Hyatt House Carlsbad

Oh the room was comfortable, I slept good. The lobby area had a lot of room, we were able to bring our dinner back and enjoy it on premises. My kids also enjoyed using the pool.

The shower water pressure, it was horrible. We were also excited for breakfast but it was not good at all. One other thing, when we checked in the front desk attendant was not very friendly, she did not provide much information. The next day I went to correct my bill and the morning attendant informed me that normally the other attendant should have explained the $15 deposit that gets refunded upon checkout. I'm not surprised considering she only spoke when I asked questions.

The breakfast was great - not too busy and the food was hot and fresh - many options. Everything to very clean and well maintained. The bathrooms have nice big mirrors with great lighting and the beds are comfortable. Fridge and microwave in every room. Staff was also awesome!

The water pressure is not great but I feel that’s common in most hotels now. That’s my only negative.

Comfortable and clean room in a reasonably new hotel. Liked the reasonably large size room and placement on top (4th) floor. Good location on Hwy-62 at southern edge of Carlsbad town to visit the caverns, about a 15min drive to the hwy turn-off to enter the national park (another 10min drive to reach the visitor center). Limited restaurants around the hotel but a short drive along the hwy into town to good restaurants and also Walmart for provisions.

Due to covid restrictions only able to pre-order the day before simple take-and-go wrapped hot or cold breakfast with juices and coffee/tea so that was the only real drawback to the stay

Very clean and seemed new. Good hot breakfast. staff very nice

No amenities except soap- they will give you lotion if you ask. We had a king room: one sink is acceptable, but only had 8” of surface around the sink. With king room, you’d think you would have more room for 2 people to put their toiletries.

Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The room coffee/wine bar was a nice treat with glass mugs and glasses, especially after 8 days of paper cups, Having a bar with sandwiches was a benefit as there was no need to look elsewhere for dinner. The breakfast was well presented , varied, and tasty. The staff was friendly and informative.

The breakfast was good but the hot foods could have been warmer.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The location is on the main drag so food options are minutes away. Being a brand new hotel, it is exceptionally clean and everything feels fresh and new. Comfy bed with lovely bedding. Staff were attentive and friendly. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was that it had an outdoor pool, which was awesome. My boyfriend also enjoyed using the workout room. Overall, we would 100% book this hotel again if we were to come back to Carlsbad.

No umbrellas at the pool, so no shade. Breakfast options are limited but I know that this is a work in progress and most hotels I stay at do not offer a free breakfast.

Cleanliness of the hotel in general, the breakfast was good and hotel staff was friendly

At this moment there have been made 4 charges/reservations on our credit card, which seems not correct . Have contacted billing dptment about this, but they could only see 2 charges based on the invoices we received. Hopefully the reservations will not lead to a double charge.

Breakfast was acceptable, no complaints. The children missed having eggs, the option of pancakes or even waffles but they did have french toast in the menu for this morning.

I wish they would have had a better variety of breakfast food to pick from. Today's hot breakfast consisted of seasoned potatoes, sausage links and French toast. Not enough variety, in my opinion.

First impression was really good. Nice hotel very helpful receptionist. Breakfast was amazing. Many options and all very clean.

Our room was very stinky. I don’t know why. We were just too tired to complain and maybe change the rooms, but it a bit destroyed the joy this hotel makes.

Rooms were clean and loved the shower

Not much to speak of on breakfast or in the on site little convenience store. $3.50 for a bottle of water is ridiculous. Not enough parking for sure. had to park out in the dirt most of the time
