Newport Marriott Hotel & Spa

Parking lot was the worst I've seen at a Marriott. Spaces way too tight and dangerous for most drivers I was able to manage but was very frustrated at the way others parked.

The location was amazing, you are within walking distance to food, shopping, and beautiful views. The staff was not only helpful, but very friendly. The valet and concierge staff made us feel special, they were always so happy to help and seemed to be there whenever we needed them. We enjoyed all of the dining options during our stay, and they were all exceptional, both the food and the service staff. My husband and I will most definitely be back for more of everything this beautiful property has to offer.

The location is very convenient walking distance to explore the town and the mansions. Overall, the hotel is well kept and very clean.

The room rate states that breakfast is included. I was under the impression that this is a buffet breakfast, as what is the usual hotel breakfast package. However, the breakfast was just pre-packed muffins/pastries and coffee/tea. We ended up paying USD25 per person to have the buffet in the restaurant. So that was a bummer.

Comfortable bed

Our Room on 4th floor was facing street and had a slider door to walk out to a common area shared by other guests. The lock was loose on that slider door and we were unable to secure the loose screws. There was a bar that came down to prevent anyone from entering our room but the fact that the hotel did not repair the lock prior to anyone renting that room shows neglect on the part of Marriott Management.

It’s location was perfect.

Open area in lobby which is loud as parents which I don’t blame them allow their children to play. This area is surrounded by all the rooms, and it’s not uncommon to hear kids at play 7AM . Trust me I been there, but as a empty nester 7AM is quiet time. Also pool very hot, would be nice hot outdoor pool.

The hotel was centrally located, with access to the downtown Newport area, including shops and restaurants. The hotel was also very clean and modern, with many great amenities (e.g., pool and fitness center).

The parking situation could have been better. However the public parking lot was just a 2-minute walk from the hotel.

The room was very clean. The gym facilities were amazing...they had everything you could think of. Also loved the machine to fill up your water bottle. The location of the room was great as well - great view.

The parking was expensive.

I like the hotel because always clean great employee's always willing to help and very respectful. I think they must treat there employee's good because I've been here at this hotel a few times and it's same employee's there. I notice they like there job. Because they put effort into making the guest happy with in reason. Unlike other hotels I've been too.

Location my room but that's my fault because I book last minute not the hotel. Was noisy in that location

The location was perfect. The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful and pleasant. The outside bar had a nice atmosphere with a good view of the marina. Breakfast food was very good.

The room while clean and comfortable was a bit small for the price we paid. There was only one small night stand for 2 beds. The valet parking was a bit steep and the coffee station could have been open a bit later.

Early check in when we arrived at 1:30. Nice quiet rooms. Although we would have much preferred a room with a balcony. (See below) Bathrooms clean with lighted makeup mirror and extra shelving above the sink.

There was only 1 chair at the desk which was very tight to the beds when you pulled it out. If we had a balcony we would have had the 2 chairs there to sit and have conversation etc. The lighting was dark. I wish there were a couple different densities of pillows which seemed firm.
