Charleston Marriott

The property was clean, right across the street from a grocery store and staffed with helpful and friendly people. I had a DELICIOUS burger in the restaurant after my half marathon.

The property plays music all night in the outdoor terrace area with the pool loudly enough that it was hard to get and stay asleep. They DEFINITELY need to institute quiet hours - say 10:00 pm to 7:00 am during which the music is turned OFF. I really couldn’t believe that a hotel would play the music all night at that volume. I even mentioned it to the gentlemen at the front desk the next morning. He agreed with my sentiment and said he would ask that it at least be turned down that night.

The Marriot Charleston was a delightful experience. Even though my stay was only a few days, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Centrally located in Charleston, it offers all the amenities one could desire in a hotel. The bar was top-notch, and the staff were friendly and professional, with excellent English proficiency. I'll definitely choose it again.

We had coffee and muffins/fruit for breakfast. Can’t comment on full breakfast. Ladies working the coffee bar we very polite and greeted you with a smile, same goes for the bar tender in bar area and everyone working the check in desk.

I wish you would offer a discount cost across the board to guest that are 65 and older, on hotel cost, meals, drinks and items purchased.

The hotel was great and the staff were really good. My room was very nice with a comfortable bed. The pool looked lovely and the outside area was good to sit in. Having a coffee bar was great in the morning.

That the hotel didn't provide a shuttle bus to the centre of Charleston. The public bus didn't run often or according to the timetable! Also the paid for parking, can understand it when not on site, but I parked literally outside the entrance!

Location was great and our room was clean and quiet . Bed and pillows very comfortable and staff was friendly .

Our bathroom had a very bad odor that appeared to come from the vent . After bathroom was cleaned the odor did dissipate although returned in morning . Tiles in bathroom shower were old and discolored .

The pool and the workout facilities were great!

Upon checkout we had a $22 charge to our room. I was told at checkout that it could not be determined where the charge came from so I had to ask several questions to get someone to look into it. It was then determined to be an incorrect charge and was promptly taken off my bill but it could have easily been overlooked had I not been adamant about it. Other than that, everything was wonderful!

First visit to Charleston didn’t know the area so was disappointed on how far away it was from the sites. You have to drive or Uber which we were trying to avoid. Good thing we didn’t have any problem finding any parking once we got to the downtown area don’t know how that would have worked out if it was a weekend.

breakfast was good, could have wider choice, but offered most of what one wants. The room was comfy and cosy, the lobby clean and also the outdoor pool was neat.

the bathroom was a little worn down and small with a noisy fan.

Hallways very cool. First room assigned viewed parking lot. Had requested water view. Moved us to 8th floor which was better. Also didn’t give us breakfast coupons until we changed rooms. That was odd.

Very comfortable rooms, loved the Aqua roof terrace, good location and views overlooking the Ashley River but quite a distance if you want to visit the Historic District. The pool was great and decent size to swim in.

The only thing I would change is more umbrellas in the pool area, very little shade particularly in the afternoon.
