Fairfield by Marriott Port Clinton Waterfront

The event that we were attending was in Sandusky and I really enjoyed the location of this property. It was quiet and not congested compared to the Sandusky area which is more upbeat. It was a nice change in setting for the evening and the lake view was very relaxing and peaceful. We were up early for breakfast and there was a nice selection to choose from for both of us. The lady who was in charge of the dining area and the breakfast buffet was on top of keeping it restocked and clean. She was even pretty vocal with the guests by welcoming everyone and checking to see if there was anything she could get them. She hustled to remove plates and utensils from tables and made sure the tables were cleaned for the next guest. The women who worked the front desk were awesome as well. The one who checked us in was quick and made everything so effortless for us. The lady who was in charge of check out was also quick. Both were very welcoming and sweet! This was the second time staying at this property while in that area. I will always choose Fairfield in Port Clinton.

During checking in and our stay was awesome the staff was amazing and very helpful and kind I was confirmed a late check out and I got a phone call 20 minutes before we had to leave a little after normal checkout we were told we had to leave or we had to pay extra to stay we hurried up and ran out and this was because of the morning staff I told her we had a late check out she said we would have to pay more money

The checkout was very rude . I called and spoke to a manager and she gave me a discounted price for the inconvenience and the rudeness of one person

+I loved how the staff was super friendly when we walked in. +They were able to accommodate us to the room we wanted with a view of the lake. +Offered a good free breakfast the waffle maker was a fun experience and they gave you a good array of options. +The room was spotless while we stayed, when we came in it smelt clean and the bed was nicely done. There were towels for us in the bathroom and the hair dryer was under the sink. It was so new, but this was a downside only for me and my husband cause we realized it. Our shower door was upside down and it leaked out alot so we had to use towels to keep the floor from being soaked each time. ONLY DOWNSIDE. +They let us check out at noon instead of eleven per request. +The price may seem high for the area, but the other hotels we stayed at and looked at were very much so out of date and had odd things like you could have your bathrub in your living space/bedroom. Or you could see the person showering next to your bed. We were very happy to pay this for so I didn't have to find mold or smell mold I couldn't see. I loved the room great space and the TV was a great bonus. +For the TV we didn't need to bring our chrome stick so we could watch things. The TV already had things on there for us to just log in with our info and wipe it clean when we leaved. It was awesome! +The mattress was perfect for me with sciatica and my twisted spine I usually dread sleeping on hotel mattresses, but I didn't have to worry about this one. It was soft, but firm it was a lovely in between mattress! +I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to take a trip up to this adorably small town and it's small town charm in the winter or any season. Just book far in advance for the summer months. Was told they book up fast and we definitely plan to come back stay here again.

The shower door was upside down. My husband and me had to deal with a really wet floor because it was leaking so much water out. After using a few towels the water was up off the floor, but I dint think that is good for someone incase they slip, or if the bathroom floor and dealings around the shower wears out really fast due to it.

The breakfast was wonderful! Nice variety of food. Loved the oatmeal bar. Comfortable beds and pillows.

More hand towels in the bathroom. Was going to purchase a bottle of wine from your snack area but it was way overpriced. Found the same thing in a grocery store for half the price.

Hotel is right on the lake. I got some terrific Jonathan Livingstone Seagull photos at sunrise. Breakfast was exceptional, best hotel eggs ever according to my teenager.

It is about 10 miles from the turnpike. but the hotel was a lot nicer than the ones in Fremont. You have to look out for deer though.

ALL the amenities of our king bed suite was great. The staff was very attentive to WHATEVER our needs were. They gave helpful information on restaurants, ferry/boat rides etc. The hotel was clean and attractive. Eventhough the weekend rates are overpriced...everything else was great.

My stay was GREAT...however...I was there for four (4) nights celebrating my 26th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival I requested to get a Waterfront suite. Even when it appeared to be rooms available...we were unable to move rooms. It was disappointing...but...our stay was STILL AMAZING!

The breakfast was very good! The decor was amazing. I loved the textured wall by the elevators- it looked like petals of wood. I touched it and it was. The carpeting on the second floor was blue and down the center like a runner was a darker shade of blue. All quite attractive! The window shade was a forest scene ! The room was square. The queen sized bed was very large. We think a big dog could have been between us in the bed, the bed was so big. The pillows were not great- two were big and stiff and the other two fluffy. The stiff pillows pushed your head upright. The bathroom sink drain was slow. I could not turn on the shower... the handle was too hard to turn. The bathroom was very nice otherwise. A nice big bathroom. The TV screen was very large.

I mentioned the pillows, the slow drain, and the shower handle. The patio facing Lake Erie is very basic. A pavilion would be nice there. We like to play cards so we were disappointed that the TV desk/table had only one chair.

The breakfast was very good. There were many selections such as omelets, hot cereal, fruits, juices, bagels and English muffins and of course waffles. The staff was great, replenishing items that were low.

it’s a newer hotel, nicely decorated with a lot of amenities including a fitness room and pool. the breakfast was yummy too! very nice staff as well! I highly recommend this hotel.

Lots of food but no sliced bread for toast. Just bagels, english muffins. Breakfast OK. Sort of bland and watery eggs. There was no room service on any of the days we were there. Had to ask for toilet paper and trash removal.
