Harbor House Inn

This property was a great location! Close to shops, restaurants, lighthouse, and beach (all within walking distance)! It was clean and the bed was big and room was very spacious. The employees were all so very nice and overall we loved our stay here!

Our only complaint was that our room had two sets of French doors which led right out onto the front porch. This was a great feature as you could access the room by those doors with a set of keys! However, there were no curtains only blinds which still left a significant size gap in which people walking by/on the porch could see into your room as well as allow in a lot of light which made it hard to sleep. We ended up having to put chairs and luggage rack in front of blinds to minimize this gap as much as possible.

Room was clean and comfortable. Location was great - right across street from river front park and the musical fountain. Fresh fruit at breakfast Also, Grand Haven still has that small town feel. Not overcrowded like Saugatuck or Traverse City

There is no elevator, so expect to have to lug suitcases up to 2nd or 3rd floor. Consider this and inconvenience. not a reason to not stay at Harbor House

Loved the location- walkable to town and walkable to the beautiful beach and lighthouse. Also appreciated the personal touches in the Inn- snacks and water available at all times, with warm cookies added in late afternoon. Bedding linens were fabulous.

The in-room toiletries are not of good quality. Luxury products are not expected, but mid-quality shampoo that doesn’t immediately run through your fingers or soaps that are thin, would be nice.

The rooms and location were great. All but one of the staff were very nice and helpful. We ended up renting the entire House with three apartments for our sons and their families. This was very convenient. They loved it. They said you should emphasize the updates.

The stairs at the Inn were difficult, Some sort of handicapped accommodation would have been very helpful. The one staff person was curt and said she did not know anything about the services at the house our boys were in. There were essentially no services at the house. Not enough toilet paper for a family of 5 and no instructions on checkout procedures. The room prices were very high for us but the accommodation were great so we splurged. We would not normally consider these kind of prices.

Location was very convenient to shopping, the water and restaurants. Lovely furnishings. Nice shower and bed. Cable TV. Changed towels and cleaned our room quickly each day. Felt secure. Beautiful gardens.

It seemed like a lot to pay for a room that had no view at all...some drainage and a bush..Other rooms had a porch and doors that opened to a patio. Even though we had a parking pass we had to park off-site. So limited parking.

The location is in the heart of everything in downtown and within walking distance. It is clean, quaint, and adorable. The staff who greeted us and checked us in was so friendly and informative. Guests are welcome to snacks, cookies, coffee, breakfast in the morning. The rooms are homey and clean. We woke to the smell of coffee downstairs. We would definitely have stayed another night if there was availability. Our first B&B and also one of the most relaxing places we have ever stayed.

Expected more baked goods from the reviews for breakfast, but not a huge downside at all.

Good location and staff was responsive and friendly when we needed them

We thought we were booking at the Harbor house bnb but found out after that it was actually a secondary location that used to be part of a different resort and we were not able to use the amenities at the place we were staying but also weren't aloud to use the harbor house amenities either.

I liked the friendliness of staff. I loved the bonus fireplace we were treated to in our room.

I thought we were going to get a king bed or two queens. I believe we got a queen or a full sized bed. The bed was sagging in the middle. The pillows not the quality I appreciate. The whirlpool seemed not clean. The handle on the whirlpool tub shower was chipped off. Breakfast was ok but could have benefited from some eggs and a meat, or pancakes or waffles.

It is very welcoming and makes it feel like a home. It was clean, comfy and a perfect location with on site parking. The breakfast provided a nice selection and healthy options. The daily caramels left bedside were a wonderful delicious treat.

The door to the stairwell was next to our room and was squeaky so it did wake us up periodically in the earlier morning hours.

We stayed at the front room at the cottage. The location is so beautiful with the screen porch and room views of the harbor and the sunset while sitting in front of the fireplace. We love the convenience of walking to our favorite restaurants; Annas house for breakfasts Snug Harbor just down the street on the harbor and a very short drive to Notos which is on the lake with beautiful sunset view and our favorite Italian dishes. And save room for the cannoli!

Our fireplace pilot light was out because of previous high winds but the owner made a special trip to relight the flame within 24 hours.
