Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center

First,I really liked, Sarah, the front desk reservationist. She was very friendly, energetic and helpful. She gave us 2 great recommendations on nearby restaurants. She also took care of a snafu in the reservation, that was my fault, seamlessly and quickly. Our rooms were spotless and larger than expected. The King bed was very comfortable, not too soft or hard. The room provided all the necessities..The bathroom had a nice large granite ? sink and a good sized shower with interchangeable shower head settings. We did not use the swimming pool or eat at the hotel restaurant. We also had a very quiet stay, which is a big plus. Excellent hotel, especially for the price!

Things that most hotels I stay in don't have, including this one, is enough hooks in the bathroom. The shower could use a grab bar also. If you start to fall the only thing to hold is the door handle.

The front desk staff was great! We checked in on Christmas and they were very helpful with everything! We told them that we had 2 dogs and they were very pet friendly and accommodating! I would give the Hotel a 10 except that our room didn’t have any extra blankets or pillows. I am sure the front desk would have brought them up but we already called for a do not disturb sign, which he brought quickly! I would just prefer to not have to ask.

Great location, nice and clean, very comfortable bedding, thermostat control in the room.

No complimentary breakfast (continental breakfast is extra), no on-site parking (local garage parking $10/day), there was no channel guide for the TV. No frills...This sounds trivial, but there was no paper/pen in the room, which you would usually see by the phone or on the desk station. No info provided on the surrounding area/businesses/attractions, which would have been nice to have. It just seemed like for the price, there should have been more included instead of making you pay extra for everything.

I booked this property due to its proximity to Kent Stage. The hotel was clean and my room was large. Loved the bolsters on the bed; provided additional support for behind my head. Fridge and microwave were in room. Lots of outlets to charge your devices, but none with USB ports. There was a rooftop balcony area.

The only things I would suggest is to maybe get some lamps in there that have USB outlets built in. It's very handy to have that feature in a hotel room. Also, the shower could use a larger shelf to put your shampoo and conditioner on. There was literally no room to put these items on; I had to put them on the ground while I showered.

Love the proximity to campus. Makes it really convenient when we are visiting our daughter in college.

Pool was freezing cold and hot tub wasn’t working. No one at the front desk told us. Also our key fob stopped working after first day and I had to get it fixed to get back into our room. Also need more pillows that are softer. These are small and much too hard.

It was great that a short walk to Kent Stage where I went to see Shaun Cassidy. Bonus - Monday morning Shaun and his keyboard player got on the same elevator after their morning working. Yes my brain cells froze and unfortunately no photo since he was in workout mode but the memory will be in my heart forever!

The location could not have been better, the front desk staff were wonderful, the rooms were clean and comfortable temperature

Suggestion Dash please have the coffee ready and available for the guests in the morning. The crafts were emptied out quickly and had to wait for coffee to be brewed. Suggest you make two crafts at once keeping one behind the other. The gentleman at the front desk had to go brew twice because he could not keep up and people are waiting.

The hotel itself is centrally located in the town and the facilities were kept very clean. The linens and bed were very comfortable and the salt water pool and hot tub were an added bonus as was the restaurant located in the lobby. The hotel also hosted live bands on the terrace which was very enjoyable.

Very clean, the beds were comfortable, the location was great for our purpose, lots of food and drink options within walking distance, nice parking garage.

Didn’t love the bed pillows…inexpensive fiberfill as opposed to a nice feather. Also, not a big deal, but the wallpaper in the hallway is probably due for an update.

Location is very convenient for us, right in downtown Kent. Rooms are clean, staff courteous. Have stayed in the past and will stay there again.

Beds were a way too soft. Had double queen beds our last stay and woke up with back pain each morning. Haven't experienced that with the King rooms.
