Hampton Inn Portland Airport

Breakfast is good. Room space is good. We liked that room had desk, office chair and many lamps. The shower was exellent, especially for older person. We liked big size elevators.

We didn´t like the carpets in the corridors and foyer, because it´s very hard to take suitcases to and from room, even in case when they are four wheels ones. They don´t run on the carpet well. The cleaning lady tried to enter room at 9:30 am. Why she didn´t have information about guest check-out day and hour? Our check-out was the same morning, but not before 12 pm. She didn't nock on the door, just unlocked it and entered.

Location was what it was. If you need to be close to PDX I'm not sure you will find closer. For the money the room was exceptional. I had stayed a single night in a comfort inn and these two chains are not comparable even though the price would suggest otherwise. And finally, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and got me checked in early.

Icer machines were broken on, at least 2 if not 3 floors. Minor inconvenience having to go to the main floor to get ice. Parking - $15 per night extra. This does come with overnight security so... not a bad thing here in Portland.

The night clerk was very polite and considerate of my needs. I always like the breakfast selection at Hampton Inn. Also, even though this is a small thing, I like that there is a night light in the bathroom. I sometimes need to get up in the night and instead of having to turn on the overhead light, the night light gives just enough light.

The carpet in front of the tv was really horrible and needs to be replaced. In fact, I think the rooms would be easier to clean an d healthier if there was no carpet and only laminate like the entry and bathroom. I had stayed in another room at the same hotel a week earlier, and the carpet in that room was also very stained.

The location to the airport is very convenient. The amount of items served for breakfast was pleasantly surprising and tasty. The staff was very friendly and were able to set up the room as requested and accommodate our very late check-in.

It was a surprise that a hotel so far out of the city still charged for parking. I can understand having a closed lot to discourage people parking for the airport, but charging guests seemed excessive. Additionally it would have been nice to have a detailed instruction on how to use public transportation to get from the airport to the hotel if needed.

My kids loved the waffle and cereal options. Bonus that they had bread and packets of peanut butter and honey so we were able to make sandwiches to take with us. Our room was very comfortable in size. We had plenty of space to pull out the sofa bed for our older child and fit a crib (provided by hotel) for our toddler.

We stayed here twice, at the beginning and end of our Oregon trip. The first night there was a miscommunication about providing a crib - I had called the hotel ahead of time to request it, as well as including in our Booking.com reservation notes, and was assured that one would be sent to our room. The crib was not there and upon inquiring with the front desk they said there was no note on the reservation and that they did not have any available. Our toddler had to sleep in a makeshift bed on the floor. Fortunately, this was remedied on our second stay.

I came on a late flight and had to wait until the next day to get a shuttle back to Salem. I normally use an airport hotel that is a little farther away - but wanted a closer facility given the late arrival. The Hampton was closer but it is on this weird side-road that you sort of have to backtrack to off the main road - and the shuttle is shared with the adjacent Sheraton (adding/waiting for more people)... so both things added some time. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The room and bed were both great and I loved the Neutrogena bath soap/products (it's been awhile since I bothered to take hotel soap with me - but, yes, I took the soap and extra's). Having used a lot of hotels with no breakfasts or cold bags of food during the pandemic, it was GREAT to have an actual buffet with great hot food (eggs, bacon, oatmeal, great tea/coffee selection, etc.). I made my food and ate in my room. My shuttle wasn't until 10 - so I appreciated the extra morning time to eat and clean up.

Little pricey - but it seems like all hotels have really increased prices during the pandemic. But worth it because of the free shuttle and better breakfast.

The breakfast was very good and well stocked. Breakfast room was large and kept clean. 2 computers and a printer for guest use was appreciated.

Charging $15 a night for parking. Which was NOT stated when I first booked the room a few months ago. Very diappointed that they would do that to us being a Hilton member. Yes, they have the added charge on their website NOW and on booking.com NOW but did not when I booked. I really hate those kind of charges being thrown at the customer last minute without notice.

It was clean, comfortable and convenient as a place to stay before an early flight with a shuttle to the airport. We want to commend HIGHLY, desk clerk, Bill, who was working on the evening of 2/16. The property didn’t have our Booking.com reservation number, so he very patiently and competently arranged a room for us and dealt with the Booking.com representative to make sure we weren’t overcharged. He did this while answering multiple phone calls and was kind and friendly to us and other customers who were waiting in the lobby and on the phone. Thank you, Bill!

the staff was very pleasant and the accommodations were outstanding. room was very clean. breakfast was hot and good. location was outstanding as it was just 1 mile from the airport. there was coffee, tea, water and juice available and 2 microwaves we could use to heat up food that we had or if you bought something from their “convenience “ area. it was a wonderful experience and will definitely stay there again. also free shuttle service🙌🙌👍👍

had just a sheet and a heavy comforter. would have liked an option of a blanket so we could have removed the comforter and used a sheet and blanket

Bill at the front desk was great! He helped us get into a room early and gave us good advice about getting around the local area. Much appreciated as we arrived in Portland mid-morning after a pre-dawn departure from our homes and a couple of flights. In spite of overlooking the runway, the room was quiet.
