Bird-in-Hand Family Inn

The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The hotel was close to all of the places I wanted to visit and the resturant was right next door.

The entrance door to the hallway to my room was not locked. Anyone could walk right in from the outside. that is not very safe. I did not like the sink outside of the bathroom. Very little privacy.

Breakfast was very good! Served fast !

Kids were running up and down our hallway after 10 pm. A lot of talking, laughing, and kids running outside our room and it was after 10 pm which I thought would be quiet time.

A basketball team on our floor. Running back and forth all night. Yelling, screaming. Slamming doors. Running around the property. Uncontrolled. Took over pools. No room for others.

Traveled with my mom and my 3 kids. We checked in on a Saturday a little after 3. Check in was simple, the workers were very nice and explained how to get to our room very well. We unloaded the car and changed and went straight to the pool. Plenty of places to sit at the pool and towels were available. We enjoyed the pool 3 times in the short time we were there. My younger kids loved the playground and the basketball hoop. Rooms were spacious, temp in room was easy to control. We fed the animals the day we left. Will definitely come back again.

Every thing was great. No complaints.

The breakfast was good, not great but not poor either. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We love the miniature golf course next door/ice cream.

This has been the second year in a row where the pools looked dirty, the outdoor pool was green and it looks like the pool maintenance is forgotten, and that is one of the reasons we go. Another downside but yet I understand and am glad families can be together is that the restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday. They have an ice cream venue at their bakery but they close before 6 pm. Outside of the pool these are trivial downsides.

We loved everything. The room was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was clean the employees were extremely friendly and the food was fresh and delicious. I have been staying at the Bird in Hand family inn for over 40 years. My parents took me there as a child many times, I have taken my children and now that they are grown I still love to visit Lancaster and stay at the Bird in Hand family Inn. We caught a show at the Bird in Hand stage. It was wonderful! We can’t wait to visit again.

The only thing I didn’t like was having to leave when our stay was over

The dinner buffet was outstanding. All offerings were flavorful. The turkey was tender, the mashed potatoes were REAL, the meatloaf was perfect. It is amazing how quickly tables are made ready to keep the wait to a minimum. Everything was well done. Servers work hard so generously tip them! The room was perfect; comfortable bed. Modern bedding. The outdoor pool was refreshing. Location was perfect.

The bed pillows were too soft and flattened down to nothing. I had to use all 3 under my head. Minor adjustment.

I have visited this property many times before and enjoy returning for short stays. The property is comfortable and well-maintained. Staff are friendly and eager to help. The location makes it easily accessible to sites and restaurants in the area.

The rooms are smoke-free. However, I think more can be done to discourage people from smoking outside but near the rooms. Signs could be posted or written in to the rules that indicate no smoking within 50 or 100 ft. of the rooms.

We stayed in the old part. We loved sitting out on the chairs. It was so peaceful. We walked around the property at night . They have a miniature golf course and ice cream place that is on their property. As well as a pond, playground and petting farm. They had 3 pools and a hot tub. One was outside and it was a walk- in pool. We also liked how it was so close to all of our activities. The breakfast was delicious. They are closed for Monday nights for dinner.

was told to book room for next year at end of stay only to be told front building was booked already and had to be put in pool building--i checked in on thursday instead of friday and did not get the new reservation card until sunday and all front rooms were gone already-i was notified thqt i am on the waiting list for the front building, but prefer to only be in that building
