Bay Mountain Inn Cherokee Smoky Mountains

Upon arrival I was smacked in the face with the beautiful aroma of fabuloso!!!!!!! Check in was so rude. The guy called and asked how close we were to the place. I told him we were sitting in the parking lot on the phone with some important issues my fiancé and we’re dealing with. He proceeded to say, “ welll could you hurry up”? I didn’t give him another thought. I told him we had one hour left. It was only 9:01pm. Rude dude

The person who called and asked me to hurry up was not ok. That could be changed. Don’t ask your guests if they will hurry up especially when you have one hour to go. Don’t be rude. Our lives don’t revolve around yours.

This was overall a very pleasant stay. Boyfriend and I were meant to return to Kentucky after our trip to the Smokies but we ended up with an extra day off work and extended our stay by a night. This hotel had openings and we saw the ratings and snagged one, and were glad we did. The bed is probably the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. It is in a pretty central location in Cherokee as well, which of course is parked right between the Great Smokies and Blue Ridge Mountains. The entire place seemed clean and there was a breakfast included the following morning, although we did not get anything because it was carb heavy. But the hotel is nice, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the beds are great.

The hotel sent me a message (most likely automated) asking when we would arrive. We responded to this message and yet when we arrived they had still already locked up and we were catching the night staff on his way out of the front desk. If you ask when someone will arrive and someone tells you, you should probably be there to let them in. Other than that I killed a bug in our room, although it was not a cockroach or bed bug so there's at least that.

The room was clean and it did not have that musty smell that a lot of hotel rooms have. It was very quiet and we did not hear any noises from adjacent rooms. The staff were very nice and helpful. We came to Cherokee for the pow wow and it was right next door to the hotel. They had fireworks on the second night of the pow wow and we chose to watch from the hotel parking lot. It had rained earlier and the staff brought out towels and cleaned the rain off of the outside seating for us, which was a very nice gesture. It was a great place to stay....we'd definitely stay here again.

I wish l could remember the gentlemen’s name at the front desk, he was very helpful for all of our questions about the area. We asked for extra towels and washcloths for our room and were immediately brought to us by house cleaning. Clean room, would stay again. It was near everything we were there for! 😊

We were told upon arrival that the front doors are locked around 10 pm. and you have to go thru the side doors to get in. We were fine with that until we actually had to do it, no problems whatsoever, just a little different.

The receptionist was very busy on the phone but tried to take care of us at the same time. TJ was very attentive when he explained everything we needed to know. The room had disability access and there were plenty of grab bars which made it very safe. The choices for the breakfast buffet were substantial, we always love the waffle station. The hotel was easy to find even though there was construction in the area. Perfect location for what we wanted to visit. Very close to Island Park which is beautiful.

We needed to stay in Cherokee for a few nights and chose the Bay Mountain Inn for its price and location. Our king room was spacious with a comfortable bed and we really liked the larger than usual refrigerator. There were also luggage carts to take your bags to your room and we could access the exterior door closest to our room with our room key. We were also surprised to discover that breakfast was included, even though this wasn't on the booking.com site. I interacted with the staff only when checking out, but that went well. It was a good basic room for a good price. No complaints.

The room was nice and clean. Check in was pretty easy and we were thankful to be able to check in early to get to a wedding. Bed was very comfortable with comfy pillows!

Bathrooms were clean but just older facilities. my husband and I are relatively tall people. I’m 5’8 and had to tilt my head backwards for the water to reach my hair. had good water pressure though. Toilets were very low to the ground. Not a deal breaker but just more difficult with us being tall.

This was our 3rd stay here. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. Conveniently located to Cherokee, close to the things we like to see and do, and the Elk were super close to go see this trip. We arrived a few minutes early and our room was ready. We were able to be on the bottom floor as requested. Later breakfast hours than some other hotels. We will definitely be back.

There is no bag for my dirty clothes. (Not a big deal 😁) The breakfast was ok. The coffee is super strong - and no french vanilla creamer. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I ran out of time and didn’t get to swim. Nothing terribly bad about our stay.

We have stayed here several times in the past. Great location. It's always a comfortable stay. Rooms are nice. If we need anything, the staff is super nice and accommodating to our needs. We were able to check in a little earlier than their normal time without any hassle.

The only "bad" thing is that we had to move the microwave to be able to plug it in. Oh - and we ran out of Kleenex. Not bad, I promise!!

The bed was very comfortable. We had a king size bed. We also like the location. The Cherokee side of the smoky mountains has less people and less commercial. Enjoyed the pool too. The hotel also has a coin operated laundry.

Maybe breakfast could start at 7 am instead of 8 am. We were always out doing something by 8 am so we missed the breakfast. Was not a problem though because the room had a refrigerator and a microwave to make our own.
