Stoney Creek Hotel Columbia

It’s great place to stay, with a nice indoor-outdoor pool and a “hot tub” which is pretty, but not very hot.

Someone puked in the pool, so they nicely asked everyone to leave until morning. We weren’t allowed to use the hot tub either, because they closed the whole area. Decided to watch a movie in our room, but they don’t have smart TVs. I called the front desk to ask why I couldn’t watch a movie on my Prime account and found out their TVs can’t cast from mobile devices, and they don’t offer streaming services as a hotel either. So, you can’t watch any of your streaming services unless you bring a laptop and HTMI cable with you. There is no point to a big screen TV when you are stuck with reruns of old TV shows.

The location was great. Easy to navigate great places to eat and shopping close. The room was clean, beds comfy, and shower was hot and great water pressure. The fridge had a separate freezer space, keeping everything from freezing. Breakfast was good, hot choices, healthy choices and a pancake maker. Quicker and easier than the typical waffle maker. Pool area was open.

The room was dark, even with several table top lamps just hard to see in all areas of the room. Could use some updating,but didn't effect the stay. Getting to the pool was quite a walk through halls to get to the one entrance. The hot tub area was a draw to the booking, except it was just a tub of extra warn water with out the jets. The waterfall did keep the water moving though. The adult swim hour was nice.

We arrived at 9am for breakfast, well before closing time. Breakfast offerings were fine BUT, there were NO plates, NO spoons, NO regular cream cheese. You have to hold the toaster lever down manually for as long as the bread is in the toaster - otherwise it won't hold. Coffee ran out. Attendant did not come out to check on things, and finally started restocking cereal - of which there was plenty. Trash cans (esp one) were almost overflowing. She/they need LOTS more training on how to keep things stocked. I never saw anyone wiping down tables as people would come and go.

Spacious clean bathroom, very quiet....we couldn't hear next rooms or hall traffic. Very clean & well lit parking lot. I stayed with my disabled child, we were greater & check in a breeze! Nice clean room. Breakfast area is big soplenty of tables/room to spread out. Breakfast was delicious, lots of options! Most importantly to me was to feel safe while traveling alone with a child, and I was totally at ease during our stay. Staff was very visible, polite, and tidy in appearance. Room was spacious, lots of lighting options, cable TV. We will be exclusively staying here on returning trips!!! I found Stoney Point by accident while scrolling a booking site. Added bonus, the nature theme....my daughter loved all the details, carvings, and good photo ops!!

Very nice place to stay. Hotel was clean and served a hot, free breakfast each day we were there. I would definitely stay again if I’m in the area. Very close to the University with lots of restaurants and shops within short driving distance.

My only issue was that our rooms were very close to the pool and we could smell the chlorine in the hall. My son has asthma which is the only reason I noticed but our rooms smelled fine. It wasn’t really an issue for the short stay, if I come again I will make sure to be placed farther from the pool. I’m sure the staff would have accommodated us if I asked but, again, with the short stay it wasn’t important but good to note for asthmatics.

Because their was a youth basketball tournament going on the same weekend we were there. Some kid was bouncing a basketball it seemed like against our wall all night long, while our kids needed a full nights rest, because they had State Horse Judging competition. That's why we were there. Along with I wish our room had pots and pans in the kitchen. I had brought food to cook and had to got buy pots and pans to make dinner.

The location was convenient to the activities we were doing in Columbia. The woman at the front desk was particularly friendly and got us checked in quickly, which was nice after a long day of hiking.

Unfortunately, there was some kind of disturbance in the hallway in the middle of the night that woke us up -- there was screaming and banging of doors. It didn't last long, so we didn't make much of it after that, but it was enough to be memorable.

When we got there to check in they had sold out of the room type we'd requested, so they upgraded us! Massive room with a fireplace and jetted tub. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Our room needed a little TLC. Something was splattered on the wall by the bed. Most of the light bulbs needed replaced. A few little things like that, nothing that retracted from the quality of the stay.

The hotel staff were very pleasant at arrival. They answered my questions. The facility was clean. The kids loved the pool and we enjoyed the hot tub. Breakfast was nice, they had a good variety of food. Check in and Check out fast and friendly.

I have no complaints. All the staff treated us well and made sure they greeted us. The food was good and the facility was clean. We enjoyed our stay.
