Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Portland - Jantzen Beach, an IHG Hotel

The location was great. The room was large and clean. The breakfast was pretty standard but delicious. No major complaints.

Did not love having the sink outside of the bathroom. Also the beds were VERY firm. Not our preference, but to each their own.

From the moment I walked in the service was impeccable. I was able to check in with no problem and everything was absolutely perfect. Did I mention breakfast? OMG...the breakfast alone made this stop extra special. I honestly do not remember such a nice hotel breakfast since I was last in Maui, Hi. That shower head massager was fantastic too.

The place is a bit dated. From the entry, the is no electric sliding door. No big deal until you have luggage and then you're standing there trying to hold the door open for yourself. Also, the rooms are a bit dated too. Do not get me wrong, everything was amazing. But the light in the entry took at least 20 minutes to get enough juice to actually power up, and when it did, it was still so dark, I did not immediately know that the light had even come on.

Comfy beds, mostly quiet location. Breakfast was delicious and missed since the pandemic.

We didn’t try the breakfast but the location was perfect. We loved how the hotel offered dove products

I don’t like how I had to upgrade for what was called a “private bathroom” when all Hotel rooms have private bathrooms and I already reserved a room that hand a jacuzzi in it. Also the TV kept glitching in and out but we figured it was because it was dish TV so didn’t really pay any mind. Also for the rooms that have jacuzzis maybe add some bath stuff but that’s it

We arrived at 11:00 PM. Carts were available to take our luggage to the room. 2 helpful and friendly employees were at the desk to greet us. Parked right in front. Room was great--clean, and good size. Comfortable beds. The sitting area and desk were partitioned slightly, almost like a suite, away from TV and beds. The hotel was very quiet; we never heard another soul. We had to leave to catch a plane in the morning, so didnt get to explore the hotel too much. Breakfast with hot and fresh with the typical hotel breakfast offerings.

it was exactly as advertised on booking.com, no sketchy activities happening around the hotel.

the night we got there was after midnight so the receptionist tried to say we couldn’t stay that day, though our reservation was made accordingly so we could….which made the check in longer than it needed to be when we were exhausted from the drive

The staff were friendly. It was raining really hard the day we arrived to Portland and the staff let my husband and I to check in early. We were so grateful cause we needed a place to dry up.

It was a bit far from Downtown Portland so you’ll need a car.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating. everything was clean, and the breakfast was excellent. Since a pandemic started we have stayed at a lot of different hotels this is one of the best breakfasts we've had in the 40 or 50 hotels we stayed at. Most other hotels seems to have gotten lazy on the breakfast part. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody who's staying jantzen Beach. Also the refrigerator works well not many hotels refrigerator works even the more expensive ones.

The phone in the room didn't work, but renovations were being done, which could be the reason. I had my cellphone, so I was able to contact the front desk that way. Not a deal breaker. Still a great hotel.

This is the 1st time I've stayed at Jansen Beach--have always avoided it because it's close to a less desirable part of Portland. We were pleasantly surprised by the condition of the hotel, (tasteful remodel), friendliness of staff, and overall feeling of safety on site (although we were directed to park in the front of the hotel as opposed to the back (but after all, this is Portland).

No fault of the hotel but proximity to I-5 and PDX made for noise at times.
