Holiday Inn Express Leland - Wilmington Area, an IHG Hotel

My sister and I were in town for a family wedding. Let me start y saying that the breakfast was DELICIOUS!!! We had stopped the day before on our ride up from Florida and ate at the Cracker Barrel; and the breakfast at the hotel was much better than the breakfast at the Cracker Barrel!! The bacon was divine and the pancake maker was awesome as well as the biscuits and gravy. I really can't say enough about the entire breakfast area. So many great choices. And the area was spotless and very orderly. My only preference that I would have liked and didn't get was in the room. The ac/heating unit had a wall mounted thermostat and would not allow for the fan to run continuously; which is something I prefer. The sound and feel of the air moving and not just quiet stagnant air is a preference of mine. The hotel is undergoing a large renovation project, but it did not interfere with our stay. All in all it was a pleasant stay and the breakfast knocked it out of the park!!

Breakfast all 3 mornings was great!!!

We took the do not disturb sign off our door our second day and room was never cleaned. Only 2 bath towels in room when we got there so had to get additional towels from desk. Wanted to stay a fourth day. Bookings.com showed available room but we were told it didn't show in the computer and they were 100% full. Nothing available, so we went to Best Western across the street. Also no couch or second chair in room. Had to sit on the coffee table. Not impressed for the price.

Location and breakfast

Had dog hair all over my sofa and my kid is allergic to dogs. Had a broken remote and the back was taped up with electrical tape. Extremely ghetto for a nice hotel. The guy who replaced my pillows on the couch gave me a lint roller and told me to use it because he was about to leave and lint rolling wasn’t his “thing.” He also gave me this funny look when I showed him the amount of pet dander and he act as if everyone is supposed to be used to dogs🥴

There was a very good variety at breakfast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We did not realize that we were booking thru Bookings.com, we thought the 800 phone # went to the hotel directly. The representative did not offer any rate discounts with AAA or AARP, which we have. When I asked about discounts at check in I was told there was a price freeze because it was booked through Bookings.com. We will be going back soon and will book directly thru the IHG app.

Your overnight desk clerk was a delight. She was attentive and helpful. You can tell she truly likes people and likes to help people with whatever they need. She is an asset to your business.

You don't carry my brand of coffee creamer, but I make do just fine. Also there's no outdoor pool.

I love how big the room was and where the hotel was located plenty of food places and shopping places was around to do everything in one trip

My tub wasn't clean when I got there and I didn't like that they had one elevator and had to constantly keep going downstairs to get towels and everything

Overall, our stay was great. Very comfy rooms. Excellent front desk customer service. Breakfast was good too. We had two minor issues: the room with walk in shower was not available to us when we checked in as booked, but it was the remainder of the stay so they turned it over quickly the next day. Thank you Sarah in housekeeping! The other somewhat disappointing thing was overhearing some housekeeping staff complain and curse in the hallways when they didn’t think anyone could hear them. I know they are overwhelmed especially on a Sunday checkout but I heard lots of foul language that saddened me.

hard to say everything was great. didn’t get a chance to use the pool but I’m sure the pool was clean too. I have to give a shout out to Shirley. she is in charge of the morning breakfast. she is the best which is why she won employee of the year. very friendly and she is genuine. my wife and I couldn’t leave without finding her to say goodbye until next time

honestly there was nothing I didn’t like about the hotel. we have stayed there every time we came to Leland and it was great.

The staff are exceptional: kind, informative. We never hesitated to ask them a question and they were generous with their answers and remembered what they had told us -- like, how did you enjoy last night's dinner? Lovley

The physical plant needs updating. The sofa in our room is in need of re-covering or at least a good cleaning. A good paint job -- a brown wall is not appealing with dings. Needs to be lightened up.

The breakfast was awesome. The room was comfortable and quiet. The location is perfect for me. Parking was ample. The staff is always friendly.

Honestly there’s really nothing that I didn’t like about my stay. It was exactly what I expected. Looking forward to my next visit.
