Clarion Hotel & Suites University-Shippensburg

The young woman who worked the counter when I checked in was extremely impressive. I used to be in the IT helpdesk industry and the way she conducted herself on the phone with guests was incredible. I was just waiting to check in and heard how she handled the call she was on. Same thing later on when I, an IT guy, couldn't figure out the wifi. She was again on the phone with a guest but somehow we communicated non-verbally and I looked closer.... the check box at the top... I will probably use this interaction with her later to write training manuals. If you are ever visiting or participating in any Carlisle car show, I recommend this hotel.

CLR is great to clean shower heads. Hahaha. A quick "thumb nail rub" on the rubber nozzles works too. 8/10 hotels I see this.

We like the location and the University Grille for dinner.

It was good when we able to eat it on Friday (opened 0600). On Saturday, during a major car event 20 miles away, the breakfast did not start until 0700 which was too late for us and most of the guests who were attending same. Was disappointed with that and, in the opinion of myself and everyone I talked to, you should rethink that. Paid a premium rate and had to stop, waste time and pay more for a breakfast elsewhere.

The restaurant and bar on site ! Really nice food and very friendly servers who knew what they were doing. Also the parking around the back of the building was very convenient.

The shower floor looked like it could use a good scrubbing ( that may be the tile color ) and the drain was very slow to drain. AC in the room appears to be pre-set and not adjustable in the room, I would have preferred the room to be a little cooler.

The hotel was clean. The woman who checked us in was very helpful. The appearance of the lobby was veryclassy. The University Grille had excellent food and service. Thebed was comfortable and the room was spacious.

We were awakened to the housekeeping staff laughing and making A LOT of noise outside our door while cleaning the rooms around us. It was time to wake up anyway (8:15) but it was uncalled for and very inconsiderate.

The staff at the front desk and the maid were very nice. The room was as advertised at the reservation and was very clean.

The breakfast on Saturday and Sunday was open until 9:30. On Monday it closed at 9:00 and they did not tell us and there was no way to know of that fact until we went down at 9:10 for no breakfast. A bad ending to an otherwise enjoyable trip.

It was a great alternative to the generic highway hotel. Well appointed and super clean lobby gives a great first impression. Fridge in room and comfortable bed. Friendly professional staff. A very pleasant patio with umbrellas and strings of lights for outdoor seating in the restaurant. The complementary beer was a nice touch !

Carpets in the hallway were a train wreck… so badly stained. Key cards very temperamental even after being adjusted by front desk staff. Sink in the room very slow to drain.

The room was spacious , comfortable bed, and pillows, good internet, clean and a good shower. The bar /restaurant was nice and the food wasn’t bad. Not much for vegetarians..

The breakfast was almost non existent. There was some music going late in to the night, from outdoor speakers with the restaurant downstairs. That was a little annoying, especially because there wasn’t anyone sitting out there. It’s was too loud,, and they did turn it off when i asked at 11 pm. I think it might be a small issue on weekends with warm weather.

Clean spacious room, location right in town so within walking distance to eateries, friendly helpful staff

Small parking area with tight spots. Breakfast items were just O K. Would rather go out to have breakfast.

Breakfast an excellent surprise. Loved the location to be in a historic university town. Good people and local eateries. Loved using this place as a basis to walk the App

The University Grille is a little overrated.
