Hampton Inn & Suites Winston-Salem Downtown

When we checked in the front desk lady was very sweet and personable. Breakfast was great. Room and hotel was clean. I will definitely be back and will recommend.

The only thing that was sour about this trip was the front desk gentleman when we were checking out. He had no customer service skills whatsoever. We walked up to him while he was on a computer and we were not acknowledged for at least 45 seconds. After an awkward minute of standing right in his face with no eye contact my husband eventually asked if we needed to talk to him to check out. He then looked up from his computer to acknowledge we were there. It left a very sour taste for our last interaction with this hotel. That gentleman needs to be retrained.

It is a great location a couple of blocks from all the happenings downtown and from the bus station where you can take a bus for one dollar to all kinds of places. I loved the room. Spacious with a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, large flat screen with many movie channels, quiet at night so you can sleep. Hotel room and lobby were spotless. Gym and pool I didn't use but both looked nice, delicious free breakfast, bar open at night, very polite and helpful staff. And very attractive decor in rooms and lobby.

Parking fee added automatically -- had to tell them to take it off as I had no vehicle parked on the premises.

The parking lot was too tight in my room did not get clean the lady was outside my room where I left my room and that morning and it didn't get touched and then they kept the charging me stuff that I didn't know about and I had to call him twice but other than that it was great I enjoyed the room and the breakfast the first day was poor the second day was great I would like to thank the people for letting me stay there

Very clean! Friendly, helpful staff! Lovely breakfast in the morning in lobby, fresh and hot! Quiet location although downtown. Such a cute area of restaurants and shops. We booked extremely last minute on the road passing through to our destination and stopped here for the night. The room was ready and we had no issues with check in despite the last minute booking. Glad they were able to accommodate as we were not disappointed!

Only dislike was the $18USD parking rate, though we get that it’s downtown and parking is at a premium. It would be a nice extra if one night parking was included in your stay.

Breakfast was good. Very delicious and mostly healthy. There was plenty of food to go around. Plus there was even yogurt, which I like and can have mostly of the time. The newspaper availability was great.

There was not any non-dairy creamer available for lactose intolerant people. Need more juice flavors. Also, a variety of fruits and grits would have been even better. There needed to be more variety on the newspapers and possibly a different channel other than the weather channel.

I have stayed here a few times and the staff has always been friendly. It is always clean.

I do not like the parking spaces. It is too small of a space, ESPECIALLY for an SUV. I don't like having to pay for parking when the parking deck is so small. I wish the pool was inside so guest could enjoy it in the winter time. The key card system needs to be updated because our cards kept deactivating.

The entire staff was so friendly and helpful and super courteous. The room was beautiful. It had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious. More food than you could ever eat! Fresh, hot, perfect. Omelets, sausage, scrambled eggs, waffles, cereal, bagels muffins, fruit etc…everything was well stocked at all times and the staff was very attentive to that. Overall our entire stay was perfect!

This hotel was in a great location. The room was big and comfortable and very clean. The bed was comfortable and we loved the light blocking automatic shades.

The breakfast was not what we’re used to getting at a Hampton Inn. It was messy and there was very little to choose from. The waffle maker dispenser—both of them—were broken. There was a small bowl of (not ripe)oranges, no pastries or bagels. There were 2 kinds of sweet cereal from a dispenser and some oatmeal, a couple of containers of yogurt and some lukewarm eggs. The second day there we went out for breakfast.

The location was great with access to restaurants just a few minutes walk away. The room was clean and comfortable.

I am an early riser and I was terribly disappointed that there was no fresh coffee provided in the lobby until 6:30 AM. I had to do with leftover, lukewarm coffee made obviously sometime the previous evening. I didn't feel the lobby was particularly comfortable. It looked okay but the furniture was not very comfortable.

Location was great.. Alot to see locally.

Didn't like that the hotel makes their customers that are already paying to stay , pay for parking. The young female staff gave sassy attitude when talking to guess. Some of the staff were very nice .. Customer service needs an upgrade.
