Wellington Resort

Loved the room and location. View was spectacular. Super friendly staff and amazingly quick check-in. Newport is a great town and the hotel is near to everything. I would have liked to see a little more at the resort for kids. Space was limited but maybe a small play area (swingset)? Also, the biggest deficiency was how dated the suite was. It was large and comfortable, but getting old. Kind of had an 80's look.

Air conditioning came on with a roar every time and was disturbing. The fixtures in the bathrooms and kitchen were old. Some missing linoleum on the countertops, stained cabinets in the bathrooms. Dripping faucet in the tub. The unit was very comfortable but had an air of needing modernizing.

This was the perfect property for our family. My teenage and college sons had their own private room with separate beds, as well as a sofa bed. Our master bedroom was in a private room, which included a jacuzzi in the master bath. The layout was extremely spacious and we had a breathtaking view of the water. The outdoor pool was clean and every morning I saw the staff cleaning and checking the chlorine levels. The indoor pool was a bonus when it rained and the gym was adequate (an updated elliptical machine is in order but I enjoyed the bike, rowing machine and free weights.) There are not many amenities at the resort but we were so satisfied with our suite that we didn’t have an interest in hanging at the clubhouse. Moreover, anything you desire, from restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping, etc. was in walking distance.

The location was perfect for us and we loved the harbor view. Check in was easy and the front desk staff was very nice. The size of the condo was very comfortable for the 4 of us and had almost everything we needed. Our daughters had their own bathroom, which was a plus. The pool area was beautiful and facilities manager near the pool was extremely friendly & pleasant to talk to.

The inside of the condos definitely need to be updated. Although everything was in good shape and clean, the furniture, rugs, and bathrooms were outdated. The kitchenette had almost everything we needed - a stove/oven would have been a bonus for those wanting to cook in.

Very pleased that resort contacted me the day before check-in to notify me that I could check in earlier than 4. Easy, free parking. Free Wi-fi. Liked blankets. Liked large Video Library. Staff pleasant and helpful. Very spacious suites and balconies. Balcony view was very nice, but, no petition for one the balconies to separate from neighboring guest. Quiet. Washer/Dryer nice convenience for quick load and lighter packing. Very close to attractions/main streets/shops/restaurants. Very difficult to find parking space to enjoy Thames St. and other local shopping areas. Very busy. On Sunday afternoon, the area quieted down alot, and we were able to park and enjoy Bowman's Wharf. Area/traffic must get crazy busy and very congested during the summer, so, I would not visit at that time.

Living Room furniture was uncomfortable when sitting for a period of time. Frequently changing position. Mattresses comfy enough, but, could've been more luxurious. Didn't like Shampoo, Conditioner, Lotion, Soap. Difficult to squeeze out of bottles. Quality did not make me feel pampered. ;) Able to control thermostat, but, could not maintain a room temperature to keep warm enough...other than when in bed w/blankets. And temps were mild for the end of November. I think it's due to, in part, the fact that the living/kitchen/dining area is so large next to patio doors/large windows. Fireplace mantle had coffee cup stains from previous guest that wasn't wiped clean, so, I wondered what else hadn't been cleaned.

The location was fantastic. The size of the room was very good for a group. Having a fridge, sink, counter space with microwave, and coffee maker was nice. The pool area was wonderful to have access to. Having two full bathrooms in our suite was really helpful for our girls weekend group.

The access around the property is a bit confusing like a maze but it's clearly done to make sure only guest have access to things and due to the property probably being older and retrofited in places. The air conditioning was noisy but worked really well. The twin beds were really short. Anyone over 6ft has their feet dangling off.

We love the suite set up with separate bedroom for the kids. It’s a wonderful space for travelers with families. I also like that they provide mini crib and high hair- 2 less bulky things to travel with. We love the pools and the location is great!!

The suites could really use an upgrade and refresh to modernize them. The master bed and pillows were not that comfortable. The couch is not that comfortable either. The shower heads could use a replacement as well, especially the ones not in the master bath with the jetted tub. They are very old and way too small.

We enjoyed how roomy our units were. We shared the top floor with family members and had a most wonderful time. There was so much room it felt like a maze in each unit. Some of us were using the pool, relaxing with an occasional fire in the fireplace and walked along the path adjacent to the water. It was nice having a Keurig in our suite as we don't percolate coffee. Had enough towels for our room. The location was conveniently close to many shops and restaurants that were open. We didn't have to go far to find something to enjoy. Oh, and the large sized washer and dryer were deceivingly awesome! I'm used to seeing these small units that clean only a few items at a time. Since there wasn't an oven or stove top range, glad to see an electric pan, good to make pancakes! Parking was conveniently close and we appreciated having an elevator for our trips up and down with purchases and supplies and suitcases.

Having to go to the main building for pool towels. Maybe there could be a few stored in the hall closet. Missed having a stove top range to cook on.

I would highly recommend the Wellington Resort in Newport, RI to anyone looking for a wonderful vacation destination. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the outstanding service provided by the friendly and welcoming staff. One standout employee was Allie, who went above and beyond to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Her enthusiasm and genuine kindness made me feel right at home. The location of the Wellington Resort is simply unbeatable. It is situated just a short walk away from the picturesque waterfront and is surrounded by charming shops, galleries, and restaurants. The resort itself is beautifully designed and impeccably maintained, with all the amenities one could hope for. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with luxurious bedding and modern amenities. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in the decor and furnishings, which created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about my experience at the Wellington Resort. It is truly a gem of a property, and I look forward to returning again soon. If you are looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway in a stunning location with exceptional service, the Wellington Resort is a perfect choice.

The appliances are a little dated.

Our room 321 was perfect location for us. Very quiet and private. Beautiful view!

The beds not comfortable at all. The ac was so loud every time it kicked on. Could use a bit more updating on floors, curtains maybe a little paint. Wish the website was more descriptive and specific to which room was which and what was included in a specific room. We brought extra stuff we didn’t know was going to be there. I think we ended up with a family suite but not sure how to tell if that is correct. When booking it doesn’t give you the names of the suite to choose.

Location of the hotel is great, close to everything but not right in the middle of the busiest area. Great Italian restaurant just across the road (Vieste). Hotel overlooks the harbor area and has two nice pools. The service was very good - we had to leave a day early due to my husband not being well and they were very accommodating. Rooms are very large with full kitchen and washer/dryer.

Unfortunately we got the last room available so our room didn't have the lovely balcony directly overlooking the harbor as shown in the photos on Booking.com. It was a disabled-access room so only had a concrete "patio" (a narrow walkway area really) that accessed the other walkways to the pool. We only had a sliver of harbor view.
