in the lobby and how amazing the staff were. The restaurants food was delicious and is it just a pop down to the lobby and pick it up.

I thought the shower could’ve been cleaned a little bit better And I did not appreciate that the railing was broken could’ve caused an accident had I actually needed it to get up. Also I was not impressed with the $10 a day charge for Wi-Fi after reading online at the hotel had free Wi-Fi. There are a couple hidden costs which you were unaware of until check-in that add up the initial cost if you stay. If you’re traveling on a budget it can be quite frustrating. But overall The friendliness of the staff made up for the minor inconveniences of the hidden costs. One staff member David Went above and beyond to accommodate and assist me he was brilliant.

Booking said there was a breakfast for around $20 per person. The hotel did not honor this because this was an error on booking’s part. They did not update their amenities. You can purchase a sit down breakfast with the hotel, which cost us a little more per person. Also, if you book through booking, check out is 11am. The hotels has noon checkout, if you book through them. Just some thoughts.

The room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Treadmills in the gym were not working for my entire stay. Had to use YMCA gym next door. Not very convenient as YMCA was busy. Not sure why the 2 Treadmills were not being fixed. Barman was not very friendly. Appeared to be overwhelmed with work. But still that should not make him to be unfriendly.
