Great Smokies Inn - Cherokee

I enjoyed everything about my stay at Great smokies inn. the beds were comfortable, the room was exceptionally clean as well as the grounds and pool area.It was also very quiet at night.The staff were very friendly and accommodating. As well as informative about the best places to eat and the area. Whenever I'm taking a trip to Cherokee this will forever be my spot.

The one and only complaint which really wasn't a big deal and wouldn't be a reason for me not to return would be the pillows. They were kind of worn, flat and lumpy. However I just doubled up and did just fine.

The room was clean, and the location was great. Very comfortable.

When I checked in the young lady at the desk repeatedly said" if you have a child" make sure you watch them here at the motel. I did have a child that came in a few minutes later with his father and we were told again to "make sure we watch our child". Enough is enough and 4 times of her saying that was a bit much. Our son wasn't even in the check in area the first 3x it was said. It felt very unwelcoming and was not appreciated. We had a wonderful time here but the manners and people at the desk play a great role in how people view the stay. The young lady at the desk did give our son a welcome kids bag with a cup, crayons, and a coloring bear page that he loved but the stress of her constant comments about watching children made it not as fun as it should have been at check in.

Location, clean and quiet. Away from the hustle around the casino and close to the elk watching, Blue Ridge Parkway, etc. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good food close by.. We loved that they had a smoking allowed room. The grounds were clean and very nice. I felt safe while walking alone to nearby shops for some gifts to take back home to grandkids.

There wasn't anything we didn't like about the grounds or facilities or staff.

Our room was spotlessly clean. I have read some comments about the carpet being “old,” but it wasn’t worn or dirty - maybe just drab colors. THE BED WAS SO COMFORTABLE! The receptionist, Amy, was also wonderful. We checked out early to see the sunrise, which turned out to be completely hidden behind clouds, and wished we had stayed in bed! This seems to be the quieter side of the national park and was a great place to stay, with a good, cheap restaurant nearby (Wize Guyz), as well as many other options for food, the fantastic Museum of the Cherokee Indian, and a small park on the water close to the hotel. Gatlinburg is a cute town but very touristy and crowded - we were so glad we stayed here instead! It’s also the closest hotel to the park entrance on the Cherokee side.

I loved the Mountain View. The staff are exceptional! I love how they have great suggestions of places to see as we as are super kind and quick to provide anything you need like extra towels. I loved the location as well as it was located right by the Smoky Mountain National Park which was why we came, to explore more in the National Park.

The only thing I didn’t like was a slight musty smell in the room but the rooms were super clean and the property had a beautiful view.

Everything was good.great size room .clean bathroom and soft clean white towels.specially liked table and two armchairs so we could prepare and eat a meal or use our laptops.good wi fi.no breakfast though but don't eat it anyway.got cold at night but when I asked the staff they provided extra blankets .we saw elks that sometimes roam into the village at dusk which we were thrilled to see.scenery was breath taking Just a couple of places to eat and get a beer but we liked the brew house and grill across the bridge about 5 mins walk.oh and mabel's cafe opposite did reasonably priced eats and breakfast.Convenient petrol station opposite.

Can't say there was anything to dislike.

My family and I have been here, there, and everywhere. The Great Smokies Inn is hands down one of our new favorites! We loved the location, size of the room, cleanliness of the room, layout of the inn's amenities, friendliness and welcoming nature of the check-in staff, the beautiful landscape and views, local stores/activities/dining options and convenience of Everything being steps away from the Inn,

I literally cannot think of anything that we did not like about the Inn... Thank you for an amazing Mother's Day getaway, and we'll be back!

so convenient with the motel format - we liked having fresh air immediately in the room. staff was really funny and knew so much about the area. Great breakfast shop across the street. easy parking near our room - easy to load in-out. we were returning from the Blairsville GA Highland games and this was only and hour away. You simply must love the Cherokee people with their new harrahs casino nearby and hiking galore.

no elevator for 2nd floor that we could find. maybe in another building they have one.

We loved that it was close to food, shopping and fishing spots. The rooms and outside areas surrounding the hotel were clean.

We stayed in room 121 and the beds were very hard. We have stayed here before in another room and the beds were comfortable so I don’t know if there was a change in that room. Also, when we arrived the room had an odor, but it could have been from a previous guest or rainy dampness because it got better after the first day.

The staff was friendly and the rooms were nice. The hotel was conveniently located for what we needed and there were restaurants and a gas station just down or across the street which was handy. The pool which was open from 10a -10p was clean and well kept. There is a really nice covered picnic table area and fire ring behind the hotel where we played cards one night. Lots of lighted parking and very reasonable prices.

There wasn't much I didn't like about our stay, the only thing that I can think of is the bathroom in our room didn't have an exhaust fan and the water from our sink tasted weird when we brushed our teeth.
