Equinox Hotel Hudson Yards New York City

The energy in the hotel and neighborhood. Great room and view... the hotel starts on the 25th floor! They still had covid restrictions and you have to show your proof of vaccinations. But even so, it was comforting to know that everyone in the hotel was vaccinated.

There was very little we did not like. The hotel can't help that it was a beautiful sunny day and there was no place to sit at the outdoor pool and no place to swim in the indoor pool do to swimmers using the all the lanes.

I love the concept of this hotel. From my arrival to my departure, all the staff I interacted with were very professional and hospitable. All my requests were catered to except for one missed request when I had asked for the room to be made up. They were very responsive in providing a prompt turndown service to make up for it. The property and the amenities were of the highest quality and standard. I very much enjoyed the spa and the food was ok for the price. My room was exceptional! Great design and overall ambiance. I can say that this was probably one of the best sleeps I’ve had compared to other hotels I’ve traveled to worldwide. They were able to provide me with the weighted blanket I am accustomed to sleeping with... Very impressive considering not many hotels can offer this. Mattress and sheets were just right and comfortable. The pillows were delightful too! I love that the concept of quality sleep is important in the guest’s experience. The room was very clean with a nice seating area for relaxing or working. The bathroom had great smelling Equinox bath amenities, the mini bar was well stocked although you can tell some of the items were worn out already so I wasn’t very enticed to try them as they looked old. There were some basic yoga equipment and foam rollers in the room that I used in the morning. TV was great and I could link my phone to it too. The safe was secure and well-hidden. I very much liked my room which was on the corner of the 32nd floor because it was quiet. It offered great views and when I was ready to sleep, the automatic shades were a nice touch. I also liked the in-room iPad which was also a great way to order food, make requests, and communicate with the front desk and spa. I highly recommend using the spa and gym! Location was great and not stuffy compared to staying in Midtown or other areas. There was everything nearby like Whole Foods, shopping mall, pharmacy, and easy access to get picked up by my car service.

Always switching elevators is a bit tedious and the they can be slow.

It is a shame that kids under 18 cannot use the swimming pools.

Absolutely stunning hotel with lovely facilities. The hotel were kind enough to upgrade us when we arrived so we had a suite for the week. Beautiful room / bathroom with a breath taking view. BIG thank you to housekeeping, they came twice a day and couldn’t do enough for us!

Beware room service is extremely expensive as they add on a surcharge (and the food is already pricey, a smoothie would be $30). if they hadn’t of added the additional charges I probably would have ordered.

Pros: INCREDIBLE SERVICE-WOW the hospitality was off the charts Great location Safe neighborhood Easy access to Uber Beautiful hotel and rooms Black out shades were a GAME CHANGER for sleep! Gym access was great, but it was filled with "influencer" gym goers-if you hate influencers, don't go to the gym. INCREDIBLE ROOM SERVICE Impeccable housekeeping The hotel is located in West Midtown, and we felt it was a good base location for sight seeing all over Manhattan. The Vessel is on the same property, which was cool! My husband took Blade helicopter from JFK to the West Manhattan helipad, which was only a couple blocks from the hotel, and he got $50 off using the Equinox discount code. Tip: We didn't realize JFK is the furthest airport from the hotel, and I would recommend flying into Newark airport to stay here.

Cons: SO EXPENSIVE. This is NOT a budget friendly hotel. (To be fair, NYC is not a budget friendly city either lol) When I booked the room, another 1200 or so was added in NYC taxes, which I thought had already been included in the total. Room service was SO EXPENSIVE. Each meal was $120+ (but it was delicious, and delivered within 30 minutes!!) DO NOT stay here if you are concerned about budget AT ALL. Bed is on the hard side. If you prefer a soft bed, this is not the bed for you. Do not even try the mini bar food. It's all super health conscious, and once you open it, you have to pay for it even if it was disgusting and you threw it away (hahaha)

One of the best manhattan hotels I've visited. Totally opaque curtains can provide an improved sleeping experience (controlled via ipad room controls)

-the room, even though it was overall very clean, could become just slightly dusty here and there at some moments of the day (just a bit of dust on a night table in the morning for example... possibly due to ventilation filter issues I would guess, but this was a minor detail; the room was overall very clean) -there should be slightly improved food options for in room dining/room service, considering that this is a 5-star hotel (and freshly pressed orange juice would be great; the orange juice currently offered doesn't really cut it) -it would be great if the hotel accepted phone credit card payments, as it can facilitate check out in some circumstances -slightly pricy, but this is hard to avoid on manhattan

This is a 'first class' hotel. Spacious rooms with luxury finishings, several lighting selections, comfortable beds. Our room had a great view over the Hudson. The view is also great from the lounges and the outdoor pool. The hotel is very clean.

To reach the room you need to make the first stop at the concierge on the 25th floor then switch elevator to reach out your floor. That makes no sense at all.

Outside restaurant 24th floor have great view, pool on the 24th floor is a great location for chilling. It’s well designed hotel for vacation and business trip. Huge gym floor.

In dining food is terrible yet very expensive, not a winning taste, portion size, variety or flavor. Don’t do it to yourself. I’ve checked breakfast and dinner.
