Holiday Inn Express and Suites Allentown West, an IHG Hotel

The property was surprisingly incredible. Compared to what I knew about Holiday Inn back in the day. I absolutely enjoyed my stay there as the modern look, and feel can compete with Marriott and Hilton. The lobby looked incredible. When you first walk in I was greeted with a warm fireplace and contemporary, modern furniture and decoration. The staff greeted me professionally and treated me kindly. The breakfast was OK just stay away from the hashbrowns. Other than that my stay was perfect.

The hash browns was a mix between potatoes and an old sock. I am not sure what that was but it definitely was not hashbrowns or made from potatoes. You can go across the street to Chris’s family restaurant for a good breakfast. You can’t go wrong there.

The property is very close to the road so you do have road noise in the rooms closest to the road. I also noticed exhaust smell come in from one of the trucks that came by even with the window completely shut. There was apparently a team of little league kids above our room too. Their feet sounded like they were playing basketball above us. I spoke with the manager and he said he only wanted to make me happy. He moved us to another room which was quite and didn’t have any exhaust smell coming in.

The place is extremely clean and provides good amenities for the price. This is my second stay at this hotel. everyone is very friendly and they listen and do what they need to to make you happy.

The hotel was well maintained and in a convenient and safe location. I also love the daily baked cookies near the front desk. It was a welcoming touch.

Bed was so high that you can’t sit on the edge. Also there were no sheer curtains on the window so if you can’t let sunlight in without sacrificing privacy.

Location was perfect for what I needed. Liked the clean, quiet, spacious room very much and the wifi access.

Design flaw in the long reach to the toilet paper. My key card wouldn't work and needed replaced more than once during my stay.

We have stayed here before due to its location. A member of housekeeping caught up to us as we were leaving to give us something we had left behind in the room. We've never had that happen before.

Listening to someone on their phone in the breakfast room. I'm not sure anyone else needed to hear both sides of the conversation. I know the hotel can't control that but it was annoying.

Very clean & spacious room !! Large bathroom with awesome Dove hygiene products !! Fridge , microwave & extra seating was great !! We arrived early unexpectedly, room was ready & desk staff very friendly !!

Room did not have good lighting , just lamps & shades with dull bulbs . Maybe a vending area and more ice machine on each floor

Breakfast was located on the first floor off a main hall and close to the elevator. The food was wonderful. Hot and filling. low and full fat yogurts, cereals--cold and hot, sweet breads, toast and bunds, bagels, fresh and chilled fruit. coffee, tea, variety of juices, bottled water. variety of sausage self made automated pancake maker. all very clean. variety of table configurations or take to your room.

I prefer greek yogurt to regular yogurt

I like that the front desk customer service was always available and helpful for check-in &check-outs. Another thing that I like was the room was very clean and stocked with common forgettable items.

There was nothing on the top of my head that I can think of that did not make this experience one to remember.

Good breakfast. Omelets were good. Wish there was hot oatmeal not the bagged kind. Lobby was inviting and staff made me feel welcome. She gave us 2 waters!

Parking was difficult, and entrance needed light as we arrived after dark and it took two tries to find entrance.

Convenient to locate. High ceilings and comfortable size. It was a welcome surprise to have the the full size soaps and shampoo available for use.

Ice machine was on 3rd floor we were on the 1st. Beds were too soft and the chair was badly stained. Room was noisy as it was right next to the road.
