Gilbert Inn

The Gilbert Inn is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are amazing and very helpful. The breakfast was very tasty and the location is perfect! We will stay again!

Our room was beautiful and the bed was super comfy but there is no place to sit in the room except for the bed. This didn't work for my spouse as he has back issues. A chair in the room would have made is stay much more comfortable for him. But I would stay again but bring a folding chair for the room.

Everything about this little quant place is excellent.. My daughter and I took off on a whim to the Oregon coast our favorite place on this side of the waters . Could not of asked for a better little quiet comfortable Inn that caters to the elegant yet simple mini vacation. The best is so comfy. The shower hot and good pressure. The room except onaly clean and smells so good. opened the window and hear the ocean 🌊 .. just a few minutes walk to the beach. breakfast catered to what you order with a wonderful little sun room to enjoy it in . We sat down in the lobby by the fire enjoying some conversation . Then made a coffee and headed back to our room and played a game of clue ..all while heating the mesmerizing sound of the ocean and cool breeze coming in our window. This will be our go to for the rest of our trips here. Everything you need right Downton is just around the corner. Shopping and eats at your fingertips. Thank you for our much needed time here .. oh yeah free warm cookies to eat down at the front desk and DVDs to watch to settle in the night if you like as well . Comfortable room. The gentleman that makes breakfast was very kind. That is a good addition to our stay. The location of the Gilbert Inn is absolutely amazing. Getting to park the car and just walk is such a plus!

A lot of noise. The old house does a lot of creaking. It wasn't cool enough for us. We slept with the window open the 2nd night and there were people outside talking to each other, nothing crazy - but the noise travels so much because of all the buildings.

The staff who provided fixed the breakfast for us was great. She was attentive and made sure we had what we needed. It was close to the beach, but due to the weather, we didn’t visit the beach.

Although the claw foot tub in the room was a nice touch to add to the historic feel of the inn, it really was impractical. The shower curtains around the tub and the inability to have the handheld shower head hang so you could rinse your hair and body made it difficult to not get water on the bathroom floor.

Beautiful home, wonderful staff (especially the man preparing breakfast), great location, unique rooms, lovely outside patio for breakfast, and great outdoor fire area.

We really enjoyed everything. One thing we got a chuckle out of is the bathroom mirror was pretty low, had to squat to see our faces. The shape of the wall would prevent from hanging any higher. I just used a different mirror in the room to get ready.

I had never been to a bed and breakfast in my life but if they're all like this one, I need to visit a lot more. Each room has its own name and unique features which makes me want to keep coming back and stay in them all at least once. The staff was very friendly as well which helped. Nothing was wrong with the cleanliness in our room and everything was perfect. Helps that old architecture is something I enjoy as well.

The one thing that was a bit strange was when I went to shower. The water temperature kept changing dramatically in both directions even without me having touched anything. I figure that is just how it it in an old house like that. The old plumbing causing the water to potentially be effected by what other guests were doing in their room with their water. That was my only issue but not even one I feel I could fault them on since I don't think there is much that could be done about it. I would still happily visit again.

The Gilbert is such a cool historical house in walking distance of the beach. The staff is wonderful and the room was spacious.

The only thing that I wish was that there were more choices for breakfast, but it was awesome to have Leo cooking us breakfast. He was definitely amazing, he told about places we should visit and restaurants that were good. He made our trip just that much more special.

It's a beautiful building, Great location in walking distance of everything you need for a weekend at the coast. Good breakfast. Charming staff.

Their was a gap between the head of the bed and the mattress, the pillows would slip into the gap. Pillows were on the small side for the bed. The tub kept draining due to a problem with the plug.

The Facility was amazing, The staff was delightful and the breakfast was beyond expectations. The location was better than hoped for and the room was very comfortable. I hope to stay here again very soon.

Nothing to add here. The place was very clean, Very close to where we wanted to be and there is nothing bad to say.

The friendliness of the staff. It was like we were staying with old friends. Breakfast was good and hot served by accommodating kitchen, dining room staff. Living in a vintage accomodations imagining what life was like back then.

Climbing the stairs. Quantity of cream cheese for the bagel. Needed another place to sit (more than one chair)
