Breakfast was quite good, only one selection but substantial. Coffee, tea and two types of juices any amount, Coffee available all day was a bonus. The room was clean and functional, a decent king size bed, and all amenities. Ised the microwave for tea that was relaxing and the AC both hot and cold functioned superbly as the weather went from cold to hot all the time, For commuting to Manhattan , walk along the avenue towards JFK Boulevard and take any number of buses 161 and 160 are the best. To come back use the 125 and get off at 28th & JFk. That's the only way. If you have your own car, God bless you , drive away to glory! Staff was most helpful afetr check in. Saloni Kaul

They should have a luggage store room for early guests or those overstaying allowing them one night free storage. Because of Booking .com, I don't even get my WYndham reqreds.

I have stayed here before and will probably stay again when visiting NYC. It is a drive up style motel and the rooms have everything I need as a single traveller plus only $25-30 for an Uber to and from Newark Airport. Comfortable bed, big bathroom with great water pressure and hot water. The room also has decent free wifi and a safe, fridge, microwave, lots of outlets, iron, hairdryer etc, etc. The big selling point here is the value for money and the ease of getting into Manhattan. A room of this size and facilities in Manhattan costs at least 3x more than the Super 8. Getting to Manhattan is easy, you simply stand outside the motel and flag down the New York express bus that drives by every 10 mins and it costs $4 per person (cash only) which takes 15-25 mins depending on time of day and traffic. It drops you off 42nd/8th Port Authority / Times Square and the motel provides a printout of the express bus instructions in and out of Manhattan. You travel with the locals on the express bus but there is always a seat available from my xperience! The property itself is a little run down and the area is not overly exciting but there are a couple of retail parks close by providing supermarkets, cinemas, Walmart, Starbucks and several chain fast food restaurants.

There is a $100 deposit that is also required that is taken out of your account (not a hold) if you use a card but is promptly returned a few days later after you depart assuming you don't destroy the room, so be aware if you are on a tight budget. If you wish to leave your bags with the motel while you go to Manhattan to kill some time before a night flight home, it will cost as it cost me $10 for one bag for a few hours. Be aware if you miss the last Express Bus or NJ Transit bus back from Mahattan to Super 8 NJ that an Uber will cost $40 as crossing state lines seems to add a huge fee :(

It was out of town so I got to experience a difference side of New York on the Jersey side. The hotel was very budget friendly and didn't compromise on cleanliness and important amenities. We never used the breakfast but i wouldn't say it's much of a breakfast. Something to keep in mind especially for solo travellers and couples. Ubers to the hotel from Manhattan were around $45. We took the shuttle bus every morning for $4 per person to save money but opted for car rides on our way back. This added additional cost to our overall stay. Hotel options in Manhattan were expensive enough to justify the extra cost for our party of three but they might not be for solo travellers or couples.

It's on a busy highway so it was quite loud.

Great location for a short visit to NYC. There is a shuttle that you can flag down right in front of the lobby to get to the Port Authority Bus Terminal on 41st and 8th Ave. Cost is $3.50. Unfortunately that shuttle only runs until 10 pm but Bridget, the very helpful person at the front desk, told me the 125 bus runs from the Port Authority to about a block or so from the hotel. (Found out the cost for that was also $3.50 pp.) The room was comfortable enough. We found every staff person to be polite and helpful. Overall, we felt safe and enjoyed our stay. (And we were so happy we didn't have to drive into the city!)

Grab-and-go breakfasts aren't too exciting but there were a few bars to choose from and we really appreciated the clementine. Also, I have to agree with previous comments about the towels being thin.

room was clean beds very comfy, needs an update clearly but still basic and functional.

Breakfast used to be brilliant, but due to covid we got a bran bar, orange and some wafer things. Didn’t bother again. The night manager Jadatt spent all his time on his phone, exceptionally lazy. Often had to wait for him to even put the coffee pots out.

The room was big and had a very useful space for clothing and a safe box, aside from the microwave, coffee machine and mini fridge. It was always clean. Sometimes the bus would stop right next to the hotel to pick us up, but either way the New Jersey to Manhattan bus stop was very close, so was the Manhattan to New Jersey one. I recommend taking the paid in cash one (3.5 USD).there is also an Aldi and a Dollar Tree near to the hotel (and the bus stop)

The staff wasn't that much helpful and they didn't have someone that spoke Spanish, it's a very tourist are and there where many Spanish speaking guests. They charged for keeping your bags after check out (10 usd) in total. It doesn't have an elevator, which is uncomfortable for a stay with big bags.

The price was great for the area and there is a shuttle that stops right outside the front door that takes you to the bus depot in Manhattan for $4 cash! That was the beat! It does only run until 10pm, so we had to take am uber back after our show which was about $50.

Breakfast was a bagel and juice, just be aware that's all there is. The bathroom had a very small vanity and the pipes must be backwards because you couldn't get the shower very warm without turning it off.

-Value for money AWESOME for NYC tourism. -Room with two queen size beds is spacy. -Air conditioning works good. -Additional building (where we were located) is far from the highway and therefore pleasantly quiet. -Room is in a nice condition.

-Walls are rather thin. Sex noises are VERY good to hear. Keep this in mind when travelling with kids. -Toilet is somehow too "powerful" and therefore spills water after flushing. Recommendation: Do not flush until reaching a safe distance ;) -Breakfast is truely not worth mentioning nor calling it "Super Breakfast". It contains a plain bagle, a small portion of philadelphia cheese, a small orange and a nut bar. I would like to see this be returned to the breakfast for which there is all equipment still in place.

The hotel has an excellent differential for those traveling by car, which is the free parking, and it is also very easy to get to and from New York by public transport, the bus picks up at the door to go and to return, it is necessary to walk 5 minutes (route smooth and easy) I was guided about this service at Checkin.

We had booked a room with a only king bed, but the rooms with this configuration do not have smoking restrictions, that is, the room had a very strong smell of cigarettes and marijuana, we immediately requested to change to another non-smoking room, and we were charged the difference in value at reception.

Super 8 is the perfect place for a lovely stay. The hotel is very comfortable: the rooms are big and clean. The bus service to/from NYC is a good option!

The only thing that, in my opinion, can be improved is breakfast. I know that, due to the Covid-19, the options for breakfast are different and I think that is a good thing to give a box to each person, but, in my opinion, sometimes, you can try to change the food. This is only a suggestion for your improvement!
